Jul 01,2019Harry came and resolved a number of issues. He left a leaky loo which he may not have tested after replacing a pipe and interior flushing system but came back to mend it quickly. He was cheery, curteous and seemed competent. The labour costs are clear, if steep at GBP85+VAT, the parts costs are not clear. J&P do not provide receipts or proof of purchase of materials even when they are asked for them. This allows them to charge materials at Retail Price (ie including VAT) and then charge VAT again on net total of works and materials, thus adding a tidy 21% premium to your bill and their profit line on materials purchases. If this were not the case they would have no issue proving a copy of receipts of materials but they do not, despite repeated requests. The materials bill was not small (30% of total bill) I initially asked for the receipts from the workman who responded it was company policy not to supply those "and customers don´t have a problem with that". I was subsequently told by the office I would be sent them on posting this but on askeing for them on two further occasions I failed to obtain a response. If J&P are as transparent as they claim on their site they would have no issue supplying the receipts. If the policy is to charge a % over materials they should also be transparent and say so rather than double charge VAT. They are already puchasing materials on time that is invoiced as the workman explained to me so if there is an additional charge over purchased materials they should say so and provide receipts of goods purchased for the customer on their behalf. To anyone using this company ASK THEM TO PROVIDE RECEIPTS WHEN BUYING GOODS ON YOUR BEHALF PRIOR TO AGREEING TO THE WORK, to avoid a surcharge on your bill from double-charging of VAT.

Apr 25,2019Just want to say what a great service I received from J&P Plumbing.From the initial enquiry via the chat room the staff were professional and polite. To the plumber Richard who attended my flat and fixed the Toilet cistern issue in no time at all. Even though I had a plumber from another company 3 months prior to this who did not fix the issue, hence why is used J&P. Would recommend this company as the knowledge of the plumber was amazing and left no mess.

Mar 18,2019Thought I would share and you can make if it as you wish. Had a man come round from j and p to look at our boiler. We were told the most expensive part was broken and it would cost £1500 to repair. We told that this wouldn't guarantee repair and actually our best bet was to get a new boiler at £2500 guaranteed for 7 years. I wasn't expecting this as our boiler is 4 years old so I said I'd need to speak to my husband. This was a Monday and I have a 6 month old and the repair couldn't be done til at least Thursday- so we would have to be without heating til then. I decided to get a second opinion that night in order to see if anyone could do it sooner. Thankfully I did. I used the Italian plumber - Samuel who diagnosed a £400 problem that could be done that day. In the end there were two problems which came to just under £700 with vat. How can the diagnosis be so different? I ask you. Anyway we're 3 weeks down the line and still all things good. Oh plus little things Samuel took his shoes and was very respectful of the house - the guy from j and p just tromped into our house with his shoes on on our carpet.

Mar 08,2019Excellent service! I phoned to have my boiler repaired,Thursday evening, they arrived 8.00 Friday morning and had put a new boiler in by the evening as the old one was not longer repairable.

They arrived on time and did an excellent and thorough job servicing the boiler, were very polite and left the place clean and tidy. Their prices seem extremely reasonable, I will definitely be using them again.

Feb 09,2019Last Tuesday I booked plumber to fix three leaking toilets in school.When he came he told me that he wan't be able to fix them today and that he will come back next day with spare parts.Plumber did not show up on next day and day after.I called the office on both days and I was ensured that he will come back tomorrow.Yesterday I called the office again and one more time they ensured me that the plumber will come back today.Ofcourse he did not show up again.Office never called l me back to say that appointment was cancelled. I definitely wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. They are completely unprofessional time wasters. I think I don't have to say anything else.

Jan 16,2019In my experience, it is rare to find the professionalism and integrity I found with J&P. Initially, we had Pimlico Plumbers quote us £1,800 for unnecessary work to power flush our central heating system and change some valves. J&P assessed the work and called to say the system water was not as bad as feared and charged £500 to achieve the same result.

Oct 25,2018Very friendly booking person on the phone and got me arranged with somebody when it suited me. I liked the idea of it being a family owned business that was focused on quality of service. My guy turned up at the appointed time on the dot. Very polite. Job took a little longer than I had hoped 90 minutes instead of the hopeful 60 minutes, as a washer had dropped behind the unit. So I had to help him take the washing machine out to retrieve it and my bill was bigger. But all-in-all I was very happy with the service and my new kitchen tap is trouble-free. I'm always nervous of hiring plumbers as the bills can get out of hand. But I saw one of their van's parked up in the area, checked Trustpilot and thought why not. Didn't regret it.
