Aug 14,2023Shipping and tracking didn’t seem to initiate until I messaged Tim- this could just be my perception. The mounting screws provided were significantly smaller than the original screws in the original tail piece. I reused the old screws. The failure of the original tailpiece was a manufacturing defect. I found this to be surprising. I provided feedback and photo’s to Tim Diaz.

Jul 22,2023Dropped the guitar when I was at the store. Was told it was Re-ordered from the Cincinnati, and when I checked a week later, nothing had been done. Also was told I would get a return phone call from the Aspen....that never happened either. Finally got an email that the label was printed in New York but no ship date. All and all, nice guitars but the service in Aspen sucks.

In the the minus side, my attempt to have UPS hold it in their warehouse was not successful and they placed it, visible from the street, on the front porch, Fortunately, I came home in the evening and received it in harmed. It was the July 4th week. Anyway, alls well that ends well. The guitar is well made, easy to play, and sounds good with and without a pickup. I think it’s a little overpriced for an instrument which is partially laminated, plus it has no pick guard or protective plastic. But, it’s small, light and functional, and designed by a player of exceptional talent.

Jul 13,2023The items I purchased look and feel good. It's a little warm for the hoodie, right now, but come winter it will be a mainstay. My only grip is the delay in shipping and the lack of a tracking number. I reached out to customer service, and the email I got was brief. "This order looks to be ready to ship. An email saying when it ships and the tracking number will be along shortly" Well, I received no email. Thankfully the order did ship. I just wish I would have been told more, or kept in the loop better.

Jul 05,2023I had been on the waiting list since the initial launch of this guitar a year ago and was glad they brought it back. I placed an order the day I received the email and it was delivered 3 days later. I was impressed by the build-quality of the guitar and the packaging it arrived in showing attention to detail. This guitar is uniquely designed for a certain style of playing. It is among the lightest acoustics I have played with a loud, clear and articulate sound. Note separation and response to picking dynamics was particularly impressive, with good balance between lows, mids and highs without being either boomy or brittle sounding. I was surprise at the responsiveness and sound quality from the pickup. It emphasized the sound qualities of the acoustic tone proving balanced response. It was particularly responsive so a bit unforgiving if you play sloppy. The neck is interesting. I was expecting a bit chunkier neck, but found it slim and fast reminding me of several of my Gibson arch tops with a pronounced volute at the transition to the headstock. This is more pronounced than on 70s Gibsons (which I like) and it didn't get in my way providing a good pivot point for my thumb. The fret work was neat and clean, something not always seen on guitars at this price point with the bound edges feeling very good. I was surprised at how the wider, 1 3/4 inch nut took some getting use to moving from my Gibson and Godin guitars, but I think I will appreciate it once I do. The mat neck and top are comfortable and well finished. The open grain sides and back are different (not in a bad way) and could contribute to the guitar's sonic profile. This is a matter of taste but it is very well executed. The interior was neat and well finished reflecting attention to construction. I did like the addition of the Grover tuners (my preference) and appreciated the aged bronze finish that contributed to the understated elegance of the overall appearance. I am pleased with the guitar. It is very different from anything in my (too extensive) collection and I think will fit nicely with my more finger style, jazz style. I look forward to getting to know it better.

Aug 25,2023The pickguard I purchased was listed as fitting DC models, however it does not fit my Premier DC. It is larger than the stock one, and installation resulted in a gap at the bridge pickup.
