I wish I looked at TrustPilot before. Scammy behaviour: they make you pay to apply for a room, and never come back to you. I have been waiting for almost a month now, and even if they came with an offer I would not accept it, after seeing the horror stories on this page... Please search elsewhere!

They will steal your money, eat up your deposit on made up charges and refuse to provide any proof of the damage.
Good support, just need some patience. They will get back to you and resolve your query to the fullest depending on whichever channels they need to go through. I had a problem with gym access and they resolved it for me promptly within 3 days
I moved recently and overall everything is very good, is very clean and organized, guests are well behaved. Common support is excellent , they respond fast and efficiently. I am very please with my room and the building and the employees, they are ready to help.
I recently moved into a property managed by Common Co-Living, and while the overall experience has been decent, there are some significant points that prevent me from giving it a five-star review. The property itself is situated on a quiet and pleasant street, contributing to its appeal. Tevin, the leasing agent, was helpful during the viewing process and showcased professionalism. However, my initial positive impressions were marred by unfulfilled promises. Tevin assured me that the room would be freshly painted, the broken light fixed, and a new shower curtain installed before my move-in date. Unfortunately, on the day I arrived, none of these commitments were met. The property, accommodating up to six residents, shows signs of wear and tear, which is expected in a shared living environment. Nevertheless, my specific room left much to be desired. Burnt marks on the blinds, dirty walls, peeling paint in the bathroom, and holes in various places presented a disappointing picture. Despite immediate notification upon my arrival, I was informed that painting the room was not possible since I had already moved in. As someone with over 20 years in the real estate business, I find this approach cheap and lazy. From all the co-living places I looked at I would say Common has one of the better programs as there are not additional fees. All the other quote one price and then add on extra fees. Make sure you get everything in writing regardless what the leasing agent states. Their leases can be confusing, depending on the property, but overall, they appear legitimate. One positive aspect is that my co-living space, designed for six occupants, currently houses only four, providing a more comfortable living arrangement. However, Common's policy of not introducing roommates before move-in creates an uncertainty that may not appeal to everyone. Personally, I have not encountered any issues with my unseen roommates so far. In conclusion, addressing the neglected maintenance issues, such as patching holes, replacing burnt blinds, and applying a fresh coat of paint, would significantly enhance the property's appeal. Common has the potential to earn a five-star rating by putting forth the necessary efforts to meet their promises, and in turn, I would confidently refer others to their properties.
The worst experience of my life! I have been living here for almost one and a half years, the beginning was alright until they started construction to add new apartments in the garage (who the hell would want to live in a garage?), they have started 6 months ago and we have been bombarded by the incessant noise of jackhammers and drills every single day from 7 am to 7 pm... I could never envision myself living such a nightmare. We had never had a notice or any email alerting us of the plan to construct and that there will be such an inconvenience. When we complained, they just shrugged it of and told us to suck it up!! Worst ever decision I have ever taken when it comes to renting.

Common is fraud, worst customer services, once they trap you to move in, they don’t care at all, I had to move out before my lease end because the A/C /Heater doesn’t work and they don’t want to fix it. They steal people deposits. They are just a nightmare. Save yourself some trouble and don’t stay with them.
My experience has been a nightmare. The property management is poor, they don’t communicate with each other internally, and they will charge you ridiculous damages. Do not rent from them.
The living situation is fine, it’s just what happens after and the small situations. Common ask for you to give them your banking information and new address to send your deposit refund, I happily gave both. They then sent my deposit refund after I left back to common address even knowing I had moved out. I reached out and they told me the address I gave them can’t accept the check they tried to send and said they don’t send money via bank transfer. I gave them my new address again and they finally agreed to just send it and cancel the previous check sent. The new check that came to my house was 10% of the deposit and a couple hundred less than the he one they sent to old address, I know because friend was living there and I went and picked it up weeks later. Still reaching out for explanation and still getting nothing. The living is fine as long as your roommates are cool but I just don’t understand how the customer service is so bad. Other people mentioned this before and looking back I should have listened, probably better to go a different route than common. Oh also forgot to mention it’s been almost 3 months and my girlfriend still has seen her deposit refund.
This company will steal your money. I had a summer lease earlier this year with them, and they stole almost $1000 from my bank account. The money was not for rent, repairs, or any utilities, and when I contacted the company about the withdrawn money, they blew me off. I have been emailing them for months and they have not refunded me the money they stole or explained why they took it. On top of all of this, the company tried to pressure me into signing an NDA due to issues with the room they rented me over the summer. I have enough documentation to file a lawsuit and they still won’t refund the wrongly taken money. Don’t ever sign with this company unless you have the time and money to take them to court and sue. This company is extremely negligent and partakes in illegal practices when it comes to leasing some of their rooms. Please trust me when I say that no matter what location you are looking at, you can find a much better (and cheaper) company to sign with than Common Living. They will screw you over the minute you sign any sort of contract or lease; they are already being investigated for some of their unlawful practices. It’s not worth it.

