ABOUT AB K9 TRAINING
Founded by Alice Berwick. I believe that the greatest problem that stands between us and our dogs is lack of communication. At AB K9 Training I will teach you how to speak the same language as your dog. How to understand what they're trying to tell you and show you how to ask them in a way they understand. I am a positive dog trainer using force free methods, the kindest way is not always the fastest way but it's always the best way. I also work with dogs with behavioural issues, dogs that struggle to fit in to day to day life. I can help these dogs find their confidence and learn how to cope with the stresses and complications they may encounter in every day life. All of my sessions are one to one and are tailored specifically to each dog and owners needs. My main priority is setting you and your dog up to be the perfect partnership.
I am fully insured and certified by the Institute Of Modern Dog Training and The Dog Training College.

Over the last two years Alice has not just been a trainer for Olive but a real committed and trusted partner and friend for us in Olive’s development. Her dedication and support through all of the ups and downs of puppyhood and adolescence has been completely vital and our dog would not be the dog she is now without Alice. Alice’s calm and friendly approach to training has helped us truly understand and best nurture our somewhat anxiety-prone dog. Notwithstanding her busy schedule Alice always makes time for us and Olive. We couldn’t recommend her highly enough!

Nov 24,2023Wonderful bespoke dog training I went to Alice with a very confident and feisty border terrier puppy who definitely knows her own mind! Despite the best intentions and reading books, I was not getting very far and was pretty demoralised. Not only did Alice's positive approach make me feel so reassured, but her techniques have resulted in a much reformed and wonderful little dog. Her confidence is reassuring and justified! Her approach is only positive and she finds fun ways to get even the most independent of dogs to be more interested in you rather than dogs/ squirrels etc. She is professional, full of energy and fun. Also highly recommend her dog agility days - just so much fun and lots of take away techniques. Training a puppy/ dog is hard work but if you're going to put all the time and work in, you want to know that what you are doing is the right thing. Would (and have) recommend. Thank you Alice!

Nov 23,2023Our Ridgeback recently attended one of Alice's Agility training sessions and just had the best time. Didn't think she would stay focused for the whole session but Alice made it fun and challenging for the dogs and knew when to give them a break to play. Highly recommend it - you'll have one happy and exhausted dog afterwards (and you might learn a thing or two as well)!

Open minded, highly intuitive and knowledgeable, she immediately perceived my adolescent Labrador Retriever’s personality, struggles and needs. She provided me with great tools and advice. It has allowed me to build trust with Toby so he can be let off leash and to behave himself. She’s helped make Toby into a wonderfully behaved dog and it’s made my life and his much better!!

I have a (now) 2 year old crazy show cock spaniel Otis, Alice has been great with not only getting to know Otis, his character and mannerisms, but also each member of our family, and the dynamics, to structure the training and new techniques around. Alice has great patience, and has gone the extra mile in ensuring that each session is tailored specially to Otis, and the areas in which he needs to work on. To complicate things, we have recently gotten a new pup, another crazy show cocker spaniel (Frankie), and have signed up for an additional package to train Frankie and work with both dogs together. 👍

Nov 24,2022My stubborn naughty terrier and I worked with Alice for a few months and it was a wonderful experience. She is a truly gifted trainer who uses only positive reinforcement, is kind, very knowledgeable and makes each session fun and productive. We had problems with recall, barking, walking, and a few other issues and the progress has been remarkable. Having a trainer who also understands living in a busy London area has really helped. I could not recommend Alice highly enough - don't hesitate to work with her.

She has trained two dogs for me now, both rescues and both quite tricky at times. They are now both way more settled, their recall is reliable (even in the busy parks of London) and I’m happier than ever with them. Totally recommend!

Nov 12,2022Alice has been a wonderful trainer with our puppy Miniature American Shepherd. We were having issues with leash walking, reactivity in the park, him jumping on everyone he could see... She was extremely patient with him and her knowledge of dogs psychology was very helpful. She helped us understand what we were doing wrong and what we could do going forward. Not only does she train them very well but you can tell she genuinely cares about your dog and she kept in touch to see how we were doing. We felt reassured after meeting with her as we were a bit lost with the education of our dog. I would recommend her premium services to anyone who needs some help with their dog.

Oct 24,2022We approached Alice with our 3 month old deaf (and naughty) cocker spaniel and after one session signed up for her puppy package and haven't looked back since. Alice has taught us how to communicate with our puppy in a way that uses positive reinforcement and rewards her with the things she loves most - playtime and treats. Alice is full of helpful advice about how to get your dog used to be alone, sleeping through the night etc and she is endlessly patient and non-judgmental when we frequently get things wrong. Pickle is now house-trained, walking to heel almost the whole the time and her recall (which is the biggest challenge for a deaf dog) is comparable to other dogs of the same age and she's able to be off lead most of the time in the park which would have been unimaginable without Alice. Recent breakthrough with her separation anxiety too and we can now leave her for three hours and still increasing. As first time dog owners we were pretty nervous about training a deaf puppy but Alice has made the whole thing feel totally manageable and enabled us to enjoy this fun time while Pickle is still a puppy. Alice has also helped us to squeeze in training sessions around busy work days and on weekends. Pickle loves our sessions and still has lots to learn so we won't be stopping just yet but could not recommend AB K9 more. Thank you, Alice!

Oct 24,2022I tried a couple of trainers and I would recommend only Alice. And I recommend her extremely highly and wholeheartedly. I have found Alice to be a truly gifted Sherpa for dogs and their owners who want to learn about how to have a great connection with their dog. Mine had her issues and has turned in a short time into a wonderful thing. If you are looking for an exceptional trainer I unreservedly recommend trying to get a space with Alice immediately, as she’s got something special, and teaches you and your dog generously quickly and incredibly skilfully and with a great nature

Oct 24,2022We’ve been training with Alice for a while since our whippet puppy, Alaska, was about 3 months old. Alice came highly recommended and there’s good reason for that. Alice is amazing - she cares so much about Alaska, is non-judgemental when we ask stupid questions, tailors Alaska’s training each time and adapts depending on the conditions / Alaska’s mood etc. Alice is Alaska’s favourite person, she ALWAYS looks forward to her training sessions, as do we! We think Alice might actually be a dog whisperer — we honestly couldn’t recommend Alice enough, our lessons are so fun and we really look forward to them every week. Alaska has not just picked up the basics in no time but is also starting to learn obedience and advanced dog behaviours, most things we didn’t think were ever possible. Alice has made our first experience of owning a dog so much fun. Thanks Alice!

Jan 09,2024Alice are the BEST trainer we ever had for Phoebe. Phoebe just IN LOVE with her and so are we. All the classes were very useful and the after-class exercise notes were very tailor to what we/Phoebe needs. We felt very comfortable during all the classes with Alice and became more confident with Phoebe, and I think Phoebe will agree too :).
