Significant improvements! I’ve used Quosal/Sell/CPQ for a couple of years now and the enhancements in just the last 6 months alone show just how much R&D is going into this being a market leading product
I actually LOVE CW Sell/CPQ I've been using on this software for over five years (Sell five years, Manage/PSA over 14 years). I had a sink or swim kind of training at my company that hired me and wanted me to learn it and through my stumbling and falling I finally picked it up. It's a large and robust program for sure. There's lots of nooks and crannies and special fields and things that you need to setup correctly first, but once you do, there's no other quoting tool, imo, that can compare to the integration with Manage/PSA. I've found that if you get proper onboarding with a consultant that knows all the areas this beast can touch, setup your templates for success and make them easy for your sales reps to quote, then you are set!
Check Connectwise Support Response before you invest in a Connectwise product. Connectwise Sell used to be Quosal. We moved form Quotewerks to Sell about 3 years ago after going to a CW event. We moved because it was more integrated to quick books that would make things more stream lined. All was installed correctly and seemed to be working until this last year. The big problem is Connectwise Support, a company that designs help desk software somehow thinks a 4 day response to issues in satisfactory. We are currently getting multiple errors a day where we have to create manual p.o. from scratch out of the sell system, this take us two times as long and opens the door for mistakes and effects service and delivery times to our clients. I have done everything to get better response from this company, I called my representative, I have talked to managers above them to no avail. So by the time they actually call me (which is rare, I think they only have one phone in their support area) the problem is 10x bigger because the same error mutlipies on other orders. Not providing a reasonable response is a executive failure from the top down, as a owner of a help desk company I decide the response time to my clients which is 4 hours our less (most of the time we answer immediately) because great support and response is tied to client retention. We are moving back to QuoteWerks, I tested their support and T1 support picked up my call within 5 minutes. Do your self a favor and research your decision when buying a connectwise product or you will be in the position that I am. I can go on and on about how bad their support is but unfortunately I have to assist my procurement officer with with the problems I have that CW can care less about.
The original desktop product was great. The hosted product has been all downhill. Super slow to navigate, constantly breaking requiring us to keep giving people more security privileges as updates break functionality on a regular basis.
Connectwise sell is very slow and buggy, errors constantly popup. All the templates included are very dated - any changes required incurs a consultancy fee which is quite high per hour. I would not recommend this product.
Poorly designed product. Unusable API that lacks proper documentation.
Great platform originally, but suffers stability issues. Constant errors lately with trying to do the basics. The cloud-hosted platform is very slow here in Australia, and support appears to only be in US time. We wait over 24 hours for a reply to every request. There has not been a lot of encouraging R&D and feels a little like the platform is losing its shine.
Slow, No Commission Structure, Freezes all the time
The "review quote" function is so buggy that we have to make everyone an admin to not slowdown our pipeline. The bug is that after approval, Reps cannot send the quote even though it has been approved. However, it is still my favorite quoting solution :) Fix the bugs ConnectWise!
Horrible support and way too many errors for a product that is by ConnectWise. Less integration then Quosal yet you are the same company as ConnectWise now.
Doesn't really work very well at all. I think it will work well at some point in the future but right now it has a lot of holes for an IT Integrator to use effectively. Small businesses and small integrators less than 10 people it probably will work fine.
It takes too long to get support or to have consulting work and projects completed.
Overall great app for our quotes. I would like to see better rich text controls (they seem inconsistent), easier methods to show optional items for customers with selectable checkboxes (seems to be tough to get consistently). I'd also love to be able to have Quosal/ConnectWise sync a product photo so I'm not keeping an increasingly-huge URL link of JPGs I maintain at our FTP for various products.
We have seen great improvement in the past year. If only ConnectWise could be the product sourcing with out problems. ConnectWise problem, not yours. ConnectWise needs to add HTML to product descriptions and a picture/image field in their database and then you could reference without having to atler.
ConnectWise Sell is a great product and well ahead of their competitors, however, there is a still a lot of room for polish, feature additions and mature integration points.
I am struggling to realize the value in ConnectWise sell. I pay $278 a month and find it really hard to customize the product to get it to where we are happy with it. The software trades complexity for customization it's needlessly complex. If I had to guess, I will be canceling my subscription in the next year and moving to a much lower cost competitor with almost the same feature/benefits.
The program does not load all of the time. There are some features that have not been updated since the last upgrade, that existed in the previous version.
I've been using Sell for almost 2 years daily. They are continually making improvements and addressing suggestions to improve.
In the past Quossl Supporteas weak unless you were lucky and got a veteran who literally work miracles and left you feeling really satisfied. Support on CW Sell is about the same Chat assist never works so why don't you remove it. Lastly why can't I copy specific lines from one quote to another?

Jan 06,2025There is so much functionality with this product. It can be overwhelming to setup, but once you figure it out or work with a consultant it can completely streamline and automate your quoting process. I was lucky enough to attend a ConnectWise Sell boot camp many years ago and learned a lot about some of the 'hidden' functionality.
