THIEVES! Avoid at all costs. I placed an order in January for 2 trolleys, and prior to placing, phoned up to explain the access to the property and check there would be no delays or problems. The lady checked with the delivery company and assured me there would not be. However, there was considerable delay and no communication of this. I have been requesting my money back (£800!) for nearly 4 months and the company are refusing to give it to me unless they deduct 25% for cancellation, despite the fact they did not deliver within given timeframe. Furious, appalled and currently £800 poorer!!!!!!

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing exceptional service from Salon Equipment. From their prompt response to their wiliness to go over and beyond. I would highly recommend using them.
We have ordered backwash unit and it was marked the item is in stock and will be delivered in 5-7 days. In 4 days I've contacted customer service and asked about date of delivery and they have asked me - but when do you want it? So looks like deliveries are being planned only after client calls and asks. We were also told that backwash unit will be left by our door outside and it will be delivered on a pallet. The company deals with beauty salon equipment. Majority of beauty salon workers are ladies and they leave heavy stuff just outside without offering some extra service. So I need to find somebody to come and take it inside and also to pay for pallet disposal too after. By the way, we've paid GBP 95+VAT for transport and looks like we'll need to pay GBP100-150 extra for taking goods in and disposal of the pallet. Hopefully the backwash unit itself will be ok...
I am very sorry to write this, but I have never encountered such bad customer service in the UK. I bought a mirror, every day I had to ask for information when it would be shipped - no answer. After informing that I wanted to cancel - I immediately received information about the next day delivery. I was planning to buy the rest of the equipment for the new salon there, but I give up. I do not recommend.
I bought 3 top of the range REM styling units, which arrived damaged, and were the wrong specification. I was offered £800 to keep the damaged and wrong spec REM styling units. This was never paid. I also bought 5 new electric backwashes. The enamel wore off the basin, the footrest arrived damaged, the motor gave out. Then one by one the remote controls stopped working, making them unusable. Salon Equipment Centre had to constantly repair the back washes and the electric chairs. Now they have run out of parts, we're stuck with 5 useless unusable backwashes and still damaged REM units. AVOID AVOID AVOID

So happy with my chairs,basins,mirrors and trolleys. I had a virtual tour which was so much help on making a decision on what I was after. Nothing was to much trouble with my questions. Jenny was really helpful putting my order through and Tracy was brilliant with all my enquiries and keeping me up to date with everything.
I called very last minute looking for a basin and chair for my home studio and Jade in the office was so helpful. I was after the copper Canterbury but was advised it wasn’t in stock so she done lots of digging for me and called me back with different options that would suit my colour scheme and be available to collect or deliver in my time frame. I couldn’t be more thankful to have the pieces in time! Jade was so kind and patient and the pieces that she found for me are absolutely y stunning!
Super unprofessional!! I got 2 hairstylist chairs white with gold base for my brand new salon and was waiting for shipment more than 2 weeks. It has never arrived and when I contacted the company they said they don’t have the gold base and I have never was informed about that! Also they said they haven’t charged me but I got a message from them that I paid. Don’t waist your time with this company.

