Ok. Here goes. Honest review. End product we very much like. To get here though was a bit of a challenge. The installation and customer service left a lot to be desired. This may have been more of a one off so I would suggest balancing with other reviews. Our project was quite small (external door set and 2 windows). We had the team out to measure twice but despite this the doors turned up the wrong size. These things can happen, what was disappointing was it was left with us (the client) to continually chase up and sort everything out. The installers at last count have made 4-5 visits. When we complained the MD stepped in and sorted everything quickly and efficiently. As before maybe we were just unlucky if not Fabco need to consider some small tweaks to customer service. Would I use again? The finished product is great and well priced vs competitors. For another small project I probably would. For a larger project I would be nervous.

I recently renovated a property installing Fabco windows throughout, plus 3 sets of ceiling to floor windows that have transformed my new extension and made the space spectacular. I had a slight issue with the external finish of the frames around the windows, but this was down to how my builders had removed the old existing ones. Luckily my architect who had worked with Fabco on previous projects, liaised directly with the MD and between them come up with a solution. I had cover plates fitted and I now have a fabulous set of windows that show off my new home. So, a big thanks to everyone at Fabco and especially the MD David Cane. I would have no hesitation in recommending.

When there is a huge fire on the industrial estate where the company manufacturing and fitting your doors and panels, that is unfortunate. When it happens three days before they are meant to be fitted that’s unfortunate at best or damn annoying at worst. Definitely not the fault of Fabco that the power to the site was shut off and with no access due to an edict from the Environmental Agency. It’s how a company deals with this and how it communicates with the affected customers that defines the company. Fabco kept us up to date and finally were able to fit the doors and panels. There were some snags with the fitting, but these were dealt with and we now have a fabulous set of doors and panels in place. So, a big thanks to the fitting teams, the sealant man, James and Paul, everyone back in the office and finally MD David Cane.

We are now on our second project with Fabco. The fact that we are coming back again for a Fabco installation is the highest praise we can give! I have found them to be highly professional and very responsive. When things don't always go to plan - and in construction this happens - they have been quick to respond and propose solutions. Once this second project is done, I look forward to writing another positive review. Keep up the good work Fabco

UPDATED Nov 24 - David (MD from Fabco) upon hearing of my condensation issues came to look at my doors directly. After a detailed site visit inspecting and discussing the Fabco door composition and ventilation, we are investigating further how ventilation can be increased in the kitchen area to see if this reduces the condensation problem. I am very appreciative and impressed that the MD of a business has taken the time to visit a client directly and proactively go out of his way to try to resolve this issue. Many thanks to David and the Fabco team. Installed in my kitchen in Nov 21 (two sets of patio doors). Huge amount of condensation all over the frames started that winter. Damaged skirting boards from the puddles of water on the floor every night / morning in the cold weather and even ice forming on the inside and a very cold kitchen. Please do your research and read reviews / visit people who have actually bought and lived with these doors and not from architects or interior designers. Fabco just told me how I should be dealing with condensation when I contacted them for help. I have a dehumidifier on permanently and my house is well ventilated but these doors are not thermally broken and certainly not fit for purpose. A complete waste of money (£18k) and a company not interested in helping you once they’ve received their cash. I would have given zero out of ten if I could. Please do your research!!

spent nearly half a year waiting for delivery. Incredibly poor customer service. Damaged windows on installation and now a huge amount of condensation and moisture build up on all the fabco windows in the house during the colder months. Poor design, poor quality and poor customer service. Do not purchase Fabco Windows.

Fabco Sanctuary steel doors are the best. The doors are absolutely gorgeous and the quality so impressive, they really make our humble end-terrace home spectacular. The materials, welding, coating, glass and door furniture are so well made. As an Engineer I value the steel construction and Fabco really are experts in fabrication. What stood out for me however was the communications, patience, expertise and response from the whole team throughout the entire process. From my initial enquiries back in 2021 to the final silicone bead, nothing was too much trouble, even retrofitting a cat flap in one of the panes. The professionalism shone through. Highly recommended.

This is the second time that I have suggested a client use Fabco doors. Fabco provided an excellent service on both occasions. Fullfilling the design brief and using alternative RAL colour to the standard offered by other suppliers. The product is robust and installation and finishing done as specified. I would have no hesitation in recommending them again.

I am a qualified architect in London, and I am very happy with the products they provided for our recent renovation project. Because of my job, I have compared, talked and visited many steel window companies. In the end, Fabco seemed like a good balance in terms of its reputation (my builder has used them before and he knows some happy customers), professionalism and quality of the products. Their quote was the slightly higher side to be honest, but one of the cheapest companies went bust, another company made some mistakes in their drawings, so please be careful not to just jump onto the cheapest ones! The MD David seems to care about every project very much and although the engineers who came on site were capable, whenever we faced any issues, he stepped in to resolve them. That was a good surprise. The 3 sets of windows we installed in the kitchen area totally transformed the space. it connects inside and outside beautifully and the black thin frames add interest to the elevation. We are very happy with them.

Although there was a measuring mistake, Fabco expedited a new set of doors and installed them on time. Excellent customer service and after sales service.

