I had the worst experience with C&C Surveying—now rebranding as Precision Surveyors, but don’t be fooled; it’s the same company with the same poor service. Here’s a detailed account of my experience, which I hope will save others from the frustration I went through. Severe Delays Without Justification • They initially promised to issue the report within 5 working days. After this period passed without any communication, I had to follow up via email, which went unanswered. When I finally called, they claimed the report was undergoing an audit. After 10 working days and more chasing, they sent a report—without the costing, even though I had paid for the full report. I had to provide proof of payment, and it took another 2 working days for them to revise it. In total, it took 12 working days to receive the report, double the time they originally promised. • After receiving the report, I had some queries. They assured me they would respond within 3 working days, so I scheduled another visit with the agent for 5 days later. However, it took another week for them to respond, and even then, they missed several of my questions. This delay rendered their feedback useless during the site visit. Consistent Dishonesty • Before I made the payment, they assured me they had enough resources to carry out the survey the following week. After I paid, they delayed the visit by 10 working days. When I called to reschedule, they kept saying they would try but never followed up. After three days of persistent calls, they finally rescheduled the survey to the originally promised date—subject to confirmation with the agent. Later, they claimed the agent refused the visit on that day and pushed it back another 10 working days. Suspicious, I contacted the agent directly, who confirmed there was no issue with access, as the property was vacant. When I informed C&C Surveying, they suddenly "resolved" the issue. • When following up on the report, I spoke with Tina Wall, who promised to follow up with the surveyor and call me back that afternoon. Of course, I never received a call. When I called the office again, her colleagues informed me that Tina hadn’t been in the office all day, meaning she had lied about following up. Unsurprisingly, I received no update that day. Lack of Responsiveness • C&C Surveying rarely responded to emails unless I called them multiple times. Often, no one answered the phone, and it took several attempts to reach someone. Every time Tina Wall promised to return my call or reply to an email, she failed to do so, requiring me to follow up repeatedly. Unprofessionalism and Lack of Accountability • The report I received was riddled with contradictions. For instance, the water section stated that the water couldn't be tested as the stopcock was closed, while the boiler section claimed the hot water pressure was satisfactory. When I questioned this, they dismissed it as a "typo error," making it clear that much of the report was copied from a template. • To this day, I still don't know the name or qualifications of the surveyor who conducted the survey. The report contained no identifying information, and C&C Surveying refused to provide the surveyor’s contact details. I’m not sure if this is even legal, but I’m looking into my options for filing a formal complaint. Ignoring complaint • Despite the terms and conditions stating that there is a complaint mechanism, the complaint email never responds, regardless of how many emails I send. I have now filed a formal complaint with RICS and am awaiting their reply. I will keep updating this thread to share how to escalate a complaint against this company if I successfully compel them to provide feedback. If you value your time, money, and sanity, avoid C&C Surveying/Precision Surveyors at all costs. Their service is unreliable, dishonest, and unprofessional. Save yourself the headache and choose a different company.

A disappointing experience with C&C. They produced what looked like a thorough Homebuyers survey on our property. But when we moved in, we discovered two of our electric hobs had been smashed. The report made no mention of this. Our report had two (small) pictures showing the hob had been concealed by a ceramic slab. However, the narrative of the report made no mention of our surveyor being unable to view our entire hob or advising us to seek further information about this. When I queried this. the company quoted various Ts and Cs at me (basically the surveyor couldn't inspect things which are 'concealed', they say. But surely this doesn't preclude them from 'pointing out' that they were concealed?!) and in the end rather patronising. We went with C&C because they offered a competitive price - my advice would be to spend the money on someone more thorough!

Really unprofessional company. Raised a dispute with the company on the homebuyers rics report they have no complaint procedure and they don’t respond after multiple emails. I moved in and then see so many things they had not correctly levelled them at. Plug sockets off the walls windows were shocking have gapping holes in and don’t even close properly doors are so old and broken but we’re levelled at 3 meaning no repairs needed. I sent the company the rics process who said they are not rics insured but yet they claim the report is rics and they list the surveyor number for the rics. I have now filed a complained with RICs who are investigating. The company has gone off the radar on the companies house report but then they do this change name again and start again. I would avoid at all costs use your money to a legitimate company that will do there job and if anything was incorrect use there insurance to make things right! I’m now having to fork out thousands to replace it all and would have if I had know the state of them raised prior to exchanging contracts to reduce the price so I could get these all done.