Common offers somewhat affordable co-living apartments. What you save in rent you will pay 10x more in headaches! Any 5 star review you see is fake on this company. Management/Leasing prior to signing a lease is somewhat professional, afterwards you are ghosted and locked into your lease with zero service. Get ready to chase these people down for months at a time, empty promises and an endless cycle of them kicking the can down the road. DO NOT RENT WITH COMMON
The Brooklyn 1. There is no management or support on site to check you in, show you around or for inquiries 2. The heater does not work. Management responded about this after 3 days suggesting I talk to a neighbor about it. 3. On Fridays and Saturdays the noise from the pub/ bar below does not let you sleep till 3 - 4 am. 4. Food gets stolen in the shared kitchen and management does nothing about it. 5. Shower is excruciatingly tiny. You rub off other people's dirt on the wall and shower curtain. In addition, the shower head is designed small. 6. There are unfriendly pets in the building mostly unleashed and unattended in the shared kitchen, which makes it difficult to use when you need to. 7. You have to request for the mailbox key for your room which took them a day to drop mine. Deliveries are dumped unattended in the tiny lobby which means it can be picked up by other people. 8. The management will charge you a termination fee (which covers the inconvenience you are causing the house owner) if you decide you cannot put up with their services and crap box they call a building. 9. The building is nothing like its photos or virtual tour videos. 10. Almost everyone in the building is unhappy and wants to leave. I emailed their management team which includes Karlene Holloman, Brad Hargreaves, Hayeon Shim, Glenford Brown and Jessica Lazo but they seem to be the most irresponsible team ever that never responds or care. Rose Anne is the only support who followed up till my issue was resolved when my key fob will not allow me in the building. The day I moved out their very tiny elevator was out which they did nothing about it but instead threatened me with their lease and wanted me out by 12pm. I had to walk 5 stairs down to move my things. Do not rent this place for a long term or at all. There are better alternatives (bigger, convenient and with management on site) close by the building.
All the roommates I live with have had different problems with water leaking, communication, lease, maintenance, cleaning, deposit refund, mail collection, but I will only develop the main parts here. The team listens and is available only at the beginning, but from the moment the customer is acquired and paid the deposit it's entirely something else. Having to renew the lease, the price always increases and for no real reason other than the market price, when it's not justified at all when you know the market. The exchanges are all made via email, or the renewal team calls with a number where we cannot reach the person afterward, and then no longer respond by email for 10 days, even when it is urgent, and answer only what arranges them. Contracts are automatically signed in my name, cannot be downloaded or re-consulted after signature, or are on the wrong date. In short, an administrative disaster. This is without mentioning the basic services, which are no longer applicable now but which are still used as a selling point and elements (there are no more supplies as they say, and cleaning is no longer weekly but monthly, which is a problem in a house with a lot of roommates). I really like the house and the people I live with, but the services promised by the company are not respected and the organisation could have been really better.
Every time I ask for a copy of the most updated lease they send me one with roommates who have left 2 months ago. In my unit we have had atleast 4 new people move in and yet to receive an updated lease with these new suite mates.
