The sales guy wasn't pushy and came across as an honest guy. The price was competitive. The fitters friendly and efficient and we are extremely happy with the windows.

Excellent work from start to finish with the sales pitch the communication from the office and the efficiency and timely work from your builders in replacing 13 windows and patio doors. Excellent work and excellent value. Thank you

Had our cladding renew, look lovely, guys who did it, very friendly, put right what needed to be put right, no mess cleaned up all the old wood, whole experience very good, would recommend, no pressure sort to give us the best deal.

Avoid at all costs. Stay well away. Products are very poor quality and when you have problems they tell you that their guarantee doesn't cover it!! Had windows and doors fitted 7 years ago now and had problems from day 1 of fitting! They were supposed to install all new internal window sills but when I returned at the end of the first day of installation all upstair windows had been fitted without replacing the window sills. No apology or offer of a refund, just an oh well it's done now! Second day they fitted the front bay window and pulled part of the ceiling down and never even offered to repair it. (Luckily we were renovating the whole house we had just purchased our first home) After a year the front door furniture was all knackered, it had all pitted and looked like sandpaper and discoloured but guess what they didn't care as they already had our money. We have had 3 double glazed units blow which are also not covered and cost me £85 each time, we have had to replace 4 window handles and all the frames have discoloured and we have had to have the back doors replaced completely due to poor quality. They are cheap for a reason because they are s h * t !! Update: It gets better, Smiths are now denying we were even a customer of theirs 🙈 Contract has been supplied to Trustpilot as proof 👍 Update on 30/07/2019 to Smith Glass response on 22/06/2019: Obviously this review would not have been published by Trust Pilot without the documentation to back it up. very good standard of work was carried out by two excellent fitters. They worked in a clean and safe and manner and carried out their work to a high standard.

The fitter was on time. He was very tidy and efficient. The patio doors were installed and everything was left clean and tidy. An excellent job.

The work done on our conservatory was excellent with the first part foundations and partial brick build. All tidied up and complete. Small pause before glazier came to fit windows french doors and roof last year. This year we had our double glazing replaced and a new front door. We are delighted with the results.

Very bad experience with Smiths Glass. 11 weeks on from the install and they have still not finished, 3 weeks delay for them to return was down to myself as I was unable to be at home to give them access, but 8 weeks and they still have not resolved the issues. • Badly fitted windows which do not run inline with French doors and have daylight showing through. • Poorly fitted back door with uneven overhang of door cill horns 35mm to left hand side with 85mm to right hand side. • Black windows on the outside with white plastic on the inside. Windows not fitted together correctly showing the white inner frame. • Back door did not open 90 degrees and was catching on the skirting. A small adjustment would have been needed here, but was left for me to find out. I copped back the door reveal and nibbled back the brickwork and made good to allow the door to open 90 degrees. • Lead units did not line up / miss a lined. • Window cill’s cut short and back lip to prevent water ingress cut off when all that was needed was to release the window frame to allow the cill to be slotted in. • Locks would not work on French door unless an extra push on the handle aloud the key to turn. Fitted told me that by adjusting the shoot bolt lock would always cause problems. French door cill lip also copped off. • Front door (Virtuoso) colour dose not match the window frame. I paid extra to have this colour matched. No mastic underneath the front door cill. • Poor quality finish to the window frames. Plastic welds not cleaned up or even trimmed in places leaving the overspill of the weld being proud. I have been left to clean. • Customer services are poor and do not always return your emails. • Fitted turned up after 11 weeks without materials and left without doing any works. • I have requested a visit from someone to look at quality issues, but I was told they are very busy and were not able to send anyone. This was 3 weeks ago. New manager has started, but I have not heard from him. I have emailed over photos have been sent with polite messages. • Spoke to one of the directors who told me to email in my complaints and he would have 28 days in which to reply. I emailed in areas which I was unhappy with 11 weeks ago. • Front window bay is damaged on fitting or when delivered. Smith’s answer to resolving this issue was to stick a piece of flat plastic over the damage. This looked poor and had the white plastic shining through when bent. I have black window frames on the outside. I had to drive down to their factory to look at a plastic profile to take home and see if it would cover the damage bay window and be an acceptable cover up. • Not all window locks work smoothly. Frames were left with all finger marks and machine marks on them plus not all glazed unit labels were removed. I have been left to clean. • Fitters used the van to stand on the roof to fit the front bay trim which is fitted wonky. • Part of the delay is due to a fitted being off work due to broken wrist, but this dose not explain other issues I am having with Smith’s. All in all very poor. Still no date arranged of when they will return to complete works. Awaiting their rely on trustpilot which will probably point the finger of blame at me for all of the above. I am spoken to by neighbours asking why they have not completed the works. All I'd like is for them to return and finish. I have renders to book in to re-render the outside, but how can anyone programme anything in when I have all of the above to contend with. Payment of £10,000 has been made with an outstanding balance of £500 held back for incomplete and remedial works. Update 4 weeks on from leaving my review Smiths Glass have still not returned to complete works, or make good to poorly fitted windows today's update 30th June 2019. Update 30th August 2019 three months on from Smith's Glass reply. Smith's Glass have not returned to finish or rectify works. I have now contacted a third party double glazing company to offer a price to rectify and finish. I estimate the cost will be far higher than the £500 outstanding balance left to pay. Very disappointed. Update 06.12.2020 Smiths never returned. I had to paid another company to complete and finish the windows.

