Would not recommend the teaching did not match the criteria and had to sit my exam 4 times to pass. Overall the experience was pleasant however it was just towards the end it felt very rushed to qualify which wasn’t ideal.

One of the worst companies I’ve ever known. Always different people working there so staff turnover MUST be terrible. Avoid at all costs if you don’t want your time wasted.

Harriet Ellis worked tirelessly to ensure a very subdued apprentice flourished and qualified. I cannot fault the support given by Helena her mentor who instilled the 'can do' belief that she needed. We have also had post qualification courses through them which have also been excellent. Would 100% recommend this training provider

Avoid at all costs. Whether you are a student or potential tutor. HE WILL chew you up and spit you out. They are awful to the staff that work there as the owner is rotten to the core meaning high staff turnover which isn’t morally correct for the learner! They then kick you off the course after years of you trying to get some consistency, despite them not supporting you. Worst place ever. Honestly avoid. Go with more reputable company begins with a t and ends with a dent.

I've recently qualified as a Dental Nurse with Harriet Ellis. I am partly impressed with my time on the course. They are a few things that I believe could of been better; when starting the Dental Nurse course I was informed that it would be completed within 18 months, however it had taken me over 24 months to complete the course. I partly feel the reason for this is the constant change of Dental Educationist which delayed my completion of the course sooner. However, the Dental Educationist that I did have during my Dental Nurse course were extremely nice and supporting. The last Dental Educationist which I had was a lady named Zhantelle, whom was extremely helpful and rushed to have my course completed for me.

Absolutely rubbish. After 3 years of studying with them, they have terminated my course. Choose another school, plenty better out there. Worst than this, it's difficult. 50% of their reviews are written by their own employees..Watch out for that. I recognize some names

This 1 star is justified by the conduct of the owner of Harriet Ellis, Hadley Silver. - He has poisoned a company that I’m sure, once upon a time, had potential. - He does not do enough to protect staff members nor apprentices and does not adhere to safeguarding legislature. i.e. charges underage children registration fees with no guarantees of a job OR that consultants will even bother to assist them. - This company takes money from children including recent care leavers and upon them asking a question as simple as what have they paid a registration fee for, they are stricken off of caseloads with their fee being non-refundable. - False vacancies are created for dental practices that have clearly stated that they: 1) do not have vacancies for apprentices 2) do not want us to publish apprenticeship adverts, which of course they still do anyway. Unethical, much? - The owner is disliked by all staff members (except from friends he employed as managers) a huge indicator of the atmosphere when he is around. Everyone’s chuffed when he’s not around. - The owner is extremely condescending and patronising in how he addresses people - The owner responds to complaints by finding a way to make it anyone’s fault but his. But it can’t always be everyone else in the wrong, unfortunately. - Working at Harriet Ellis was the most exhausting period of my life. It’s extremely repetitive, which wouldn’t be a bad thing if you weren’t moved from role to role to account for the insanely huge turnover of staff. Yet another reflection of this company’s reputation. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Quick to take your money but I doubt you’ll ever see it again. Report to the Department for Education if you find yourself in a sticky predicament at the hands of this sad excuse for a ‘training provider’. At minimum wage, I’m sure you could find better literally anywhere.

This was my first time being with a training provider and looking for a Dental Nursing apprenticeship and it was the most stressful and frustrating experience I’ve ever experienced. Staff members were very rude when answering my calls and it was not a proactive search at all. I was researching into cancelling my registration with Harriet Ellis and the woman working with me was very rude and not understanding at all. Absolutely shocking training providers and wouldn’t recommend at all.

Awful experience with Harriet Ellis. After over two long LONG years, I’ve finally qualified. Staff constantly change making it difficult for work to be marked. I’d strongly recommend against Harriet Ellis. However, Emily Turner was my DE for over 6 months towards the end and did a fantastic job of supporting me and guiding me through the final stages of my apprenticeship, so a HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE thank you to her. I hope she gets a fat pay rise.

The most unorganised, unprofessional, organisation I have ever dealt with. I am now a qualified dental nurse but my journey has been filled with nothing but miscommunication, constant changing of staff, and severe lack of support from Harriet Ellis. Having work signed off, to be told 4 months later I would have to re-do certain things due to marking errors on their end. I waited 9 months to have any of my work marked. Weekly tutorial sessions are filled with too much information for a 2 hour session, and they do not have the time or resources to be able to go through topics on a 1-1 basis. After making complaints, my work was passed from DE to DE and they still failed to process my work in a timely manner. Not flexible at all when it comes to booking in observations, explaining that some staff have to work around childcare - unfortunately this is not my problem and if you are hiring people they need to provide the services you claim to offer. I would always be rang by staff during clinic hours, which I could not answer my phone, and by the time you have finished work, they are closed. Besides this, Emily Turner and Fenella Holmes have been excellent in helping my finish my workbooks, and guiding me through the EPA process.

