I ordered a matching set, a crib, dresser and changing tray. The changing tray was a different shade and texture than the rest of the set. Modern nursery blamed it on Da Vinci manufacturing and said they were working on it with the manufacturer to get a new batch out that actually matches and then they would send me the correct color. That was on 6/25/24. It’s 1/31/25 now. We’ve gone back and forth in a dozen or so emails over the last 7 months of them assuring me they are still working to fix the problem. I have worked in manufacturing, it doesn’t take this long to stain wood a different color and I don’t believe for a second that they’re doing anything. I just want a refund and for them stop jerking me around. I’ll gladly send the tray back.

I have had a great experience getting my nursery furniture from Modern Nursery!! My dresser had been out of stock for months, and Modern Nursery was the only retailer I could find that would let me order it with an estimated restock/ship date. Their restock/ship date was very accurate, even a month before it restocked, and customer service was VERY friendly and helpful when I asked about an order status update. Once it shipped, it arrived in 48 hours. I'm really happy I have bought all my nursery furniture with Modern Nursery!

I ordered a dresser that was put on back order, but it was too much time so when I called the person I spoke to helped come up with other options that were in stock. Even though the 2nd dresser was more expensive they helped to get it to me very quickly. Unfortunately, the dresser showed up damaged so the same lady helped me get replacement parts. Their customer service is good.

I erred in placing a couple of gift orders from Modern Nursery. Since I had linked from a registry, I thought the shipping address would be to the gift recipient. When I saw the confirmation of my order, I realized it was being shipped to me. I had a couple of other problems as well. I emailed the store and Millie from Customer Service responded quickly and took care of everything. I could not be more pleased.

Alex responded to my request for an update on my order, followed up quickly and professionally. Continued to follow up for 5 days letting me know where my order was and seemed genuinely invested in my order and my life circumstances. Excellent service!!

Never again. 5 other vendors selling the da Vinci product- made mistake of going with modern nursery. Modern nursery’s delivery vendor dumped box w/ dresser in driveway in pouring rain. 10 feet from a covered porch where the other delivery person put the da Vinci crib box (obviously a different company than modern nursery). I realize it’s their delivery company who messed up. But it’s still their responsibility and a business decision they made in selecting them. The box is soaked through though, splitting, a bolt sticking out and cannot just be moved bc it’s a heavy soaking wet cardboard box. I send them photos and email and also placed a call. They are not willing to have someone come get/move the box, they will only do a piece by piece replacement for damage. I explained that the wooden dresser in the box has been sitting in the rain, I shouldn’t have to open it and photograph every dismantled piece, match and provide a lot number in order to have situation resolved. I am also now unable to move it bc it’s a heavy wet cardboard box with a dismantled dresser inside and cannot just bring it inside with my husband as I planned bc the box is soaked. No returns, no refunds, and a have to now wait until it stops raining to go open it up in the driveway to take photos and provide lot numbers for specific pieces and they will only replace the parts with visible photo damage. Piece by piece. Even if the wood parts dry and don’t show damage, they have still been sitting in the rain. Oh- and they will not be covering the cost I now have to pay to have someone come remove this thing. Lastly they expect ME to handle comms with their delivery company about what happened so that it doesn’t happen again. As if that should also be my responsibility to deal with an issue between Modern Nursery and their chosen delivery vendor. First they blamed carters/da Vinci for this being policy then they suggest I should be handling feedback to their delivery company. Talk about passing responsibility. I am surprised Carters and Davinci allows them to sell their products bc it doesn’t look great from them either. Go with any other vendor carrying the product. I made a huge mistake using Modern Nursery. I have every intention of telling any of my mom groups and family to stay away. And for those mentioning a “family business” so was Purdue Pharma. All for helping the small business at least if I had selected Amazon or one of the other vendors, they would have helped ASAP. It’s still pouring rain and my car is still blocked by this thing. Not what I want to be dealing with while pregnant in a storm.

We had an issue with some defective parts and the customer service team (shout out to Millie!) was absolutely stellar. Prompt replies, enormously helpful, literally could not have asked for better service. Our replacement parts are already on the way less than a week after reporting an issue. 10/10 would recommend this small, family owned business to anyone in the market for nursery furniture!

I would 10/10 recommend Modern Nursery for baby furniture! They are a small, family owned business carrying great products, and most importantly, they truly appreciate their customers. My husband and I bought a crib, changing table, and dresser from Modern Nursery. We had difficulty putting the dresser together (i.e., broken parts and a locked piece). We reached out to the Modern Nursery customer service for assistance and they/Lily were extremely polite, caring, understanding, and helpful. They took the time to assist us with our issues, eventhough it meant coordinating back and forth with the vendor and ourselves. The played "middle man" wonderfully and were very communicative as well as transparent throughout the process never leaving us in the dark. When preparing for a baby, an inoperable dresser is the last thing you want to worry about and Lily understood this. They were dedicated to resolving our issues in a timely manner. Not only are the products great at Modern Nursery, their service is TOP NOTCH.