Fabco frames do not have a thermal break in their design which means that in cold weather you will get heavy amounts of condensation on the frames. Unlike the double glazed windows, which do not get condensation, our frames are dripping with water through out winter which is now causing water damage to the window sills and walls around the frames. Fabco claim there is not issue and that it is our fault we have too much moisture in the air in our kitchen. They only suggested to open trickle vents, but they make no difference at all and the door has no trickle vent. Very disappointing and a waste of money. Fabco have not been helpful at all and gave no advice before installation that the situation of our kitchen (at the top of a Victoria building) is not a suitable for their windows.

Their doors are nice to look at and incredibly expensive but the fitting process was a nightmare from start to finish. Although months later they’re still not actually finished. They were initially installed badly, someone else came to fix that but then another panel didn’t turn up, then they swapped out the wrong one. Then they left a gap down the side of a window that they plugged with expandable foam. Our builder has to come back and finish the job for them. I wouldn’t use them again, go elsewhere even if more expensive. Because what you might save on price you will have to pay someone else to fix anyway.

Some things you ought to know if you are thinking of purchasing steel doors from Fabco Sanctuary: There are two options for the door openings: restrictors which do not allow the doors to open more than 90 degrees, or cabin hooks which you attach to the doors when you want them open wide. The cabin hooks cost £200 for a set of two. Similar ones can be purchased from B&Q for a tenth of the price, however we were told if we installed these it would invalidate our warranty. We went for the cabin hook option because we wanted to be able to open the doors wide, however this means that every time someone opens the doors they need to remember to attach the cabin hooks. If they don't, even a slight gust of wind will blow the doors back against the glass panels on either side of the doors, causing the door handles to break the glass. I contacted Fabco to ask if they could offer a solution and was told that they couldn't. Our doors were installed in October. By February the external handles had large spots of corrosion. I contacted Fabco and they informed me that they had emailed me care instructions detailing that the handles need to be waxed 'regularly' (I emailed them for a more specific recommendation but they did not reply). It turns out that they had indeed emailed the care instructions... several months prior to the installation date. It would have made a lot more sense to send care instructions immediately after the doors had been installed.

We decided to take the plunge and go for the beautiful design of the Fabco black doors. We completed a rear extension and had them put in across the back of the house. We have had nothing but problems and now despite them finally being fixed, the room is constantly cold. First they were fitted incorrectly and we had drafts blowing across the room and terrible condensation every morning. After numerous site visits and constant follow ups from myself, Fabco finally (after much debate!) admitted they were fitted incorrectly and they had to be completely taken out and re-fitted. However, the cold and condensation continued. Again after much debate, they finally came back and properly sealed them from the outside after realising that this had never been done. The doors are now fitted properly but in the winter it is unbearable and the whole room is so cold we have had a log burner fitted. My advice? Don't use Fabco.

I decided to use Fabco for my window project rather than the more standard bi-fold option because I really liked the look of their windows, and spent a long time looking at photos of various completed projects on Facebook. I also visited the factory when I was in the area, which was useful. My project has now been completed, and I really am delighted with the result. I could no doubt have got a lot more white plastic for a lot less money, had I wanted to, but to be honest, I would rather have fabulous than cheap, and my glorious new windows really are fabulous. But more than that, my experience with Fabco was really positive at every step, and at no point did I have to worry that they would let me down, or that the result would be a disappointment. I understand that my little project is very small fry for a company like Fabco, but everyone made me feel that it was just as important as the boutique hotels and corporate headquarters. Everyone I dealt with was really professional, and it all worked completely seamlessly. There was no drama, nothing went wrong, nothing didn't fit properly, everyone turned up exactly when I was told they would, and it was completed with no irritating little issues to be fixed. That really doesn't always happen, and having experienced the opposite in the past, it has been delightful and surprising to find that a project can be designed and installed without problems, and without the relationship between the company and the customer breaking down and descending into bitter recriminations. That is definitely worth paying for, and I am very glad that I asked Fabco to undertake my project, rather than going for the cheapest or the closest.

Look nice but would not recommend for external windows and doors when considering comfort as well as style. Sound insulation and thermal insulation are terrible for such an expensive system.

I needed corroded windows and balcony door replaced in a Grade 2 Listed building where the double-glazed replacements had to match the original appearance exactly and satisfy the stringent requirements of Council approval and Building Control. Fabco gave realistic timescales for manufacture and installation and stuck to scheduled dates precisely. I had to delay finishing because of problems with scaffolding (needed for safe exterior access) which meant a month delay, apparently because of Pandemic backlogs (hence 4*). Fabco proved flexible enough to fulfil a special requirement - specifically pivot hinges on windows - which they first said was not available. Staff on site were totally competent. Products appear solid and precisely manufactured. Price was expensive, but similar to that charged to another leaseholder by another company. Time will tell, but so far I am very satisfied.

I could’ve given all five stars, but they once mis-stepped. So as an penalty, I am giving four. Apart from that, I loved their professionalism and work throughout. If I need another work in the future, this is the company I will look for first. I also recommend Fabco to whoever asks.
