Dec 13,2024We’re first-time buyers of (hopefully!) a 1930s home in Bristol, and working with Mark and Jon at Domestic Surveys has been nothing short of exceptional. Jon’s survey was incredibly thorough—80 pages of detailed, clear, and understandable information that gave us exactly what we needed to do our research and make informed decisions. On top of that, we had a 2-3 hour Zoom call with Jon where he walked us through every aspect of the report. He was patient, insightful, and to the point while being genuinely lovely (we’ve never met anyone so enthusiastic about cavity wall ties—it was brilliant!). We’re so glad we opted for a Level 3 survey and chose Domestic Surveys, even though there was a slightly longer wait time. The detail and professionalism were absolutely worth it. Whether we go for this house or not, we now feel so much more confident and better equipped as buyers. This survey will be invaluable not just now but for any future purchases, repairs, and general knowledge about property quality. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Domestic Surveys. Jon provided a really in depth, well thought out report and had clearly gone the extra mile throughout the property to inspect, find and pull together all the information I needed to know with my purchase. He then spent a lot of time taking through the report, making sure I understood it and answering any queries that came up. He was also well supported by his team, Martin was incredible at coming back quickly on my queries, helping with recommendations etc etc. An excellent company and one I hope to use for any future moves as well!

Dec 05,2023We were in the process of purchasing a three bed 60's property in Bristol and needed a survey to be completed. After searching the local area for surveyors, we came across Domestic Surveys who had some great reviews. We made contact and were pleasantly surprised with the professionalism and knowledge of this company. They explained the different types of surveys available and what would be most suitable for this type of property, before allowing us to decide. We went for a Homebuyers Report. Booking was seamless and they were able to liaise directly with the agent to arrange access to the property. The report was in-depth and picked up several issues which we wouldn't have noticed. Lee was super helpful and followed up his report with a telephone consultation at no additional cost to go through the report with us and answer any questions we had. This not only allowed us to understand the issues in more detail, but also what sort of cost we would be looking at for each job and the work entailed. Thanks to the report, we were able to renegotiate the purchase price of the property by several thousand pounds. I would highly recommend Domestic Surveys as they are a professional, reliable, efficient and knowledgeable company who provide excellent service at a competitive price. The interactions with Martin and Lee have been very pleasant and we will be using them again if we need to.

Mar 06,2025Reading other reviews and testimonials does a very good job of painting a picture of the incredible support, service, and depth of information that you'll get when you get your survey report back from Domestic Survey - and subsequently review the entirety of that report on a call with your surveyor. Martin was easy to work with, quick to communicate and get us the details we needed. Jon's knowledge and ability to explain the nuance of the details of what he found in the survey was astounding. We asked him so many questions and he was able to provide practical answers that left us feeling like we really understood the condition of the house very well, and had a rough idea for the cost to remedy the various issues identified. Every single review you'll read will highly recommend Domestic Surveys, I'm certain of that and I will join the chorus. It is worth the wait. It is worth the cost. You will feel like you really understand the property and the details and any issues identified following the survey. If you've read everything else I've written and haven't done so yet, just call them.
