I was helped from total beginner to confident at making informed decisions with Forex trading with the team. Their philosophies following the principles of Vedanta resonate with me and all the trade are transparent. The team meetings are valuable to keep us learning on a regular basis and there is always someone on the end of the line to support and encourage us to be more focused. Not an easy win system without the knowledge MTM brings to the table.

I started my journey of becoming a forex trader a few years ago. Not really knowing where to begin, I came across many ‘training’ providers claiming to offer the best education and amazingly profitable trading strategies. However, having reviewed most of these so called leading companies something didn’t sit right with me. I was very apprehensive about taking the plunge but my perseverance eventually paid off when I finally came across Master the Markets! The main reason I chose to go with MTM was because the founders and I are members of various charitable organisations. This instantly put my mind at ease as I knew they shared the same values, morals and beliefs as myself therefore also giving me the confidence that I wouldn’t be mislead in any way. Having seen these guys in action it is incredible to see their passion and energy but most importantly their honesty and transparency. The education and training has been fantastic; they are extremely knowledgeable and talk so much sense. I have been mentored by them for a few years now and I can see how misleading and deceitful other trading ‘gurus’ can be. I came into the industry with no prior experience or knowledge but I am now a confident and profitable trader thanks to these guys. As with anything in life, the learning never stops and through their supportive, patient and motivational guidance I am truly learning how to master the markets.

Honest and trustworthy are two words which come to mind, the team at master the markets are fantastic and are extremely thorough when they are teaching. I had zero knowledge of forex or any type of trading, after the Traders Basecamp workshop I now feel confident to trade with the tools that I have received from Master the Markets. I would definitely recommend Master the Markets Traders Basecamp to anyone who wants to learn how to trade Forex.