Missed damp issues, they did not even inspect the room with issues according to the report. I had a survey done and they missed a major issue in one of the bedrooms. They failed to spot a wall with serious damp issues, due to water being let in externally, a visual inspection would have spotted this but it seems they did not enter the room at all according to the report. Very disappointed with C&C Surveying here and now I am faced with repairing these issues. Tina Wall has also repeatedly ignored me.

Please be warned about this company. The Home Buyer Level 2 survey was never carried out. It appears that scammers are using this company, which is in the process of being dissolved as of 1 July 2024, according to Companies House's filing record, to gain customers. They ask customers to make a payment to book the survey. When I tried to request the report two weeks later, their phone number (which they had called me from) and their website were deactivated. The scammers' credentials were Fraser Thomas. Please be warned and do not fall into their trap.

Was chased and contacted constantly when getting a quote. So booked and paid waited nearly 4 weeks for the survey to be done and now over four weeks since having the survey done no report back contract stated 5 days. All they keep saying is it’s gone for an internal audit and they don’t know when it will be back. Rubbish even if it was being audited they would have a timescale I work in a business that has audits and it’s generally 2-3 days. This is delaying our exchange

This company has been dissolved - paid in advance for a level 3 survey and were given no communications about any issues. Phone numbers etc. all now out of service and dissolution filed on Companies House but have since received communications from Precision Surveyors who must be replacing C&C

I requested a RISC 2 survey from this company. We scheduled the survey for July 2nd, and after that, they just disappeared. I tried to contact them several times, but there was only one response saying that they're working on it. Now it's two weeks after the survey date, and I have not received any further responses.

Survey took place on 25th June. It is now day 16. The portal not being updated to show status. I am now being ignored. I was told on Friday 5th July that i would receive the survey and report within 2-3 working days. I am still waiting. Chased twice via email and phone call and now not receiving a response from Farah in the client care team. Totally unacceptable when paying for a service. We are talking of completion dates and I dont have the survey to refer to. I keep asking for it to be escalated or can i have the complaints procedure and i am not being provided with this.

Absolutely wrong review. I booked a Level 3 survey from C&C Surveying. Level 3 is the highest level of survey where the faults should be reported. Even before the survey, I told them about a specific room to focus. They just did a casual survey and on the report mentioned the house is in good condition. Now after purchase my builder showed the entire ground floor is damped, with water condensed under the carpet. I had to rip off the entire floor, replace all joist as they were damped and broken. They just did visual inspection which anyone can do.

Not respecting the deadlines: when selling the service they promise a 5 working day turnaround, which is not true! They have a nice portal to track the progress, but which they only update upon several calls. They did book the survey without even confirming the day/time. 2 weeks after the survey and I am still waiting for the report, I called them a couple of times and all they can say is that they are waiting to hear back from the senior surveyor. Because of their delay we had to postpone our exchange to a date still to be defined

I am very disappointed with the service I received. I paid for a service with the understanding that the delivery time was five working days, as specified in the contract. Unfortunately, the company failed to meet this deadline. Their response to my concerns about the delay was that my report was undergoing an auditing process to ensure quality. This quality should be guaranteed within the agreed timeframe, not used as an excuse for late delivery. The delay has disrupted my entire process, and their inability to meet contractual obligations is unacceptable. Additionally, the customer service is unresponsive to my questions, and it is impossible to speak with a manager. This lack of communication is extremely frustrating and unprofessional.

I had a home buyers level 2 survey with C&C and they absolutely exceeded my expectations. They quoted the best fee out of three surveyors I contacted but in the quality of the report I got the lower fee certainly wasn't reflected - it is professional, detailed and comprehensive. The surveyor even went beyond what I understand is normally included in a level 2 report. I didn't have many follow up questions but what I had, I got a response to within hours, if not minutes. Highly recommended service

Great experience pre and post-survey. The survey was promptly carried out with a detailed breakdown. I received helpful post-survey assistance and got all concerns addressed quickly. I enjoyed their service and would definitely recommend them.

Fantastic surveyors!!! The report was extremely detailed and pointed out concerns we would not have spotted. Also a big thank you to Tina in reports for advising me on next steps, offering guidance and being a really great support. As a first time buyer they are fabulous!
