I bought an item that was supposedly in stock, I was charged immediately, and only one week later when I sent an e-mail asking what was the status of the order, I was told that actually they didn’t have the item and that they didn’t know when would they have it again. Then, I was offered two alternatives or a refund. I chose the refund, the lady told me that she had already sent my information to the responsible department and that I should get my money back up to seven working days, but that it should actually take one or two. It’s been twelve working days, I’ve sent them an e-mail already and didn’t get any response. If I hadn’t seen the other bad reviews I would think that this was a scam, after all it’s just lack of professionalism.
I return to this company repeatedly as it is reliable and gives good value.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID ! I don't like giving negative reviews but this business does not seen to care about customer service or Consumer Contracts Legislation. They advertises goods in stock when they don't have them and when you order online they immediately take payment from your credit card. Then when your goods don’t arrive and you call to find out why they tell you the items aren't in stock and can't say when you will get them. They don't provide a refund when you cancell the order within a few days and before any goods are shipped and when you chase the refund you are given pathetic excuses like “we have only 2 people that can process refunds and they are both away for 2 weeks”. Eventually I had to raise a dispute with Visa as no refund was given by them.
Alan Gregory Music advertised on their website a “double ended trombone cleaner”. I received a single ended one. The picture on their website clearly showed two single ended cleaners side by side, I ought to have taken this up with trading standards. I returned the item and after numerous complaining e mails they eventually refunded part of the amount I paid. At my last contact with them 14 days ago I was told they would send the remainder of the refund immediately. I am still waiting. I have given up hope of ever recovering my money directly and will ask my card provider for a charge back. Unless you want to risk loosing money avoid this company they are not good people to do business with, and please advise your musician friends to do the same.
Terrible. Website says items in stock, payment taken then told not in stock. Had to escalate a PayPal dispute to get a refund, never again.
Had a Hiscox Euphonium case recommended to me but these are incredibly difficult to get. My case had fallen apart and I was travelling to a contest in under a week. From my initial contact, James from Alan Gregory had sourced one, got it into their shop and had it delivered in Northern Ireland within 4 working days. Absolutely first class service. James also stayed in contact with regular updates. Cannot praise this company highly enough.
Gave this company an online order for a product advertised as being in stock. The money was debited from my account the same day. I received an email from them on that same day informing me the product is not actually in stock. I asked for an immediate refund. Over two weeks later and despite emailing them several times, I am still waiting for my refund. I would suggest that unless you are happy for money to be removed from your account for indefinite periods you avoid this company like the plague
Re previous review I am still waiting for the refund of the VAT on the item I returned despite being promised it on 25.2.19. Bad service seems to be endemic not an accident.
I honestly don’t know how these people stay in business. Terrible service - took my money straight away but didn’t send the item (mouth piece for brass instrument) and ignored my follow up emails. This went on for over a week. Eventually, after a few more emails and me threatening to get PayPal involved, they agreed to a refund. The refund came through a further week later. Overall, a complete waste of my time.
I am waiting for a BRAND tuba mouthpiece and booster I ordered at the very end of December 2018. I realize things take time to ship; however, on two occasions I have e-mailed to inquire about when I can expect delivery. I have not received a response yet.
"Ready to ship today" means "we will ship 2 business days later and we will ship item that is not on the picture". They say that it is newer version, but I wanted the older. Btw, they are aware of that and, three weeks later, there is still wrong picture and description.

Found the best price for a Yamaha Sax, and ordered it in the evening. The item was processed and despatched within a day, then delivered to London, the next day. I spoke briefly to a guy at their HQ and he was very helpful. I would definitely recommend Alan Gregory Music.
Owe me money for something that I cancelled before they sent it out as it didn't match what they had on their website. Over a week and they still got my money. Have had to open a dispute on paypal. I should of read the reviews on here. Sounds like something they do a lot. And by some of the reviews on here they also sell fake stuff. Avoid this shop.
Avoid it at all cost. Should have read these reviews before going there. So...ordered an item, payed for it, no mail ou whatsoever explaining when will I receive the package, opened a claim in PayPal. After filing a claim I did get an answer offering me the same article but in other color, the one I ordered was out of stock. Didn't accept and asked for a refund, still didn't get an answer... Coming from shopping on Thomman and Musichouse, this is just too amateur and unreliable
I ordered a Rovna Dark Soprano Sax Ligature, a Yanagisawa Metal Soprano Sax Mouthpiece and some Vandoren Mouthpiece Patches. These were ordered on 8th May 2018. They have finally arrived today 18th May and are as ordered. A couple of days after I ordered them I rang Alan Gregory's to ask why the goods had not been dispatched. They explained the mouthpiece was not in stock and they would now order one in. The website said the mouthpiece was in stock and ready to ship which was my only reason for placing the order! I followed the phone-call up with an e.mail to say that unless they could supply a delivery date I would wish to cancel the order (note they had already received my money and had not informed me there was a delay in supply). I did get an e.mail to say that the mouthpiece was on its way to them and a further e.mail saying the supplier had sent the wrong item but the correct one would follow immediately. Had I read the numerous poor customer ratings for this firm before, rather than after I placed the order I would certainly not have used them, and after my experience of them never will again.
