Don’t Ask Siri, Just Ask John: Some of the best things in life happen when you aren’t looking and that is exactly how I met John of Happy Tears Productions. Shortly after I became a fiancée to the love of my life, I did what all “brides to be” do- go straight to Barnes and Noble to purchase a handful of bridal magazines and start researching bridal expos. I stumbled upon a bridal expo at Blue Heron Pines Golf Course where I was probably the most excited bride to be there accompanied by my bridesmaids (who are all maids of honor- since we have a special relationship individually). One of the highlights of attending the bridal expo was being able to enter many contests to get discounted vendors or the chance of a paid honeymoon. Being the planner I am, I booked many vendors already at this point but when I saw the booth “Happy Tears Videography” I thought wow- why not enter for a chance to win Videography for my wedding. Being someone who is a romantic and always wished I could play back eight years ago to meeting my fiancé; memories are something I always cherish. In my opinion, videos are a return ticket to a moment otherwise gone. Fast forward to a few weeks later, I got a card in the mail showing I won a voucher for 50% off videography- A STEAL! Upon our first phone call- my fiancé and I grew quickly attached to John and felt comfortable right away- you could tell by my phone log of our conversation being almost two hours long! We didn’t just get to know one another and discuss the idea of what kind of video options we wanted, John gave us advice for all areas of our wedding- tips and tricks that only the pro’s know. He even went the extra mile in helping us get in touch with other vendors and secure them while looking for other services. If there was ever a time I needed John, he was there with open arms and informative advice- even when it came to something that didn’t pertain to him like me needing to vent about how stressed I was- especially about having to get ahold of my non-responsive venue during the COVID-19 pandemic (that no bride of 2020 will ever forget). I was so panicked and in tears daily that my fiancé Joey didn’t even know what to do anymore that he said “Call John, I don’t know how to help you anymore but I know he’ll calm you down.” And John did just that- he offered me realistic alternatives on what to do- even ready to contact other vendors and venues on my behalf to sort things out. Since it looked like things weren’t getting better with COVID-19 we couldn’t get married on the day we planned to which would’ve also been our seven year anniversary together. Right before I had my call with my venue to decide on what my new wedding date would be, I called John and asked him “what dates are you available?” The only thing that mattered to Joey and I was that John was there on our wedding day and long behold after bouncing dates around with my venue- I was in tears… HAPPY tears (no pun intended) that it aligned with John’s date. Long story short if you are even thinking about a videographer for your wedding- it’s John. If you think that it’s an extra expense that you’d pass on because you’re on a budget- don’t pass it up because he has an unique package for everyone- and trust me- aside from the fabulous pricing, you’re going to quickly grow attached to someone who will in a short period of time become a household name. Someone who will become family to you- that if he wasn’t filming your wedding- you’d invite him personally to attend anyways. He is someone who you will be in contact with for the rest of your life because you will find that he will matter to you (if not more) than how much you and your happiness will matter to him. My wedding isn’t for a few more months but I know that everything will be seamless because John Rink is present.
John from Happy Tears was simply amazing. He made our video totally custom to fit our exact needs and even sent it to us before the expected timeline. He went above and beyond from the first day we met and even up until today, months after our wedding.
Michelle and I (Matt) are thrilled with John’s work from our wedding day. He was very professional in his work and made our happiness with our day his top priority. From the beginning he was committed to helping us decide what we wanted for our wedding day. After we got engaged, we were initially on the fence about hiring a videographer but after seeing John’s work, we’re very happy we did. He was great to work with on our wedding day and we were happily surprised with how quickly we received our preview and highlight videos. We certainly recommend John and Happy Tears if you’re considering a videographer for your wedding. -Matt & Michelle Ciociola
John was amazing from start to finish for our wedding day! Before we even booked with him he took time to talk to me extensively over the phone to make sure we were a perfect fit. He had so many good suggestions which was helpful from a wedding expert. On the day of the wedding he made us feel so comfortable, was sure to get the best shots and angles. He also loved our dog who is our baby so that was so important to us and he made sure to get some video of her which we LOVED. Our wedding video is perfect, and we couldn’t be more thankful. Highly recommend John and Happy Tears to everyone!!
