I ordered next day delivery of a range of plants to a friend’s address before they left to go on holiday. The person didn’t even hear the delivery person knock but received a missed delivery notice recieved. That part is fine as these things happen, I don’t blame the company for that, took it on the chin and promptly informed both the courier and company it needs to be returned as delivery won’t be possible anymore (which was why I selected next day because anytime after that day would be too late). I contacted the company to say these need to be returned and explained very clearly it is still with the courier and will need to be returned by them as I can’t accept delivery to that address (you will recall although I placed the order it is not my address). When I told the courier company they said only the sender can give them instruction to return it so I made sure I focused on liaising with this company to ensure prompt return. So now what you would expect is the company to promptly instruct the courier to take the parcel back and return it to them and ensure it reaches them in a timely manner (as this is the courtier they’ve hired) so I can have a refund (minus delivery fees of £8 that I paid of course, as mentioned I don’t mind that part) ? but no. I checked with the courier company and 4 days later they still didn’t give them any such instruction. Of course when I checked with the company they claimed they had done it immediately like the liars they are, yet somehow this didn’t reach them till *one week and three days* later. Of course by that time they claimed the plants had withered but this company didn’t care because they knew they were just passing on the supposed damage cost to me. My issue is not about the initial delivery my issue is they did absolutely nothing to ensure the goods reaches them on time then I get the costs removed from my order and my return amount suddenly became ..... £5. Do not trust these crooks, when there’s an issue they’re rude and unhelpful and they’ll just stupidly regurgitate the same info that you already know (and don’t have issue with) despite you repeatedly explain what your actual issue is. Charging me admin fee, delivery fee and damage to plant fee for something I instantly said would need to be returned yet through their shoddy service/courier service took 1 week 3 days. Crooks. Update: absolute joke. Look at their reply “Increasingly aggressive tone” ask them to point out any email or quote a sentence within an email that was “aggressive tone” they just don’t like being held accountable (and also the fact I’ve left this review now calling them crooks). Order at your own peril because once they have your money they couldn’t care less what happens if something needs to be returned they will keep regurgitating timelines ( like they’ve done below). Also I took a screenshot of the Parcelforce tracking. It Clearly shows that even 4 days after I had liaised with both them and the courier company it was still held at the couriers (parcelforce) depot and *not* on the way back to them so of course it only arrived one week three days later. A sensible company would’ve followed up to ensure perishable goods are returned to them promptly, but instead they think their laissez faire approach (to the delivery company they hired) absolves them. As if I am the one with a Parcelforce contract. Written Tracking info doesn’t lie and it doesn’t match up with what they say! They are in the response talking about “refusing delivery without reasonable cause” despite the fact I told them in every email and also in this review (as per the above) I had no way of accepting the delivery because *****I do not live at the delivery address and the person has now gone because of the missed deadline****. I explained this to them from the beginning. I’m not sure how “I don’t live there so can’t accept delivery and the person who lives there isn’t there” isn’t a reasonable cause for items to be returned? As I repeated a thousand times I had no issue with the delivery fee (£8) deduction. The delivery company charge you for sending items back (which you pass that admin charge on to the customer) yet you can’t ensure prompt return or waiver of that charge? 1 week 3 days. Absolute joke. You can tell they do not have a leg to stand on as they keep referring to this deadline as if that’s the issue and not the actual return of the items (which is what I said they would do above)!!!
All plants ordered were very healthy, well packed and arrived very quickly, (ordered on Sunday and arrived on Tuesday). I would have no hesitation in recommending bioactiveherps.
I have purchased twice from this company. The first time went smoothly, the second one not so much. The company unfortunately didn't print the entire address for their label, as given by me when checking out, which resulted in a delay in delivery when I needed the parcel as scheduled. I would advise the company to actually use the full address customers provide to avoid this in future. Reluctant to shop from here again because of this.
Brilliant selection of edible plants, my tortoise loves them 🙂. Customer service very good quick to reply if any issue.
Ordered some plants from this company and I’m very happy with what arrived. The plants were excellent quality and arrived well packaged. Would definitely order from them again.

Sep 07,2022Purchased from them 3 times, first two everything was great, but on 3rd time not so much. I ordered live springtails and paid extra for DHL delivery just so I can redirect the parcel to a pickup shop in case they deliver on a day I am not home. Instead they mailed it with Royal Mail, parcel was left outside all day and it had rained. When I opened the box, containers were (intentionally) laying on a side instead of standing upright! As a result all the clay moved to the side of the pots making it impossible to open and transfer springtails without having all clay fall out in a massive lump. Ok, one mistake could happen to anyone, but two in the same transaction is too much, considering I’ve spent over £30 on this order. All I got was a £2 refund for the shipping. I wouldn’t feel confident buying live insects from them again.