If you’re looking for quality nursery furniture from a responsible company, this is not it. First, there was a delay in delivery of the dresser, which was only resolved by Modern Nursery when we emailed the company multiple times. Then, upon white glove delivery of this dresser, there were multiple problems which we noted within 24 hours: chipped drawer front, broken soft-closing mechanism, drawers not flush with dresser front, drawer interiors not smooth/finished, no anti-tip kit. When we emailed Modern Nursery, they refused to take responsibility for poor product quality and essentially blamed us as the customers for not noticing these subtle issues at time of delivery. Then, we were provided a series of video instructions on how to fix the soft closing mechanism of the drawers ourselves (not the definition of white glove delivery in my experience). Still, there is a chipped drawer front and one of the drawers does not close appropriately. We don’t have an anti-tip kit. The interior of the drawers is not fully finished. We have requested to talk to Modern Nursery management via phone, but received no response. Overall, we wanted to support a small business but would have received better product quality and customer service at a big box retail furniture store.

Instructions for product were left for interpretation. Product failed. Instead of a return on a $500 item, they offered a 37% discount for me to buy the exact same product. They don’t make it, they had to ask a separate company about the return. They claimed family values, but pushed a corporate response. Buyer beware

The first dresser that was delivered to my house was beautiful, but the top drawer would not slide in completely. The customer service representatives were so responsive and helpful! Through more delivery issues and damage boxes delivered to my house, the representatives maintained contact, checked in with our deliveries and satisfaction, and made sure our nursery was complete through several weeks of interactions. Would 100% purchase from Modern Nursery again!!

After much research and deliberation, I decided to order the Babyletto Kiwi Glider from Modern Nursery. It shipped fast, and was easy to put together. However, after assembling, we noticed that the base was damaged. I reached out to Modern Nursery's Customer Service and was helped by Iris. Not only did Iris answer the phone directly (no waiting on hold for hours!), but every email I sent, she responded quickly and promptly. The resolution was that Babyletto would ship an entirely new glider out to me, but they were out of stock until June 20 (it is currently late May). I let Iris know that my due date was fast approaching on June 16, and if there was anything they could do to speed that up, I would be appreciative. Iris got back to me the very next day saying they were able to obtain a recliner and are shipping it out in 24 hours! I could not believe how helpful, fast and efficient it was working with Iris and Modern Nursery. I would 100% recommend ordering any baby needs from here and if anything is to go wrong, they will do all they can to help you and your baby the best that they can! Thank you Iris and Modern Nursery, you have gained a lifelong customer!

To be honest, I was hesitant to order from Modern Nursery because of their “no returns” return policy. But in the end, I’m so glad that I did. They went above and beyond to make sure my order was delivered - it even came early. There were a few issues with the order (due to the manufacturer), and their customer service (Iris) was excellent in resolving the issues in a very timely manner. They communicated consistently, were responsive, respectful, and they really care about their customers. They kept in contact and were a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend Modern Nursery!

Absolutely horrendous customer service. We ordered the Spot on Square Roh crib (nearly $2,000) and paid for white glove delivery service. Our crib was first delivered 3 weeks later than originally stated and when it was delivered, it was damaged (the wood cracked when the white glove delivery team were assembling the crib). The replacement crib arrived weeks later and the white glove delivery team left the mattress at the very bottom ground level, knowing it was for an infant. They also did not leave any materials/tools needed to raise the mattress platform. To make matters even worse, after weeks of back & forth with the customer service rep at Modern Nursery, they still wouldn’t send out a service team to raise the platform on a very heavy & very expensive crib. I had to hire a handyman to raise the mattress platform (it is very heavy & not easily done contrary to what Modern Nursery’s customer service rep said). We spent over $2200 with Modern Nursery & it was the biggest pain filled with several inconveniences. We should’ve just bought the crib through Neiman Marcus or Maisonette for a similar crib. Don’t waste your time and money with this terrible shop.

The Kiwi Glider Recliner saved my life while being pregnant and having a baby. I shopped around for ages and finally came across this power recliner I looked no further. It's both aesthetically pleasing as it is comfortable and durable. Modern Nursery has shown wonderful customer service as well! Initially I had ordered the recliner in a different color and then had a change of heart and they were completely understanding. After 6 months the recliner still worked wonderfully but had a tiny issue on the bottom which caused a clicking sound when sitting down, I emailed customer service and was so pleased to get quick helpful responses back immediately. They even went above and beyond to resolve the issue quickly. I use this chair religiously, every single day, it's comfortable, relaxing, useful, and my baby enjoys being rocked to sleep on it. My puppy even lays on it any chance he gets! It's the best purchase I've made and I'm thankful I went with this specific recliner and company!

Modern Nursery is the BEST! And even not just for baby items. There are countless places to shop online for baby products, but I am loyal to Modern Nursery because you get great customer service at great prices too. Modern Nursery has periodic sitewide sales and a great rewards program, and as of now is not required to charge sales tax to my state. These all combine to really great value price wise. I have also had a great experience when reaching out to customer service with questions on upcoming products, ordering non-baby items from brands that they carry (e.g. a king bed), etc. so you get good value for the money and have access to live and prompt customer support. I recommend this company to all of my new mom friends! I have nothing but positive things to say about every purchase at Modern Nursery and every interaction I have had with customer service. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! (If anyone complains about Modern Nursery, then they must be taking issue with the fact that items ship directly from the manufacturer which means that the manufacturer could have issues that affect the order and Modern Nursery did nothing wrong. However, the Modern Nursery customer service team goes ABOVE and BEYOND to mitigate any issues (to the point of taking a hit themselves), and if they did carry this type of inventory themselves, they likely wouldn’t be able to offer as amazing value for the money. So if there are any complaints, it seems like it would mean a fundamental misunderstanding of the fact that this is a wonderful small business and not a big-box retailer and there is simply a different business model. And I would take the great value and dedicated customer service over the other every single time.)