SUMMARY: I am extremely disappointed in the way these guys operate. I initially signed up to their Trader's Basecamp at one of their free seminars (Trader's Basecamp is for newbies or semi-newbies). The Trader's Basecamp was supposed to be a 2 day comprehensive training on trading and I still recall Tutor 1 stating that after the weekend, we would all be able to trade on our own i.e. open trades, apply the strategies they taught etc. This was not the case. Being a semi-newbie, I had some knowledge of Forex and trading already and found their training lacking in terms of substantial content. The whole Traders Basecamp is basically a platform for them to sell their long-term training package to you. They sell their long term mentoring packages which run for 1 year, 3 years or lifetime, which starts at roughly £3K, £5K and £30K respectively. I bought a package and for an extra £500 they offered to personally mentor me as opposed to their "trained employees". If their employees are trained to do their job, why would we need to pay an extra £500 to learn directly from Tutor 1 and Tutor 2? Most of us denied this extra offer. Many many sketchy things were said - please read my detailed review below for the specifics: Day 1 This was started off with a longer than needed introduction by both Tutor 2 and Tutor 1. They each talked about themselves for a good 30mins and then went on to spend another hour doing some form of motivational speech, throwing out key buzz words and making us repeat slogans that they had come up with. Still had not learnt any proper trading basics. We eventually began to learn about the basics of Forex trading etc. The content that they shared in terms of basics was very basic i.e. you can learn all that from free content online (but we had all just paid for it). Furthermore, we were all given booklets with notes - the problem was that we all had different booklets to one another and also different to Tutor 1 and Tutor 2. This was a problem when practising questions because we could not compare our answers directly with anyone when practising the exercises. Another guy also found a mistake in his booklet which he pointed out to Tutor 2 and Tutor 2 accepted this error but did not voice this to the rest of the class. After a bit of basics, Tutor 2 spoke again about mindset and another hour or so on this topic which most of us felt was too long. When questions were asked by some of the experienced traders in the room, the pair never went into depth and usually said "we will cover this later on" and never did. They also put two testimonials up at the front of the class and invited everyone to come and look through the testimonials and the numbers. One of the testimonials showed a guy who had invested £2000 and had made £280 over one year. The problem with this was that they kept claiming this was all achieved by taking only a 1% risk of total balance, however if you look at the numbers properly the risk was actually 10% not 1% - they denied this to the end even when questioned and just said "yes the 1% is the 10% in this case" - which makes no mathematical sense. With some further lectures on new-age thinking styles etc. they brought the day to a close but before doing so they claimed "we are not selling anything at all (yet their merchandise is littered throughout the room to advertise) but we will have spoken to some of you personally because we see potential and will have invited you to our long term mentoring program". They claim we are selected on the basis of a questionnaire that we answered (this is absolute nonsense, this is just a selling tactic). They are trying to get everyone to buy their product and there is nothing wrong with that but their product is lacking in proper content in my opinion. The training program offers daily live trading "seminars" which you dial into from home. The problem is that there is absolutely no curriculum (they will claim there is) and no structure. The strategies discussed in there are are far beyond what they teach at the trader's basecamp and there is no special live trading room just for beginners - everyone from beginners to advanced levels seem to be thrown into the same seminar. Furthermore, they block you from seeing who else is online so you cannot discuss anything with anyone else or share ideas. Every single one of us that signed up for the mentoring program got a refund a few days later because the mentoring program was just a live trading room with no structure and no step by step teaching as they promised at the basecamp. It was just them providing trade signals. They also brought some gentlemen to the traders basecamp who had already enrolled on the 3 year mentoring program but after speaking to them, I realised they had no clue what they were doing in terms of trading (despite being on the program for 6months+) I appreciate everyone learns at a different pace but they basically mentioned that they don't place the trades themselves and that they just follow trade signals. At the end of day 1 we learnt the very basics of Forex and the start of their strategies. None of it was put into practise. Day 2 The next day was the technology section for which they asked us to bring in a laptop but the whole exercise was pretty much pointless, they just made us all watch a 1hour long video and told us to follow it ourselves. There was no interaction with everyone and the tutors to look at one trade together and learning whether we buy, sell or leave it. We also had a quiz session where we were shown a chart and asked to place our trades and their sizes etc. but at the end they never went through our mistakes or what we should have done. It turned out to be just a "fun" muck-about session. They also said something interesting about their trading strategies: apparently they were taught a special algorithm by a quant trader who would teach them for free but in return they should not share the knowledge with anyone. They therefore claimed that they could not teach us the algorithm and that even if they did it would take 6months to master. So the option left was to pay for their mentoring service and their own custom made indicator (which they don't properly teach you to use). Their indicator apparently has the algorithm within it. The day dragged on - they taught us their strategies but it was extremely simplistic and did not teach how to apply it live to a chart and open/close a trade. They now claimed we can learn to do that if we joined their mentoring program which is why most of us did it (but at the start of the trader's basecamp they told us everything we learn on the weekend would be fully comprehensive). We found out that their mentoring program has no structure or divisions between beginner/intermediate/advanced. They claim to have a big team behind them doing statistical analysis etc. but in reality it's about 5 of them at max just hard-selling nonsense you can find online. To make things worse, they again returned to the mindset lectures and the new-age thinking type nonsense and forced us ALL to meditate and wasted about 40mins of the day taking us through guided meditation. We were not there to learn that! Thankfully the day ended and by then they had got most of us on their mentoring program. Now they were keen for us to all deposit money into the broker account which we all joined via an affiliate link they sent to us. One of the younger guys asked, "does this broker offer spreadbetting?" Tutor 1 replied "No and you don't want to do spreadbetting because if you start making consistent profits, the broker black marks you and every time you login, they give you worse spreads than other traders". Apparently spreadbetting is when you apparently bet against the broker and therefore the brokers don't like traders spreadbetters. Tutor 1's answers were never credible in my opinion. Tutor 1's reasoning as to why their chosen broker was better than ones we had already opened were "they just are, trust me because our indicator works off their chart data" - don't all brokers use the same chart data??? Very sketchy answers - I think he felt he could say any nonsense he wanted since the crowd was full of newbies but probably missed the fact that we were all adults who could reason. The most ironic thing of all was that they claimed for the purpose of the trader's basecamp training they would focus on spreadbetting yet they hardly did and then told us to go join a broker that did not offer spreadbetting. When Tutor 1 and Tutor 2 sold us the long term packages, many of us asked how long it would take to make our money back. They got extremely irritated at this and said "why do you all care about that, it's silly". In our minds as investors we would all be looking at potential rate of return before committing to an investment so none of us understood why they were so irritated at us asking such a question. Ofcourse the truth is that it would take about 3-7 years using their strategies to make £2k if your opening balance is £2k (I just extrapolated based on one of the testimonials mentioned above at a 10% risk). My final verdict: For spending almost £1K on the course, I believe you can get much better value for money elsewhere.