Unfortunately my wedding was under rather unfavorable conditions. It was a complete tropical storm and we had to readjust everything!! (It was an outside wedding) We were also without our photographer. Thankfully we were able to make do. I cannot thank Happy Tears enough for the video they were able to produce under the circumstances. I was certain they were not able to capture enough footage. I was so wrong! John came out in the rain and delivered above and beyond on our video. It was a pleasure to work with him. He was very informative and kept in touch with us through the whole process. He made everything very clear and gave a full understanding throughout the whole entire process. He really does produce “Happy Tears”. I highly recommend happy tears for your wedding day!!
If you are on the fence about hiring a videographer, I urge you to use Happy Tears! Your wedding goes by in a flash and many moments are missed but to have the video to relive the day, is one of the best decisions we made. John and his team are so talented. They captured the day with all the emotion and excitement that filled it. We got numerous compliments. My husband and I absolutely love our video- it is perfect! Thank you for giving us this gift that we can share together with our family and friends for a lifetime.
John & Chris from Happy Tears Production are AWESOME. John is so passionate about his work & most important the customers he works for. He kept consistent communication to make sure he would capture everything we wanted on our wedding day. John sent us the highlight video this week and it was phenomenal! Highly recommend John & his team at Happy Tears. - The O’Shea’s
My fiancé (at the time) and I were unsure of if we wanted to book a videographer because of the prices we had seen with other vendors. I am so glad we found John! He responded almost immediately and was very personable with us. He offered us a package that was within our budget and still provides quality work. He stayed in touch with us throughout our planning process and made sure we were comfortable and happy with everything. During filming, he does it in such a way that is not invasive and makes sure he can capture all of the wonderful memories of your day. I highly recommend John and Happy Tears!
Talk about one HAPPY customer! Our wedding trailer alone had everyone in (happy!) tears. The quality and attention to detail is outstanding. I am SO glad we decided to get a videographer. Anyone who asks (and even those who don't! lol) I will be the first to tell them, GET A VIDEOGRAPHER. To have actual video footage to look back on from the best day of our lives is something we will treasure forever. Pictures in motion set to beautiful music..it doesn't get better then that. From the first time we spoke on the phone, to the days and weeks following our wedding, John has been nothing short of amazing. He is thorough, kind, thoughtful and understanding. Most of those qualities are hard to find in anyone nowadays, let alone someone in the wedding business. John was a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend Happy Tears Productions to anyone looking for any type of videography, not just weddings. John was patient and not at all pushy. He let us decide what we wanted as far as packages go, and he let us take our time in choosing. He helped us make other decisions for our wedding too! He is a wonderful person and I can't say enough how much we loved working with him and his team. -Jenna & Frank Febbo
I am not one for long reviews but after reading the most recent reviews I felt I had to give my review on John with Happy Tears. From the moment I met John at friends a wedding, I loved him. I didn't have a date or our wedding, but i knew without a doubt Happy Tears would be who caught our special day for us to remember forever. We had Tyler film our day. He got some amazing footage, that i never even knew he was around for. We had a smaller venue, so with John's recomendation we only needed one shooter. I was so excited when i got the trailer...i was on the edge of my seat. The longer video was even better. Tyler has a great eye did an amazing job at filming our first dance, spanning from up close to a bit zoomed out...to a pan from our dancing feet to the top of my tiara. He got even the sparkles i put on my dress and the small Mickey heads on my veil. His attention to detail was amazing. Our video was highlights of our special day, and i couldn't have asked for more. Happy Tears did an amazing job at showcasing us, and still making sure they showed the entire bridal party, walking down the aisle or up the aisle. Our trailer of our special day was magical and showed a glimpse into our memories. It is by no means every second of our day, but that would not be a video that i can show friends and family. The only advice I have for any other bride is remember that raw footage is not in order when you get it, and it is still not every minute of your day. Our raw footage is the pieces left over after edits, and uploads. It was wonderful to see the raw and the video that John made from it. John and the whole Happy Tears staff is amazing.
My husband and I couldn’t be any happier with our wedding video from Happy Tears! John is an absolute pleasure to work with and our video turned out better than we could have ever imagined! He listened to exactly what we wanted and has helped us to relive our wedding for years to come! I’m so glad we chose Happy Tears to capture our special day and would recommend him to anyone looking for a wedding videographer !
