Jul 20,2024I had been questioning my CV for a while and struggled with job applications, leading me to postpone the process for months. In my search for help, I found PurpleCV. While the pricing seemed a bit high for me, it was reasonable compared to other services. My initial interaction was via online chat with a lovely representative. I requested a call, which I was able to schedule for the same day. However, I did not receive a call at the scheduled time. After waiting for 10 minutes past the appointment, I called the number on the website. The representative apologized and assured me they would call ASAP, but hours passed with no follow-up. I called again due to the urgency of my situation, and the second representative I spoke to was quite rude and dismissive, telling me there was no one available and abruptly hanging up on me. This raised a red flag for me. I returned to the online chat and interacted with another patient and helpful representative who offered me the early package for £100, which was the same offer as before. I decided to proceed and paid for the service. The next day, I received an email from my assigned writer. After providing some information, I received a call informing me that, despite being new to the industry, I needed to upgrade to the specialist package costing £250, which I could not afford. I was on the verge of requesting a refund, but the representative was very understanding and managed to get approval from her manager to upgrade me for an additional £70, still a stretch for my budget. This package included a CV, LinkedIn profile, and cover letter, with a promised turnaround of six days. At this point, I spoke to another lovely lady on the phone because I hadn't received a confirmation email. It turned out I had mistakenly used another email address. She was very understanding and resolved the issue promptly. My writer, Shehzad, was lovely and delivered the work on time. However, I didn't feel entirely satisfied, not knowing exactly what I expected. I've watched many videos about CVs and am uncertain about what constitutes the best result. While I hope the new CV will help me secure a job soon, I feel the cover letter doesn't reflect me well, though I acknowledge the writer did a good job. Overall, my experience with PurpleCV was mixed. The customer service had both highs and lows, and while the final product was professionally done. Time will tell if it helps me in my job search.

Jul 19,2024Having paid for the service and then asked by them to pay for a more expensive package, the work was delayed for four days. When started, after negligible communication and then chasing them to reply, I was provided after 5 days a mediocre CV that was visually poor, missing key detail, and showed no significant improvement on what I provided. It lacked, entirely, the cover letter and LinkedIn review that I had paid for. I regret not checking the reviews more closely and would encourage to avoid. I am now chasing them for a refund. Updating as of 23rd May to acknowledge that I was contacted by PurpleCV who apologised and a refund has now been received.

Jul 19,2024Having been made reduntent at the end of last month I was hoping getting my CV done by a professional would give me an advantage in the job hunt. Instead, I have wasted presious time on a service that lacks the resourcse to provide what is advertised. Initally I was informed of a deylay due to workload volumes, while unfortunate I understand these things do happen and agreed to wait until Monday. I then recived an inital draft on the evening 4 days after they said they would start working on it. Only after I had contacted them to enquire about the delay. The product I recieved mised details I had already provided and when I asked for the detials to be added they were copy pasted from my email, requested formatting changes which were not added as requested, then I was informed that the writter would be out of office. As the inital request was handled without care I requested a new writter be assigned. I was assued they would reach out to me monday morning and that the product would be with me by the end of wednesday. They did not reach out to me monday morning and the CV was sent on Thusday. In which they made some interesting adjustments: * lied in CV by doubling my experience * added experience I never claimed I had. * CV now fails ATS checks * inconsistent formatting * grammatical errors * Used template to create CV dispite website claims of customisation * It's longer than my original CV * Removed arguably some of the most important infomation for my industry my: technical skills.
