I received a quick email response to my question and that is reassuring.
I bought a subscription for my rental house in Texas three years ago. I thought my title was “protected.” I never received a report stating otherwise either by mail or email. Now that I am selling my house, I discover in escrow that the builder of the house still has title to my property. My current Title Company has fixed the problem. . I did call Hometitlelock prior to this review!!! I was told that since I canceled my account when listing my property, they had no record of my information. All prior information was removed. I was specifically told that I would have to sign-up with a new membership before they could help me with my Title.
Cannot get a honest answer.
Not sure about this place, but it gives me peace of mind. So i'm happy with that, thank you.
I recently started to get numerous calls from "collection firms" that would repeat my social security number, date of birth, home address and other sensitive information to me while telling me they were filing a lien against my home. None of these debts were mine or on my credit reports which I have been watching closely since 2015. When I was advised by an attorney I work for to get Home Title Lock to be sure that no mortgages or loans would be taken out without my knowledge, I jumped to action. Within 24 hours I was able to breathe again since I got my title search back showing that nothing has happened thereon since I bought this home. Definitely suggest this service if you find yourself a victim of a data breach so severe.
It was easy to sign up for and easy to understand how their system works. Clearly the experts in this type of fraud. Quickly received assurance of the status of my title via alerts and reported records on file. I looked at the alerts and records and experienced a big sense of relief. It is nice to feel secure about the title and ownership of my largest/most valuable asset.
All customer service representatives at hometitlelock answerd my questions concisely and resolved my issue rapidly. I appreciate their outstanding service in real time.
Why would I ever go with a company that essentially explains how to steal my title and an infomercial?! So basically home title lock quadrupled their customers by explaining step by step how to steal someone's title to anyone who was thinking about stealing someone's title and putting the idea in other people's heads.
After my complaint about Home title lock James contacted me and they took care of my problem Thank you
Thank you for being so quick to respond to my question this morning.
The last person name was Brandon. He was right there Brandon told he work on my account if it gets fix. He would call back with the hour. If not, he will call back Tuesday
Beware doing business with Home title lock. They like to expose those that are not their customers. If you stop using their services they will send you a postcard exposing your personal information regarding your property. It makes me feel as if I’m being bullied to continue with the service. Never contact Home Title Lock!!
I'm monitoring several properties that I own including my elderly parents' home. This is a great service and I feel much better knowing that if any of my property titles are compromised, that I'll get a notification right away.
A total scam aimed at the elderly who don’t understand today’s technology! Anyone who has worked with real estate transactions knows it doesn’t work this way.
One of the biggest scams going today is Home Title Lock. To start with, they don't "LOCK" anything. They monitor your deed activity the same way that you can do it YOURSELF at the county clerk's website. It's FREE. Next, title fraud is EXTREMELY rare. If you are worried about it, set a reminder to check your listing (for free) on your clerk's website. Lastly, if someone did commit fruad against your property by forging a title, you haven't lost anything. Someone cannot "steal" your house or make you responsible for a mortgage by recording a fradulent title. This is a scare tactic to get you to buy a worthless service. I'm not saying that fraud on your title would't cause you some grief until it got sorted, but you are not responsible for ANYTHING. Home Title Lock is a scam. BEWARE
The one review on this site is totally unfair and mis-informed. The criminal doesn't show up at your house with a moving van. Instead, it's a sherrif attaching a foreclosure letter. By then the criminal has taken out a false loan and is long gone. Or, if you are lucky, you notice you don't get your tax bill. Either way, they criminal changes the title ($60 to $90 fee at the county) showing they own it and takes out a hard money loan. You get to fight with the hard money lender to get title back to your house. Now, I have their plan and they say I am protected, but after three weeks they realized they didn't have the right property. I'd like to find a company more engaged and timely, but they are all huge, faceless corporations. I would like to see a smaller, more responsive company provide this service.
Be WARNED !!! This company likes to scare people into believing that a Scam Artist will steal your home’s title and then toss you and your family out on to the street. Think about it. One day you are drinking coffee and you hear a knock on your door. It’s Mr. Scam Artist with a moving truck sitting in your driveway and he demands that you leave what is now “his home” and there is absolutely nothing that you can do about it. So…..for a mere $19.95 a month to this company will have Home Title Lock jumping thru multiple fire hoops to keep you and your family protected??? They also endorse a convicted home title thief to sell their services so that you are 150% confident & trusting in opening your wallet.