I recently left 5 star reviews for Happy Tears Productions, and I'm sadden that I must reduce them. This review does/will not change my great experience working with John. He has great character, professionalism and was easy to work with. His personality was a wonderful fit. As he's selective with accepting jobs from couples; our selection of a videographer was just as meticulous. UNFORTUNATELY, this review revision comes from receiving and watching our final edited video and the raw footage. I was so impressed after watching our highlight video that I was so excited to rave about Happy Tears! BUT, our entire wedding video was less than half decent. Most of the video was shot up-close/zoomed in. It wasn't very flattering. At the ceremony they failed to capture our wedding party walking down the aisle. Instead we got glimpses of them coming out and turning the bend. John said the space was tight (I agree), but he captured mine and the groom's walks down the aisle. He said he didn't like that the photographer or other guests were in the frames, but i rather had them in it then not have that footage at all. Continuing with the ceremony, there were no video of anyone but us, the couple (the top half of us-no full length footage). You could barely see our wedding party, and very little glimpse of the guests. We had 2 shooters at the ceremony, both failed to capture much. During the reception, you couldn't see any of the venue, which didn't give me the feel for the space. I wanted to admire how beautiful the ballroom was. Our dances with each other and our parents were all zoomed in, and at times TOPS OF OUR HEADS WERE CUT OFF. There WEREN'T ANY FULL-LENGTH SHOTS OF ANYTHING. The speeches were of the speaker and maybe a cut off of either the groom or I, but none of us together listening to the speaker. There wasn't much footage of my husband and I together at all. I really could nit-pick about so much that was wrong, but i feel these were the most important points i had to share. John was empathetic when I spoke to him about my concerns, but he didn't do anything to remedy the situation, in reality, he couldn't. The day has come and gone, and we have what we have. Even going through the raw footage, i keep telling at my TV to "zoom out!". It never happened. I hate having to give a bad review to a great guy, but this is a business. Future brides and grooms need to know what they're getting into. We only hired one shooter for the reception and that's why he said I got a constant close-up view, but that was never told to me prior to wedding day. John suggested to only hire one shooter, not only to save money, but also he said it wasn't necessary to have 2 shooters- he's the expert, so i took his advice. I would've much rather paid a lot less to just have a couple of people follow us around with a video camera. We, myself, my husband along with our families were incredibly disappointed with the video, raw and edited. We aren't the over-bearing type of people. I'm sure John could attest to us being pretty laid back and easy going. So this "bad review" doesn't come easy.
My husband and I were married on 11/10/2018 and chose Happy Tears for our wedding videographer and we are very happy we did! John was so kind and helpful, Even though John was not the videographer on the day of our wedding, We had Jackie to be my videographer for the day.Jackie was amazing, so easy going and the kindness people ever. Due to another wedding at the same venue, Jackie and my photographers had to wing it, everything ran sooo smoothly because of them. LOL Also I wanted to dance on top of a chair and Jackie got a chair for me to stand up on to sing my favorite song. SHE WAS TRULY THE BEST!!! I am so happy with my highlight video I cant wait to see the rest. THANK YOU AGAIN JOHN FOR EVERYTHING!
My husband and I were married recently and chose Happy Tears for our wedding videographer and we are so so happy we did! John is extremely helpful, knowledgeable and easy to communicate with. He works with your budget and really gets to know his clients so the product you end up with is very personal and tailored to the couple. John and his team did such a fantastic job; I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a high quality product for an affordable price.
My husband and I used Happy Tears for our wedding videography; which turned out absolutely amazing! I picked Happy Tears because my two other best friends used them and raved about how awesome they were. From the start John was so easy to talk to and so excited to be a part of my wedding; which made me feel comfortable and confident in his company. In less than a month we were sent our highlight video; from the music, to the videography to the voice over it was blended beautifully and brought tears to our eyes.
John was amazing and made sure to do everything I asked for. He even made sure to capture the big surprise of the Phillie Phanatic coming to our reception. He greeted us in the pouring rain at our reception and made a point to come and see us before he left. I was originally on the fence about getting a videographer but I am so glad that I did.
We used Happy Tears for our wedding 7-14-18 and we're truly amazed with the communication with John from the start! He reached out and made sure we knew exactly what to expect, also was willing to work with us on anything we wanted. We had Jackie for getting ready and Tyler during the ceremony/reception. They both did an amazing job getting every moment without us even noticing they were there!
