The Buccleuch nestles in a picturesque valley surrounded by the rolling Moffat Hills. The small town of Moffat is perfectly and conveniently situated just 2 miles from the M74, the primary route between Scotland and England.
The area surrounding Moffat offers a unique undulating landscape with many hills and valleys, rivers and Lochs. This truly is the ideal base to stay a few days and explore this beautiful, gentle and almost undiscovered part of Scotland.
The Buccleuch is well renowned for its excellent food in the aptly named "Beef Tub Comfort Grill", are particularly proud of the quality and pedigree of their raw product. Wherever possible this product is sourced nearby provided it meets our quality criteria. The hotel boasts a proud ancestry dating from 1760 which is reflected in its architecture and every effort has been made to retain some of the olde world charm.

Aug 06,2022We love staying at this hotel. Family run and always treated well. Great food, great staff, great dog friendly place to be. Hotel has great character and the decor is lovely. Ideal location just off M74 we always stop here on our way to Scotland. A warm welcome always, nothing is too much trouble to make our stay perfect. Highly recommend this hotel. The place to stay in Moffat. ❤️

Aug 16,2020We stayed at the Buccleuch Arms hotel for one night in August, on our journey up to Inverness. It had not long re-opened after the Covid-19 lockdown. The room was basic, but perfectly adequate and dog friendly. What really made us LOVE this hotel, was the people. Every member of the team we met were fantastic. They were very helpful, extremely welcoming and really could not do enough for us... just excellent hospitality. The full Scottish breakfast in the morning was also excellent!!! We would definitely stay here again.

Aug 20,2024Excellent place to stay . Great food , good bar , friendly family run hotel , nothing is to much trouble . Very bike friendly , power washer , cleaning products, compressor etc. I would definitely go back.
