Feb 24,2022I applied for the position of an English Learning Mentor in a secondary school in Leeds, and Demi supported me throughout the whole process. I was in regular contact with Demi, with an initial call after my application to iTeachers to help me prepare for my interview, and regular follow up calls or messages to ensure I felt comfortable, supported and happy in my new position at the school. I really could not recommend iTeachers enough, super informative and supportive staff offering fantastic opportunities to individuals looking to gain real teaching experience.

Received a lot of support throughout the application process and after receiving a job offer. Excellent communication throughout. Feb 23,2022Good for finding roles however I wasn't told what job I was interviewing for until I had confirmed the interview. My contact at i-teachers was very clear about the fact that the role was term-time only (meaning no pay in the school holidays). Once you have started the role i-teachers are ostensibly there to help you however for most of my enquiries I was told to contact the payroll company which was technically my employer. This company was very difficult to reach. The pay rate was advertised as £70 per day however this includes legally mandated holiday pay making it really minimum wage. Although the contract with the payroll company sets out a notice period of them to you of 3 weeks within the first 2 years, your contract with i-teachers can be terminated with no notice period meaning there is no job security. i-teachers should be more transparent about all of these issues in their advertising and hiring processes.

Feb 03,2022Andrew, Joe and Shehla worked as a team to support me through the process and find a job that was right for me as quickly as possible. All three were super friendly and efficient and were very responsive throughout the whole process, talking through options with me and allowing me time to make my final decision. The whole process from first phonecall to actually starting the job was only around 3 weeks, which is amazing! I was looking for something a bit different to the usual teacher training type roles as my background is in Psychology, and the team were able to accommodate this and find me three options to interview for within a matter of days. One thing I would say is that the information on each of the roles was quite vague, so in some cases I didn’t know exactly what I was interviewing for until I arrived at the school. It also took a little while for details like hours and pay to be finalised after being offered a job, delaying my decision slightly. I think it would be helpful to have clear job descriptions agreed with the schools both before and after interviews, so that options can be considered properly. Another small thing I would have liked is a bit more transparency around how pay is decided/calculated by the agency, because while questions I had about this were answered, I just prefer a more upfront approach, so these are why I gave 4 stars! Overall, I-Teachers is excellent for quickly securing a long-term/permanent role that is personalised to your interests and location. I have had a great experience and love my new job, and I would recommend I-Teachers to anyone looking to kickstart their career with the help of some really friendly people.
