If you are looking for a transformational gym, this is the place for you. I have a bad knee and squats and lunges I thought were out of the picture for me. However, after some modifications, I am able to do them again. They really take the time to make sure you are working out properly and do not hurt yourself. Not only are the physical aspects beneficial but mentally you feel stronger. I would highly recommend Bent On Better. Their staff is amazing.
I'd give 6 stars to Bent on Better! I've been a member since 11/2021. I've worked out consistently my entire adult life and I love lifting weights. I joined their fat loss challenge in January. I'm confident lifting weights but knew my diet was trash. The challenge included a meal plan tailored to me. Suggested calories, protein, carbs and fat were in the plan. I tried some new recipes, cut out the trash and kept lifting weights. To my surprise I was the female winner. In addition to the a good exercise program the trainers are amazing. The class size allows the trainers to meet the member wherever they may be in their fitness journey and modify any exercise as needed.
Just completed a 6-week fat loss challenge at B.O.B. I successfully achieved a 22% reduction in body fat thanks to the guidance of the B.O.B. trainers and the competition!! Prior to the challenge I knew I wanted to loss some weight, but Matt April helped put that into perspective, "do you want to lose weight or lose fat?". Fairly obvious choice! The B.O.B. trainers put together a target calorie and meal plan down to the amount of proteins/carbs/fats per day. It was up to me to follow through on that plan, utilizing a meal tracking app. I was also upon me to be consistent in the gym. I maintained an average of 4x per week on strength training at the gym. At the end of the 6 weeks, not only did I lose the fat percentage, I also gained muscle mass! Sincerely appreciate all the support of this B.O.B. FAMILY!!
I’ve been going to Bent on Better for over a year now. I was a former college athlete and competitive powerlifter who stopped working out regularly for 10 years before joining Bent on Better. As someone who always had a program to follow, I struggled creating a program on my own. I had many starts and stops during my 10-year hiatus and hurt my back while trying to get back into shape. I swore I would never squat again due to multiple knee injuries during my football career. The team at Bent on Better helped me rebuild my technique, strengthen my core, and learn new movements. I’m back to power movements in a healthy and safe way. Even squats! I’ve had past injuries flare up, and worked with Nick to modify workouts and get back on track. The team at Bent on Better takes the guesswork out of building a program. The workouts change every month, and the trainers find ways to modify/challenge each individual. The 5:30am class has been a blast. It's a great group of people and always a fair dose of healthy competition!

Prior to coming to Bent on Better I hadn’t tried much because I was intimated by the gym atmosphere and my lack of knowledge. I have been a vegetarian most of my life, but have not been eating healthy. Matt is so welcoming and knowledgable. He sat down with me and laid out a plan that is sustainable and made me feel excited. While Matt knows tons about physical fitness he knows just as much about nutrition. He got me on a meal plan that works for me and explained why making the changes were important. I was overwhelmed at first because I've never been into cooking, but the recipes are easy to make and taste great. The trainers here are amazing. After only a week of classes I’m noticing differences. I have more energy, feel fuller and feel better mentally. Cass and Molly are excellent trainers. They are so supportive, but also push you to reach your potential. They check in with you frequently to make sure you feel the exercise in the right place and help you make adjustments if you don’t. Everyone I’ve met so far at Bent on Better has been very kind. I actually look forward coming into class each day. Joining Bent on Better has been the absolute best investment I have made in myself. I’m so excited to see my future self.
I can't say enough great things about Bent on Better! Since I've started in March 2023 I've never felt better! Ive already completed 50+ classes! The trainers are amazing and the members are always pushing you and cheering you on! They have so much to offer! I promised myself that I would finally invest in my health and this place is the way to do it!
I originally joined with the idea that I would learn how to workout for three months and then switch to the local YMCA. A year later I can't imagine ever leaving. The coaches are amazing--the biggest cheerleaders, but able to tailor the workout to fit someone (like myself) with physical challenges like a bad back. They know how to push you to be your best, and are an amazing resource. I cannot recommend Bent on Better enough. They literally changed my mind from hating exercising to loving it!

I have learned about strength training, nutrition, modification, injuries, etc. They have so much to offer, but the best part is their small classes, so you're basically working out with a personal trainer without the cost of one. Start taking care of yourself. . . contact Matt April at Bent On Better and step into a whole new world where there is no judgement. . . only encouragement and support from coaches and members themselves! Trust me. I know from experience. I haven't stayed because I "have nothing else to do". I stay because, at 66 years old, I look forward to learning and doing as much as I can to stay as healthy as I can for as long as I can!
