Dec 06,2020Hygiene4less delivered the Ice Melt that I ordered very promptly. It was extremely well packaged. The plastic bags were wrapped inside cardboard boxes. Hence no chance of damaging the bags which would be used to store the product in my garage. Regarding the Ice Melt product: It is a round pellet. It is a dry product unlike, for example, rock salt. This means I can distribute it on my drive with a garden seed spreader without needing a separate and more expensive rock salt spreader. The product is bulky and hence a 25kg bag is both heavy and bulky. They would be fine for bulk applications such as a commercial application in a car park where 25kg might be used in a day or two. However, they would be heavy to manipulate and awkward to reseal if using small amounts around a house. I have purchased some Betsy 5L plastic air tight painters storage pots from a well known online retailer and have transferred the Ice Melt from the 25kg bag into these and a separate shaker for distributing the product on steps etc. The 5L pots are much easier to manage and will be all the more so when the weather is bad. I have also purchased a small stock of 10kg bags, which are a more expensive way to buy the product but which are easier to handle in a domestic setting. I will use these to refill the 5L plastic pots as I use them. Too early to comment on how effective the Ice Melt is compared to rock salt. I will see when the weather gets icy.
