Like many people, my ideal trader is one who takes responsibility for the quality of their work and can be relied on to address any issues surrounding product quality and standard of work. The garage door I had fitted by Accent Doors had a number of issues (some, to be fair, their supplier’s responsibility). Although it has taken some time these issues have now been addressed.
I was impressed with my garage door, very professional from start to finish although my view was slightly soured because the lock was only held on with two bolts with another bolt found lying on the ground. I contacted the managing director but to date nothing has been done and sadly my emails x2 have been ignored. I tried sourcing the bolt myself but could not find one in any of the stores. I asked the director of Accent, if he wished to just post a bolt on to me but sadly that was one of the emails that had been ignored. Poor aftercare.
Brilliant service from start to finish! We had our Hormann garage door fitted and the garage fully insulated which has made a massive difference. Graham was very knowledgeable and very quick to complete all the work. Great service and brilliant finish, we would highly recommend and will use them again.

Apr 30,2023Rather long but accurate experience. I have an electric remote control door fitted to my garage which was built May 2010. The builder used Turners Roller Doors Ltd from East Kilbride to supply and install the complete roller door assembly. In February 2015 the NVM make electric tube motor burned out and so I got Turners to call, and they replaced the tube motor again with a different model NVM make tube motor. Total cost £250.00 In February 2023 the tube motor again stopped working and so I contacted Turners again and although I could of got them to replace it again I decided to try someonelse I phoned Accent as they are a local company and spoke to Graham. Found him to be most knowledgeable about this subject. Gave the history of the garage door to him and he recommended the fitting of a Somfy make electric tube motor further explaining that this make is the market leader in this subject but it was a bit more expensive. He thought around £300.00 mibby a little bit more plus cost to install it. I thanked him for his help saying I would have a think about it. Later same day I phoned him back and honestly said to him that I liked what I heard and asked him to do the job giving him accurate dimensions of the door. The company e mailed a quote to me which clearly states “ Somfy RDS Helios drive installation included” and shows unit price of £541.67 Total cost £650.00 Paid it upfront and two weeks later (10-02-23) the installers came. I showed them the original NVM make faulty tube motor which I had kept in the box from the replacement motor and the installers realised that the tube motor they had with them in their van was under powered. They phoned it in to whoever to get the right tube motor. It was thought at this time that the problem was that the tube motor they had was suited to an aluminium type construction roller door whereas mine is steel thus being more heavy to lift for the electric motor. I had no problem with this as things go wrong The installers left and returned seven days later with a more powerful tube motor and fitted it without any issues whatsoever. Problem I have is that they supplied a NVM make tube motor same model as the original one. I did some checking and found on E bay that I can purchase the identical NVM tube motor brand new boxed and delivered for £80.00 from an E Bay seller down south who trades in this type of stuff. Phoned Graham about this as I feel that I have been overcharged for what they have supplied. He is always very respectful when you speak to him and explained that that is what their suppler supplied as suitable but that he would check the invoice for what they paid for the part but did say that they would have paid more than £80.00. I have spoken to him a further two times and always get I will check the company’s invoice to see what they paid. This is not about a couple of hundred pounds overcharging it’s the principle of the thing. In my opinion if you sell a market leader component to someone and actually quote the component on the invoice as this installation included, as well as the quote then that’s what you should get or a more reasonable cost involved.
