My friend and I had an amazing 3 day trip to Akagera NP with Luxury Africa Tours. This was the 3-4th time I’ve had a tour with this company and it was perfect as always. Our guide—Izra—was knowledgeable and friendly. We saw the big five and had an excellent time along the way. Strongly recommend.
Izra was amazing! A true professional and a lot of fun. We were fortunate to catch the “Big 5” with the help of Izra’s keen eye and attention to detail. I will be making every effort to revisit Akagera with my whole family and can only hope that Izra will be available to be our guide. Best money ever spent!
It was planned, organised and delivered to high standard. It was very professional and ensured all the little things were sorted (such as lunch on the day of departure). As always the delivery and continual communication is down to the tour guide provided. Israel was fantastic and kept me informed. He was in contact with any relevant guide (and porter in fact) on the various things I did, so always knew what I doing timing wise. He was engaging, informative, helpful and great company as we shared time together. He resolved any questions or minor potential issues by talking to the contacts he knew or with the company (not that there many issues to be clear, maybe some questions). Israel and the company and Nonnie who helped plan this trip made a special trip very memorable indeed and I would strongly recommend using the team, who cared about me and my experience. Well done and thank you.
We fell in love with the people and land of Rwanda as seen through the eyes of Lillian our tour coordinator and Israel our tour guide. Meticulous and detailed planning with never ending patience for our changes combined with the transparency of Lillian’s style, produces an easily executable plan. Still, no plan will prove perfect without a master of execution. With our tour guide Israel’s depth of knowledge in general and specifically of Rwanda’s past, present and future aspirations along with geography, flora and animals combined with his smile, humor and easy going attitude makes for an incredible journey and fun experience.
Our 1st safari trip anywhere. It was an experience of a lifetime. Made more memorable with Cedrik our tour guide. Full of knowledge of his country, the animals, the park his energetic approach and very cordial, patient attitude allowed us to relax and feel like we where with family. Lillian was very helpful coordinating everything and giving us some additional travel advise. Our next visit, we plan to use them again. You can't go wrong with them. Amazing service at an very competitive price.
We are very happy that our Akagera Safari was made by Luxury Africa Tours. The communication before the tour and during it was perfect. We can mention everything: the car, the driver Isra - super driver and guide!, the itinerary, the hotel (we had Akagera Game lodge), the timeing, the game drive and much more. It is a really high class tour company which we reccomend without any doubt. Special thanks to Lillian - she organised us a trip. All other trips that we will do in Rwanda we will go only with Luxury Africa Tours.
Excellent service from start to finish! After obtaining quotes from several tour operators I settled for Luxury Africa Tours and I'm very happy with my decision. The communication was quick and efficient and Lillian did a great job translating my requirements into a very attractive tour package. The tour itself was excellent too. Thus, I'd highly recommend them to anyone wishing to explore Rwanda.

Oct 12,2024(Background: I’m a solo male traveler, and this was my 15th African country.) This was my first safari so I had both high expectations but also went into it without knowing if the glittering/glamorous instagram videos and pictures of safaris would match reality. Turns out my experience was an 11/10, and absolutely memorable and life-changing. From the first interactions on WhatsApp with the company, to the reviewing my tailor-made safari itinerary according to my goals, the customer service was first rate. I booked a driver/guide from Kigali to/from Akagera National Park which I found very helpful to set the stage for the actual safari. My lodging at Ruzizi camp was literally The Jungle Cruise: I had 3 hippos hanging out in the water down the slope from the front of my tent (behind an electrified fence). The food was great, ambience quiet and serene. The safari itself was incredible. Up early @530 for a 0600 breakfast ans 0630 start, we went all day (with a packed lunch) and saw it all. Elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, hippos, Cape buffalo. Even a hyena and bush babies during a night game drive! The roads are bumpy and wild but it adds to the adventure. Bring breathable comfortable clothing (nothing dark blue as it attracts flies). They’ll provide a water bottle that you can fill up each morning and along the route as needed. I enjoyed my experience so much that I’ll be using this company again for their travel arrangements and safaris in other countries.
