Jun 16,2021I approached Author Help earlier this year to assist me in having a family memoir published. I had previously looked at doing the editing myself but became rather overwhelmed, and felt I needed some professional advice. I felt supported and part of the process through the whole project, with either Jen or Robin confirming with me at each step that I was happy with the work they had done. They were patient when I had delays at my end, and the final product is fantastic. I would definitely recommend Author Help for anyone needing advice on publishing a book for personal or commercial use.

They helped me take the chapters of a book, by various authors (not all of whom had written in English as first language), and turn them into a high-quality, polished manuscript adhering to extremely fiddly guidelines. They have an excellent eye for detail. They were very clear about what would be involved and required at all stages of the process, and were extremely professional, also working to some rather tight timescales, for which I am grateful. A real pleasure to work with, and well worth every penny. Definitely deserving of an acknowledgement in the book!

Oct 08,2020As I remember I started working with Author Help in 2018 after my publishers wife died and he decided to pack it in and sail around the world. With a manuscript in hand, I needed someone to help me publish my novel, The Hunt for Madoff's Treasure and after speaking to some professors in the English department at a local college, they told me about a young editor who was making a name for herself and I sent her my book to edit. With that out of the way, I now needed someone to produce the book. Someone who knew the in's and out's of the publishing industry...so I consulted, The Alliance of Independent Authors and they recommended Author Help in the UK. At first I was a little eerie of working with someone on the other end of the world but I was sure he'd speak English. Well, to my surprise Robin Phillips of Author Help was the real deal. Yes he could edit the manuscript, format it for Kindle and print, he could or have one of his contractors, come up the layouts, the fonts, the jacket designs, the copy, a webpage, I can go on and on. You know, I got into the writing profession...writing novels late in life. As a youngster I cut my teeth on Madison Ave as a advertising exec at Ogilvy, (the largest advertising agency in the world) then ran marketing at RCA, Digital, and John Hancock. At that stage I was really spoiled...whatever I needed, I had a whole department to do whatever I wanted in print, video, and internet production...so finding Robin at Author Help was dream come true. Look, I'm eighty-years old and I luckily found a young (compared to me) man who I could send my manuscipt to knowing it was in good hands. He was honest with me and made important decisions in every aspect in the production of the book. "You have too much copy of the back cover to fit the photo in." When I asked him to enlarge my photo with the Abbey of Mont Saint-Michel in the background. He was right. When I told him my eyes were failing and couldn't read the copy, he increased the size and it came out beautiful. And did I mention, Robin handles all my books printing and advertising with Amazon. Look, I just received my latest book from Amazon, "Love And Revenge...A legacy of War." and it came out perfect...especially my photo on the back cover.

May 28,2020I highly recommend using Author help. As a new author I needed a lot of support and Russell was great. Not only did he do the work that I needed - putting my book on retail sites, he made suggestions and answered all my questions in an easy to understand manner. He was quick to get back to my emails as well. I have nothing negative to say about my experience working with Russell. He was easy to work with, knowledgeable and efficient. His rates were also very reasonable. He seems to truly want to help the new author! I will definitely use him again for any help I need.

I cannot be more pleased with the job Robin did in guiding me through the publishing process: setting up social media pages, proofreading my manuscript, formatting the books for KDP and IngramSpark, arranging the cover design, uploading the finished product, etc. Robin could not have been more professional and helpful. It was a priority for him that I come out of the experience with the book I wanted. He would answer my questions and offer advice when asked, but from the outset, he was clear that it was my novel and I should end up with the book I envisioned. And I did.
