Dec 14,2024I’m convinced they just collect information with no intent to loan. I applied for a loan almost 2 weeks ago. I make almost 6 figures, applying for a $5000 loan That I was pre-approved through using Acorn. Every time I called to check the status, They read from a script saying that it’s still under review by a manager, please continue to check the dashboard. I’m almost certain most of the positive reviews are fake. I have good credit, a good job… I wish I would’ve just applied for a line of credit at my bank. Beware, they will waste your time. I plan on disputing the credit pull.

This process was so easy and within minutes I was approved for a great amount that helped me get out of my bind. Never had an experience this easy before and I loved it. Monthly payments are affordable as well.

Dec 12,2024Around September, 2024 I once again had my identity stolen. I kept paying my Avant card because it was within my reach. After that everything went haywire. Avant sent me a new card giving me the impression that it was time for a renewal. Upon destroying the old card and activating the new one the new one was rejected. When I called to inquire why they said, "this is an attempt to collect a debt." I responded, "what debt?" my account is current. When I asked to explain why they had shut my card down as I had not been late on 1 payment in almost 3 years they kept responding this is an attempt to collect a debt. Therefore I told them I would not make any more payments until they straightened this out and I was not going to go back and pick up previous months payments due to their error. Well here we are December 11, 2024. They wrote me a letter indicated that I was in fact correct and indicated I would have a new card in 7-14 days. I have the new card, have not activated and they are showing once again that I am in the state of them trying to collect a debt. This has got to be one of the most fly by night companies I have ever been involved with. If they think I'm giving them another dime they are crazier than I thought. Until they figure this out they can eat shit. Additionally I told them I wanted to contact corporate and they told me they had neither a phone number or address.

Dec 12,2024Avant refuses to pay back my incidentals that were supposed to be returned in 24-48 hours of check out from my hotel and return of my rental car. The Marriott and Thrifty rental company maintain the card company is responsible for releasing the funds. It has been over six months of calling and now they say it’s past the 6 month mark so I’m responsible for the charges. I was not given any goods or services for these charges, totaling almost $600, as these were ‘incidental’ charges. I was hung up on multiple times and transferred from person to person so many times. Zero communication between departments as this was a simple release of funds that could have been easily communicated and taken care of instantly. At this point it’s fraudulent and theft, until it is taken care of and the funds are returned.

Dec 11,2024Avant chooses to not participate in any kind of non-profit counseling help with debt, rather to stoop to predatory practices of not letting a person out of debt, but to stack on extra late fees etc. They love to force you over limit, so they can add on extra late and over limit fees. Please beware of predatory lenders preying on the poor.
