I was a little concerned with how easy it would be to install and trim so I ordered the static-cling film already cut to size. It was very easy to install, looks great and does exactly what we wanted. The inclusion of the free felt edged tool was also an added bonus. Brilliant!

I had been toying with the idea of adding frosted glass for extra privacy for our ground floor bedroom window and this did not disappoint. It works great at keeping from people seeing in without compromising the amount of sun light coming in. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Jul 20,2024I wanted to go far enough into Summer to get a decent idea how this film performs. We just had our hottest day yesterday, after plenty of other warm, sunny days previously. Our apartment faces West and mid-late afternoon it was pretty unbearable with heat and glare. The options were expensive, intrusive aircon, or fans. We installed the medium-tint heat reflective film, then thought it might've been a better plan to get the darker. Instead of replacing it, I chose to lay the removable dark-tint film on top of the medium. We have three windows; Purlfrost cut all the film to size for us and in total the outlay was just over £300. It would've been £150 if I'd just gone for the dark tint alone, like a sensible person would've done.. So, what's it like? Brilliant. It has transformed our flat from seasonal, unbearable heat, to comfortable and tolerable warmth. The reduction in glare is excellent. The TV used to be washed out to the point of being unwatchable, but now all that has gone. Unlike aircon, it's a one-off payment, install and forget. I was concerned with light transmission being seriously diminished, but it's nowhere near as much as I imagined. If I was going in fresh, I'd go for the dark tint only and did not initially do so as I thought it would make the room a lot darker than it actually does. Tips: take care when installing and maybe better if two of you do it. The film can easily flip and stick to itself which is not fun. When you're smoothing over the surface to push bubbles out with, be careful not to use anything even slightly sharp-edged, or push too fast and hard as the film surface will easily scratch. Sharp plastic will scratch this easily, I did it, so bear it in mind. The product came promptly, there are explanatory videos how-to-install and with a little care, and I would absolutely recommend it as a cost-effective solution to glare and heat from the sun.