If I could put no stars I would. This is a complete scam. I applied for a dental nurse apprenticeship on the government website with Harriet ellis. Got my callback where they asked me for a £30 application fee. After they took the payment they asked me to call up dental practices asking if jobs were available. I said I already applied to one to which they responded no longer exists. After going to the dental practise myself it turns out they haven’t been looking for anyone in months. Why take my money then blame the dental practise for false advertising a job. It is Harriet ellis that took my money

If I would have known prior, about the lack of support I would have received over the course of my training. I would have never used Harriet Ellis I never had a consistent tutor. Support was little to none. I had a handful of revision sessions a week or 2 before both exams. Why are revisions sessions and video calls with tutors, not as frequent as those apprentice’s who are not self funded? It may be because this company benefit from exam failures. Students have to pay a resit fee’s upwards of £700. Unfortunately this provider has 0 ethics or morals because of this and will chase for money and threaten to remove students from the course. Pressure and stress which students do not need. My ‘tutor’ I use this term loosely was Gurpreet. It is very hard to get hold of Gurpreet by email or text. Unfortunately most tutors do not have a clinical background. I went through a great amount of stress to request my certificates once I had passed. I emailed and phoned countless times. I don’t believe anyone ever sent them until the 4th or 5th time I phoned to ask for them again. To make matters worse, Harriet Ellis did not pay for postage. I had to pay £1.50 to have the certificate posted back to me. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. I do now know how this company manages to operate as a training provider. All this company does - Is give people false hope/promises to encourage students to apply Staff within the office are poorly trained and do not communicate with one another. Unfortunately, Harriet Ellis never trained me. With the help of my practice and my own self will, I have managed to complete the course. I am now a qualified Dental Nurse Please, if you can. Avoid at all costs. Do not waste any time or money on this company.

They made me a young child under 18 who went to their company to find a job pay a fee of £29 which they call an "admin" fee ( to set up interviews with employers) when there was no admin work done for me, 2 weeks later I still have not received any interviews and was told by harriet ellis that I need to set up the interview myself. So i’m not sure what i’ve paid the £29 for? This is very misleading information to be giving out to young people especially those who are currently out of a job and could do with not wasting their money.

I applied to do this course as it’s meant to take 12-18 months to qualify. I started the course back in November 2020 and now only just qualifying in July 2023. The lack of support throughout the course was poor. I had multiple dental educationalists. Every time I got a new dental educationalist I was pushed back 5 months. The most recent dental educationalist I had was the only one who helped me get to the end. Pushing me to get qualified. I’m glad that I am now qualified and I do believe that this scheme could work amazingly if managed properly. As an apprentice I believe that it’s key that all students should get the support and not to be messed around like I did. There was a few times that I nearly packed in the course as I never saw the end.

EDIT BASED ON RESPONSE: Considering the issues brought up in my review its incredibly interesting NONE were addressed. Harriet Ellis doesn't believe they are at fault for anything. You are a company run by blind management. Treat your staff better and they won't leave. It was a choice between jumping and being pushed in terms of leaving the company and I was pushed before I could leave. Things work out in the end though. Hope you realise YOU'RE THE ISSUE one day! A man can dream. I worked for them as their Welfare Officer. I have never experienced a worse management style and a worse business owner. My own line manager was amazing and was treated terribly. The company culture is toxic through no fault of the employees. I sincerely advise against working here; the turnover rate is through the roof. You will be treated like dirt. I got on the bus home in tears at points because I was so frustrated with working there but needed the job. I had a full on breakdown in the middle of a work day because of the pressure being put on myself and my team to dish up dirt on our manager (who was amazing) and the constantly shifting goal posts. The company will chew you up and spit you out and treat every minor failure as the end of the world while management sit around and do nothing. If I could give a negative 5 review here I would. Apart from my coworkers (many of whom have also left or been fired from the company), I have not a single good thing to say about Harriet Ellis. I couldn't be happier for not being there anymore.

We have always used Harriet Ellis for our Trainee Course Provider because they always go the extra mile to help & support the Practice . In particular Preet has been absolutely wonderful in helping & supporting our most recent trainee nurse plus myself & the Principal Dentist. There were some challenging situations with completing some work & Preet went out of her way to help make things happen. In addition I would like to highlight two of her colleagues who also were extremely kind & helpful....a huge thank you to Preet , Noelia & Sara !
