Map Maker is a powerful tool to make & share custom maps.
Plot lat/long coordinates, upload custom data, customize map styling and colors, then export the map or share it with others for editing.
Map Maker includes a suite of data analysis tools, such as heatmaps and data clustering to enable you to quickly visualize the density and dispersion of your data-points.
We also provide a suite of tools for working with geolocation data, including a free geocoding API service.
pretty good.
It is a life saver for many who want to try things out. Only thing is in quite a few cases it returns multiple geo codes for the same address otherwise I am pretty impressed with the api.
It has great features even in the free version. Very easy to implement and the results are accurate. I highly recommend it over other platforms. We also had a question and it was answered very quickly.
Very usefull and fast api
Very Usefull
Amazing! Saved me a ton of money, easy to use api and just works great!!!! Thanks!!!
Excellent.
Reliable and accuracy
Wondefull Api. Doc is clear, use easy and speedy.
Honestly, I am relieved using maps.co services, I've been using there services for a year now and I can't recommend another service above what they offer.
Maps.co helped us to provide our service of an medium sized asset management, where we provide those addresses and locations as part of an map where the asset is located. They have nearly no downtime and we love to use this service.
I just Google and Bing to GeoCode my pictures. Just a hobby project to organize my pictures. Google changed their policy, then Bing Maps will go away. And Azure Maps would require to much of hassle to authenticate. I found maps.co and switched to it. The service is easy to use and has additional meta information. Some remarks: 1) The meta information is specific for a given country which require additional code to extract data for various countries. 2) Being Dutch and Cheap. The one request per second. It's workable but still......
I've been using the service with the API with Zero problems. Works like a charm. Exactly what I needed for my project. Thanks!
Free geocoding - I am loving it.
Using this as the geocoded location of the mobile is not always working. Improvements: add a stable field for the town/city/etc... too many keys indicating the (for me) same thing
I needed to plot a bunch of geographic locations on a map and share the data share with colleagues. This program allowed me to do that quickly and with good results.
I needed it for plotting path data and it worked great. Easy to see how it worked from the get go. Very good tool.
Best of the best
First things first. Be careful. Read the pricing before you do anything. On a free account, you are harshly limited. I am a Gamemaster for my TTRPG games and one of them is set on Earth, so, I searched far and wide to find any tool that could help me delineate certain custom territories for the purpose of worldbuilding. When it comes down to doing what it is supposed to do, this one is one of the best among the simple mapping tools. However, I was not notified of the limitations that come with a free account until I tried to place my fourth territory down after spending about three to four hours of research and careful deliberation. And that might be on me, but there was no clear indication of any limitations or what does a paid account offer before my work was done. I don't know if this is intentional or not, but I do believe that its best to be as clear as possible when it comes down to notifying and explaining to your users what are the limitations of different plans, where can you read more and, certainly, being as "loud" as possible about your paid plans. This would help any user, even as unattentive as me, understand what are their options and that they can pay for those options or find another option somewhere on the internet. Then where's also the fact that you can't export KML/KMZ files of your territories or maps in general, or at least its hidden somewhere and I couldn't find it, but that would be strange, since the option to export your map in png is quite visible (it simply exports a screenshot of the map as it is on your screen, so, worse in quality). There is also an option of exporting .csv files for markers and layers, but those seem to be pretty much the same thing and I hadn't used them at all. I wouldn't be writing this review if I had an option of exporting my work, instead of simply shutting down my account and throwing it into the trash or paying 200USD per year or 29 per month for an app that I won't even be using for a month. And no, there isn't a free trial. Finally, there's also a minor grudge, but one that it is possible to fix without ruining the owners financially. When you are done placing a custom territory, in addition to having an option to save, you also have an option to cancel. However, unlike any other button that allows you to delete your data, that cancel button doesn't make sure you meant to cancel, so a single missclick can possibly ruin hours of your work. I understand that I am not part of the target audience, I am not a data analyst nor am I a business owner. Still, I believe that these issues can and should be addressed. If not, I hope that at least other hobbyists can be spared from wasting their time.
