Made Trade is an expertly curated marketplace for beautifully designed, ethical and sustainable goods.
Terrible experience from the start. My order was cancelled by the company. Reached out to them requesting a refund so I can get the order elsewhere. I also contacted Paypay. The company reached out and claimed a mistake was made and a new shipment will be mailed out. I requested the order was refunded since I ordered the items elsewhere. Never heard back. I get a notice that I should get the order in a few days. I replied that the items will be returned when received. The company acknowledged and replied with directions on how to return them on the website. The order arrived and tried to return the order but unable to because the website says they have already been returned. It’s impossible the order has been returned when I just got it. It’s been a ridiculous journey with this outfit. PayPal notified and claim in process.
I absolutely adore MADE TRADE! They are truly ethical, very reliable and the quality of their products is excellent! They are my go to for home decor! Definitely recommend!
I’ve ordered a few times from MadeTrade and love the quality of items and personalized customer service. Plus everything is sustainable which makes for shopping aligned with my values…and great gifts with a story behind them.
High quality vegan products, and fast shipping.
The attention to detail and the quality was great! I received exactly what I was expecting.
Perfect thank you
I've purchased several items from Made Trade over the years and had a great experience. I love how easy it is to search, the product photos are beautiful and the descriptions are clear. Made Trade makes it so much easier to shop ethically!
The quality of everything on Madetrade is so high. The website is beautiful and easy to move around. I love learning more about where what I buy comes from and how it’s made. This is the future of shopping. Thanks Madetrade.
Absolutely loved my experience shopping on Made Trade! It’s so wonderful knowing that every item has been researched ensuring that it’s ethically sourced. Everything I’ve purchased from this site has been amazing quality and the items I’ve purchased for gifts have been home runs! Don’t miss out on Made Trade items either! The tote bag is a MUST!
I received a cast iron pan from made trade and it is one of my favorite items to date. We use it daily it arrived quickly, hold up well to daily use and is supporting ethically sourced goods. The brand is a great concept and I hope it continues to take off.
I had a family member who know's I'm a supporter of Ethical businesses introduce me to Made Trade. As someone who values not only well-made pieces but also great customer service, I have to say that Made Trade is a one-stop-shop for home goods as well has that perfect gift for my loved ones. I've loved every piece I've gotten from Made Trade and am keeping my eyes peeled for my next favorite purchase from them.
I love Made Trade's products! I've bought quite a few home decor pieces and clothing items from them over the years for myself and as gifts and everything is absolutely stunning. I really value handmade items that are made in ethical conditions, so I appreciate how transparent this company is with their process.
They were kind in the email communication, but I ordered two items, one never arrived and the other one arrived one month later and it didn't fit the description of the item, so we returned it. They were either "handcrafting it", or "the U.S. Post Office returned the package" because of an insufficient address when I had given them my correct address and it was clear in the order receipt email, or the package "is delayed" again, or "we're keeping a close eye on the tracking." In this same address, I frequently receive the items I purchase online from other sellers, and I've never had a problem with a returned item or a delayed item this long. They refunded one of the orders quickly, but after 30 days of not receiving the second order and asking for a refund THREE TIMES, I had to let them know I was opening a dispute in PayPal and filing a complaint in the Bureau of Consumer Affairs and also following the guidelines of the Federal Trade Commission for this matter. Then they issued the second refund. Sadly, I will not purchase again from this seller. As evidence for what happened, I have the emails exchanged between the seller and myself. When the second item arrived, we opened it carefully. It didn't fit the description nor it matched the answers to further questions we asked about the item, which we had received from Made Trade and had made us decide tu purchase it. I am too disappointed to trust in them again.
Wanted to spend money with a more sustainable business on Black Friday, but am regreting this decision quite deeply. I spent $250 on a wooden stool, which arrived defetctive. Spent a few other hundred dollars on a few other clothing items, none of which fit, and returns are extremely onorous and expensive. Unfortunately, won't be spending any more money here.
I was looking for sustainably made pants and landed on this site. There were so many options and other products! All are carefully vetted for ethical standards so I can shop with my values. The site is easy to navigate and beautiful too. I ended up ordering the Oulu Super Long Linen Pants and the Ella Linen Pinafore Top - it's now my favorite outfit. Highly recommend for conscious shopping!
I've been trying to trade in my last order (the candle smelt of perfume, not natural as the site promotes). I've left two phone messages and two emails.
Made Trade has a wonderful website - their concept is awesome too - Too bad their customer service doesn't reflect the values they are boldly marketing online. I ordered a Masaya & Co hand made chair from El Salvador - supporting the local folks there. It's a great concept and something that made me spend a lot more money than I normally would have. Problem No. 1 - The first chair came and it made incredibly loud popping noises - we purchase this rocking chair to help rock our new baby to sleep. It does take months to receive it as well, but that wasn't a problem back then. When I communicated with MadeTrade, Maddie JoLanders told me she would make it right. I understood that she said to just hand onto the original one (later she showed me in message she later sent that she had changed this, but I missed it). In the meantime, during COVID19, my wife and I moved to somewhere more affordable than the Bay Area. Maddie shipped it to the wrong address and good thing the new tenants there advised me that the chair was shipped there so I could call (and handle getting it shipped to the correct address) - more time - more months. Baby is now 4 months old and I ordered this chair 2 months before baby was born. Problem No. 2 The second chair they sent, the handle broke off. I didn't sit on it, I put my hand on it when sitting down (like anyone would do). I messaged Maddie JoLanders back and asked what we need to do that we are not satisfied with it. She sent a message (Crafty really), stating she would give us 50% off both bad chairs (meaning she would do nothing and keep the exorbitant $990 for the chair promised). What I understood and what any other logical person would understand was that she would refund 50% the original price and then we would just keep the faulty chairs. When the money didn't show up, I sent a message - she said the matter is closed. I then called Masaya & Co, a family run business and they said that I had to work with Made Trade - their contract forces me to deal with them since it was the beautiful advertising dollars that brought me as a customer in the door. So now I have two bad chairs, I spent $990 to support some folks in El Salvador. UPDATE: Immediately following posting reviews on google, Yelp, TrustPilot and the BBB, one of the owners of Made Trade called and offered a full refund and is picking up both chairs. Six months later - Lots of time wasted. They are trying to do something good, but hopefully this is a learning experience for them.

Apr 11,20241. Buying on MadeTrade cost me more than ordering directly from the vendor, 2. MadeTrade did not provide the reusable pouch which the vendor provides with all their products, and 3. The scarf arrived with a terrible odor which I had to deal with my entire 10-day international travels (perfume couldn’t cover up the smell).