We knew from the beginning that we wanted a videographer to capture our wedding. My husband and I sat watching samples from numerous videographers, however, we continued to come back to Happy Tears. After our first email exchange with John, we knew that he was the man we wanted to work with for our wedding. Right from the start he was friendly and warm, yet professional. He put us at ease with the idea of having someone follow us around with cameras for the day. In the months and weeks leading up to the wedding, John was available for any questions or concerns we had. He was also full of excellent wedding related tips. The week before the wedding we collaborated to put a timeline together to allow for the wedding to flow as smoothly as possible. On the day of the wedding, we barely noticed the camera. He flawlessly blended in with our surroundings. In what seemed like no time at all we received notice that our video was completed and ready to be viewed. We loved the final product. John’s attention to detail and passion for filming weddings and events were evident in our video. He listened carefully to likes and dislikes, and incorporated our personalities seamlessly into the video. Lastly, John coordinated with the venue, photographer, and DJ to provide the best possible product. We would not hesitate to recommend John and Happy Tears to our friends and family.
My husband and I were initially hesitant to hire a videographer due to the accumulation of all the wedding costs. After much thought and carefully combing through out budget we decided to make this a necessary cost. I did excessive research on all the local videographers along with their expenses. I found Happy Tears on The Knot. We decided to speak with John about his services. I am so beyond thrilled that we did! From the moment I reached out to John he was very responsive to any and all of my questions/concerns. We had an initial phone conversation about what to expect from him as our videographer. As the wedding was fast approaching I sent frequent emails in regards to what I was looking for our video to include, what extras I wanted, and how I imagined my video to be. We also had a conversation 5 days before the wedding to go over important details of the day and timelines. The day of the wedding everything went perfectly. Both John and his other videographer were successful in capturing every important part of the day without being noticed. Within 24 hours of our wedding we received the most beautiful teaser video that included a very sweet moment I was not there to witness between my grandparents. We received our trailer within about two weeks of our wedding. I have already watched these videos a few times a week since our wedding while crying (happy tears). Our full work was done within a month. John has gone ABOVE AND BEYOND to add in extras for us. He has continued to amaze me with his work. I am awaiting our full feature along with all unedited footage and cannot wait to see what he has put together. If the teaser and trailer are any indication then I already know I will be extremely happy. I am so happy we decided to spend the money so that an amazing team could capture our perfect day for us. Thank you Happy Tears!!!

Apr 11,2020My wife and I were married this past February at a lovely winery in Hammonton, NJ. It’s been an incredible journey together up to this point and we wanted to make sure we didn’t miss a thing on our day. We’ve had so many friends tell us that the one thing they regretted after being married is not having a videographer there to capture every moment. Honestly, we can’t recommend Happy Tears enough if you’re like us and want a videographer for your wedding. From day one John Rink (the owner) was probably more on top of our wedding than even we were, and he would continue to show that level of enthusiasm and professionality throughout the process. He was incredibly helpful with figuring out the best package for us based on our schedule of events. He will not nickel and dime you or suggest packages based on whatever gets him the most money; all his suggestions were very honest and practical. We wanted to have a laid back wedding without all of the usual hustle and bustle of most weddings; and he definitely suggested the best package for us. On the day of the wedding, John was organized, on time, and a much-needed pillar of stability on a hectic day. John moved around the room so effortlessly, we both kept forgetting he was even recording. It was nice that he was not too intrusive and not in the way of any of the events. When we started to go over time, it was John who came to make sure we didn’t miss our cake cutting for the video. Of course, the most important part is the video. We just got our ‘trailer’ to the wedding and it was beautiful. I am a quiet man and was choked up at times during my vows, but you can hear every word clearly. Despite the trailer being a little over 5 minutes, the scenes John was able capture were carefully edited into a perfect synopsis. We can’t wait to see the full video now that we’ve had a sneak peek at what is in store (and I’ve been told a watch party is being organized). Correction: my wife confirmed that she is organizing a watch party with her sisters once this “stay at home order” is lifted. If you are getting married and want to make sure that your day is captured live for you and your partner to enjoy then I cannot recommend Happy Tears enough.
