The device has been invaluable in getting back into an exercise regime and having peace of mind after been diagnosed with a cardiac issue. This is a really great product. I would love to see some extra functions and alerts and it would be great to be able to check on the current ECG that is been recorded during a workout. It would also be great to have a shortcut button in the app for an instant ECG.
I use it with my Garmin VivoActive HR watch. Works pretty seamlessly. Data is smoother than what I get from my watch. My watch would give erratic data if the weather was cloudy. None of that problem now. When running indoors, the treadmill at my gym automatically picks up the data from this device and displays it on its screen. This is really cool. The same data can also be seen on my watch simultaneously and it gets recorded along with my workout on my watch. It takes some getting-used-to wearing the chest strap if you are not used to it. I’m very happy with this product.
I have to say, I was very sceptical about buying the Frontier X2 monitor. So far, this little monitor has been fantastic. I have Arrhythmia and use it when I feel an episode coming on. It's nice that it only takes 10 seconds to calibrate and start recording my activity. It easily syncs to the app on my iPhone via Bluetooth. All I had to do was set up an account with Frontier X and allow the monitor access to my phone's Bluetooth. Then, you just click "Connect" in the app and it finds the monitor and downloads the graphs. You can even check them out on your phone/mobile device. One of the best features is that it's easy to email and share the recordings. My Cardiologist loves that I am able to send these readings to him. I hope this monitor can help figure out what the triggers are. This device monitors your overall heart and shares various heart metrics such as HRV, Body Shock, HRM, heart strain and so much more.. I can’t end before calling out their support team. I did have a little issue setting up my account, so I emailed them. They got back to me within 45 minutes and already had the issue resolved. Then they followed up with me later that week to make sure it was still working for me. I'm in Customer Service, so I expect a lot from a company's support team. Great job!
My experience echo's this submission below by Mark Lewis. FF's Support was very good with my initial inquiry when I was experiencing connection issues between the HRM and my Garmin 1030+ (intermittent and loss of signal, HRM freezes, loss of workout data, and under-reporting of HR levels in real time to Garmin). Then after reasonable follow up by their Support Team, communication stopped and I have been unable to reach them. I asked if they would consider a "trade in" to replace my Frontier X with their new X2 (that addresses some of my issues) but no response. See detail below for another user's similar issues. It's difficult to justify a $500 HRM that cannot handle the basic (wahoo, Garmin, etc) HRM functionality. BTW - I (tried to) use the FFX as my HRM for cycling with normal rides of 3-6 hrs in duration. from Mark Lewis "I have had this for a few months now,, and felt the need to edit this. For pure ECG this kit is great, but as a HR monitor to connect to other devices, its simply awful. Its overly complicated compared to rivals, and very often just does not display any HR at all, and ends up having to be reset. During rides its a 3or 5 second average of HR for some reason, which isnt particularly usefull, and once or twice an hour will drop out for no reason. Having compared side by side with wahoo and a garmin (wearing both) it just isnt up to spec on this side for the price. Which is very disappointing, considering this should be the easy bit to get right" ** update as of Sep 2022...Fourth Frontier has addressed the issues I was having...with great response from their customer service group after a few attempts to reach a knowledgeable person relative to the device issues I was having.
Hit and miss with the results from the unit. Many times I have not received any ECG readings. Some of the ECG readings I have received have been worryingly inaccurate. I have tried to return the product within the 30 day window but every obstacle has been put in the way. There is too much effort spent trying to get the user to sign up to the expensive monthly health subscription.

Sep 20,2022I have been using Frontier X for about ten months. Key strength of this product is the ECG recording functionality that can provide useful heart function information during exercise and rest, along with other information (heart rate, breathing rate, distance covered, etc) and a dashboard/interface that clearly communicates this information and allows the user to share it. My physician is particularly impressed with the quality of the ECG graphs.
