When you withdraw from a project you get bombarded with very rude phone calls and emails. That is how the company treats returning customers that contracted this company for around £32,000. Withdrawing from a small project, with a value of £3000 will trigger this company”s worst behaviour. Edit You did not start any work on the property yet and you will never start any. I did not sign a contract with you. After you made several phone calls to me, you begged me to accept to attend to your salesperson as this would keep the person in employment for a bit longer. I made it clear I do not need you for any project in the near future and the most important fact. I NEVER signed a contract with you. Therefore the answer to my review is irrelevant.

Had my conservatory replaced recently and experienced one issue after another from the surveyor not knowing how to use a tape measure to missing parts, I now have a window without the key and a missing a down pipe which didn't need to be removed in the first place. I wouldn't recommended this company to anyone who wants a hassle free installation. Best avoided.

My roof is still leaking after seven years of complaining. I have heard every excuse from them. I do not recommend conservatory fitted by them unless you want grief ! I do NOT have multiple accounts! Seven years of complaining about leaks. My gutters are cleaned regularly but the rain still comes in. They just don’t know how to fix it! I feel very cheated and wet. Update January 2019 and response to Smiths reply. I have to leave this negative review because although Smiths have improved in coming repeated times to repair the blown seals on many windows, they do not seem to know why my conservatory is leaking. Their rely in retaliation is just as unhelpful. No apologies! Fact:- Plumbing pipes for washing machine, shower, toilet and electrical wires for central fan lights and wall lights were provided by Smiths. Honour my 10 year guarantee please.

From start to finish Smith's were excellent. The workmen were friendly and professional and when finished left everywhere clean and tidy.

During the time I had the salespeople round a gentleman from a rival company mentioned he used to work for Smiths but left as he was not happy with them. He asked me to check on trustpilot before I considered Smiths as some reviews were poor. I did this but decided to go with Smiths anyway. I am glad I did as the price, product and service were excellent. It transpired that the poor reviews on trustpilot were put their by the ex-employee who was upset as Smiths had to let him go.

Reported blown units in may 2018 for the second time, still not replaced under guarantee and yet again had day off work to wait for them for no one to turn up, nearly a 10 months waiting, they measured units wrong twice and now report that theres yet another issue with the new unit, terrible service, communication and twice now have not called to say engineer is not going turn up, absolutely awful STEER CLEAR. They then try and fob me and this review off saying they can't find my records! Amazing, check your repairs/spares team I spoke to them today, also speak to Jodie your staff member who is in charge of this, you have dealt with us many times over this 9 month joke, standard reply "oh we can't find your details" yes if you can't look harder, yet again terrible service. Yes we are within the 10 year guarantee (and yes it's 10 years as we have shown, proved and Smith's agreed numerous times (contract number 2100239C) hence why I was waiting at home today for my appointment for the blown units to be replaced and you didn't turn up, yet again, if you had read the complaint properly and considered the information as you should you would know this otherwise you wouldn't be replacing faulty units if I was out of your 10 year guarantee would you......! And nor would I have complained I have waited 9 months for them.... Would I.

AVOID! We had windows and a door installed in May 2018. We trusted the fitters and even bunged them a few quid to help motivate them to do a good job. On returning home the first evening my husband ( who himself is a builder) noticed that there was a 100mm gap above the front door which they had covered with a plastic trim. Unfortunately, the fitters had gone home but on return the next morning it was admitted that the front door had been measured incorrectly and it was a temporary fix. Again we took them at their word and off to work we went. As the door was incorrect we had been up front and told the fitters we would not be signing anything so they finished the job and left. On returning that evening and taking a closer look, the windows had been installed not only incorrectly but dangerously. They were at angles with gaps and had not been fixed to any framework so you could actually move the whole casing.......as we had not signed we actually received a call from Smiths threatening to send the fitters back to remove the windows and then to send bailiffs round to recover the money, charming! Now I could say it upset and caused me stress (which in fairness it did a little) but I’m made of stronger stuff than that! No intimidating this lady. Of course this will be denied by them but we know the truth don’t we. Then the games really begin.... Trying to actually get Smiths to answer an email or a phone call is like trying to get blood from a stone. They were not concerned that our house had been left vulnerable due to the gap above the door and not to mention the scratches in the frames etc which in one rare email exchange they described as ‘diminmus’. I’m sure they wouldn’t pay good money for what looks like second hand windows,, They eventually sent an independent surveyor who agreed with our concerns and Smiths sent another couple of fitters. Credit where credits due they were very good and managed to correct and make safe the shoddy work of the previous two. HOWEVER... one of the porch windows were not openers as ordered so yet again we did not sign as the works were not complete. Our only saving grace is that we had not paid a penny. Moving on over 6 months later and now four attempts to change the window (wrong size, opening wrong way, not opening and on Saturday window but with no locking mechanism). We paid a good will gesture of £1000 just last week. We feel though that the good will has been one sided. We haven’t avoided calls or emails we have done our best to take the time off work to fit in with Smiths fitters and surveyors. We have not received any sort of apology or exceptance from smiths that they are in the wrong in fact we have been made to feel we have caused the delay!!. Money was agreed to be knocked off the price but only on our request however after this last fiasco we will be looking for a fairer gesture. We have also reported them to CitizensAdvice who have made Trading Standards aware. Just a small note... The poor ladies on the frontline at Smiths that have to deal with their irate customers whilst the so called directors sit in their comfy offices avoiding their customers at all costs, deserve a medal! ***in reply to Smiths Ltd*** Regarding outstanding payment.... Check your bank account it was paid weeks ago!! Still messing up!!

We ordered windows through Smiths a few months back and afterwards read some very negative reviews and were a little apprehensive. I'm pleased to say the whole process from quotation, survey and fitting was faultlessly carried out. The fitting itself (8 windows) three of which was a bay took only 7 - 8 hours. The guys were extremely friendly and tidy........perhaps it was the tea and cakes lol and I wouldn't hesitate to go back to them if we decide to have a door as well. We opted buy through the buy now and pay later scheme and when we did pay early the process was simple.

First I had A very large patio door fitted very good service had a minor problem but Smiths sent somebody out straight away and fixed the problem, I then had a new outside door fitted and again excellent service I have recommended them to several friends.

Was more than happy with me service from start to finish. From the salesman who came to my house in the thick snow, when another company would not come out to the installers who were not only a good laugh but the speed at which they put the windows in and we’re also clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend Smiths as a company for others to use.

Friends have complimented us on how nice the windows look. The installer s were efficient and got the installation faster than anticipated.

All contact with Smiths Glass was a pleasure and having my windows and doors installed went very smoothly. All personnel I met were of the highest competence and contact on the telephone was a pleasure.

All work on removing old conservatory & replacing with a new one carried out to a high standard, operatives turning up on time, extremely pleasant & cleaning up all mess on completion. Would certainly recommend Smiths Glass.

I was suitably impressed he arrived early, got on with the job, cleaned up and took away the rubbish. My husband and I were delighted with our new patio doors, the service and workmanship that we have ordered a new front door!! Lets hope the service is just as good second time around.
