Nov 01,2021The DSC1 course was run at Moretonhampstead in a lovely hotel which did great food at lunchtime. The room the course was run from was well laid out with 2/3rds setup for the course and the remaining part containing various pieces of equipment that are useful to the trade. Ben delivered the course in a friendly and relaxed manner and thankfully he talked around the topics and answered questions as they were raised rather than doing it in a robotic manner which can often occur when going through legislative information. In retrospect the most fun part of this course was the shooting test, I was bricking this part of it as I'd been shooting air rifles, shotguns and rimfires for many years doing pest control however I'd never taken any formal tests. I got nice tight groupings within the target area on the day which was a relief even though I felt more pressure then when I've taken shots in the field. All in all, I'd thoroughly recommend Ben and Deer Central

Oct 13,2021I attended a DSC1 course with Ben at Moretonhampstead in October 2021. Having shot for most of my adult life one way or another, this was my first entry into learning about deer stalking. Not going to deny i was a bit nervous initially, but Ben delivered the course superbly with great knowledge, humor, and lots of facts which got all 6 of us talking. We had a great afternoon at a nearby shooting range for the practical assessment, and did our exams with confidence feeling like we were ready. I'm certainly keeping in touch to attend a deer stalk soon! Many thanks, Steve

We all found the course very informative and in depth which reinforced our knowledge of deer in the UK. The course was delivered in an easy to understand way and we all passed confidently.