The worst service ever, AVOID if possible! Can’t even call it a service as we’ve been waiting for almost 5 weeks and their surveyor still didn’t manage to show up to measure the windows! Everything is on hold because of them and they were made aware about all this when selling us the windows - can’t believe all the smooth talk from the salesman, promised everything just to sell the windows! Numerous calls from our side, asking for appointments, working from home because of them to make ourselves available, texting, checking on them... nothing!!!! Not even a call back although promised! Every time I called the company I got sales department, asked today for a customer service, apparently they don’t even have a phone, as I was only given an email (which says sales@.... anyway), emailed them asking for my money back second time already, no reply! I can not believe this company isn’t out of service yet, how can they treat people like that! I am appalled! Update: Emailed and called at least 5 times this week, asking for a refund of our deposit. Nothing happened, they are still ignoring our requests and promising to call back but nobody ever does!! I can’t believe this anymore, total joke! I’m really worried we will never get our deposit back now, this looks like a total scam! Visiting the office in person next week and staying there until the refund is sorted! Reply to Smiths comment: First of all, the money has not reached my account yet and I will only believe your refund had been done when I see it. I realise now that you are not only incapable of delivering your service but also a company with very low customer service standards. My phone records clearly show only outgoing calls (15 of them in the last few weeks!) and no unanswered ones from your side. We’ve made ourselves available to your surveyors but they have only been given our file on 21st of May (I have a text message of your surveyor claiming so) which is quite a few weeks after our order! Copy paste of my text message: “Hi, please let me know when you are coming tomorrow, I’ve been trying to arrange a surveyor for the past 4 weeks and I don’t know what to do anymore - the whole smiths is so unapproachable and unresponsive I’m loosing my patience slowly! I’d really appreciate if you can come and take the measurements tomorrow - available 11-5. Thanks! Your surveyors reply: “Hi I do apologise I was only given your paperwork on Tuesday 21st when I rang you. I am not usually in your area . But was on Tuesday. I will try my best to get to you tomorrow. Otherwise it will go back to the office. I am in kent tomorrow and will do all I can to get to you. I will confirm tomorrow Regards” Let this message speak for itself! He called me if we’re at home that he’s around - seriously? We both work and usually need to plan appointments more than 5 minutes ahead. Btw, he did not call back or confirm anything after this message. Also, the price was not competitive at all which was clearly stated by your salesman but since he promised you can deliver in 5 weeks and the windows look nice, we agreed on the sales. Honestly we got a better offer now and the windows look terrific - not to mention the quality of service compared to yours! I will be happily reviewing them with 5 stars. Looking forward to the deposit and never having to contact you again. Thank you.

The quality of the windows, doors, fascia, soffits and guttering are excellent. The workmen turned up on time, were very efficient (day 1: removed and replaced 9 windows, 2 doors, 1 patio door; Day 2: made good all the surrounds, sills and exterior beading). The crew were very polite, unintrusive considering the circumstances and disposed of every scrap of rubbish. The same applies to the roofline work: the fitters were prompt, polite and skilled. The difference it has made to the house is remarkable. Both teams worked very fast and with minimal disturbance. Would happily recommend the fitters to anyone. Update: 11/06/2019 However, four weeks on (and the first adverse weather since fitting) I have water coming in around the frame of my living room window, the outside of which hasn't been sealed adequately, causing damage to my plaster, woodwork and flooring. Trying to contact the Service Department is a thankless task (currently on hold as I type)... and having read the recent Trustpilot reviews while on hold, I'm not expecting an answer any time soon... Very disappointing customer support.