Fabulous customer service, couldn't have been more helpful. During my time within the shop and aftercare. I purchased a backwash from them. It was from stock available to purchase that day. They loaded it into the car. Nothing was too much trouble. After the purchase I needed an extra part that wasn't included in the sale. They were really helpful and found me the part and mailed it out to me that day at no extra cost. I wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future.
For a company that claims to deal with trade and businesses they offer no trade terms - so don't be fooled - this is a retail only operation. We drove half-way up the country to view the 'biggest showroom' in the UK and were a little disappointed at the lack of variety. The used selection is simply messy and items seem 'dumped' without any cleaning of preparation. Given their prices, this is disappointing. We needed to kit our whole salon out - backwashes, styling chairs, mirrors, footstools, the lot. Their lack of trade terms for 'the trade' they perpetuate to represent however ultimately resulted in them getting no business from us at that time. We called back to order some LED mirrors however a month later and would have ordered the chairs etc to match these in a year or so, depending how things had gone. We paid for the mirrors in full as their sales agent was pushy and said they are likely to sell out - they were needed for a few months time and with tradespeople booked in specifically we needed to ensure we had them. They agreed to hold onto them for us. Delivery was arranged in good time for the electrician. When the mirrors turned up the box shape seemed wrong and upon checking they had sent the wrong shape. We telephone and was told these are the ones on the invoice which we had had for months and to check the product code - as If we would know one stock number from the next. During our visit their sales agent had made a point of taking to show us the 'half-arch' mirrors as the round ones were a tad too wide. When we subsequently phoned up we were very specific and kept re-affirming it is the 'half-arch' versions we need. They agreed to send a driver to delivery the correct units and at the same time pick up the round ones. This was booked for the day after next. However the next day a driver called to say he was at our house and where were we. Our home was the billing address, not the delivery / pickup address - the salon. Upon calling again their agent said 'the code was on the invoice you could have told us it was wrong' - so trying to shift the overall blame to us for not realising their mistake! I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told there was no one else who could help us. They claimed to not have the correct delivery address, despite the incorrect items having been delivered there! No one could answer why a driver had been sent a day early to the wrong address to pick up the wrong items but without the correct ones to deliver. It's resolved now - but their attitude has been awful and we will not be using them again. You get this feeling that they think they are doing you a favour by letting you buy equipment from them. A very unprofessional and arrogant outfit, please give this firm a wide berth and shop elsewhere. I wish I had read the other reviews on here first. We will go elsewhere for our chairs and backwashes next year. Some items are just ridiculously overpriced as well - £90 for a footrest! We got four for £80 on Amazon - just as sturdy!
cant get a hold of customer service and it states they are available 24/7. i've been calling for 24 hours straight. i've emailed. this is the second company i've gone through trying to order salon equipment. they didn't apologize for the inconvenience. they were rude. and there seemed to be no rush or any interest in my issue. I will be filing a BBB report. He asked why I called several times, but yet their mailbox is full for voicemails and no one is answering my emails. I'll be cancelling my order, and going somewhere else. Don't waste your time.
This is the second time we've used SEC to buy furniture for our salon and each time we've received great customer service and fab equipment. Jade went out of her way to make the experience easy. Thank you.
I was concerned about Salon Equipment Centre's review and was not going to buy because of it. But I was very pleased. I saw a backwash basin on a group for people with home salons and fell in love with a basin that someone has. After doing a Trustpilot search I was disappointed with 3 stars and always avoid unless it is a minimum of 4 stars. However, I contacted the person on Facebook and she gave a glowing report of SEC. She said she had a scratched item and SEC speedily replaced this and they gave her a free neck cushion. She said their customer service and manner were also really good. So I did it.... I decided to call SEC as I wanted to get a feel for customer service myself and the lady I spoke to was very helpful. She explained that stock was due in at the end of January and that they would contact me to give me a date for delivery. The basin came earlier (they contacted me to arrange delivery so that I would be in) and the packaging was extremely impressive. The backwash was in excellent condition and I fell in love. The quality of the upholstery is fantastic and I cannot wait to get it plumbed in. So thank you SEC.
My experience of this Company is totally unprofessional And I’m not even going to name and shame customer service, but you know who you are it’s disgraceful how you deal with people I’m guessing it depends on what kind of day you’re having I shan’t be buying anything from you again and we’ve used you for over 11 years never had any problems like we incurred this time so disappointed not even willing to listen 🙁 didn’t even get our product we requested Just DONT USE
we have been using SEC for some years and always been over the moon with the service Tracey helped me replace a couple of units for our existing basins today literally within 5 mins they were sent out so we get them next day delivery! super helpful and cheerful staff, thanks.

Oct 19,2024Wow, what a fantastic experience we enjoyed today at SEC in Lutterworth. My daughter is in the process of opening her first hair salon (MUSE in Harrogate). We found SEC on the web and called to arrange a visit. The young lady on the phone was very professional, helpful and knowledgeable. It was really refreshing to receive such great customer service. We arrived at their fantastic and state of the art showroom where we were met with a very warm welcome and a lovely “brew” after travelling down from Yorkshire. Julie, Megan and the whole team were absolutely superb in their help and advice regarding what was needed to furnish Millie’s salon. The range of products and various colours were extensive, and we were honestly spoilt for choice. After a few hours mooching around the showroom we compiled a “wish list” of products for Megan to produce the quotation. We all sat down, discussed the various options, and agreed on a price which was very fair and competitive bearing in mind the quality of the products. Honestly we couldn’t speak highly enough about the experience, so we would thoroughly recommend SEC without hesitation. Megan, Julie and the team, thank you for all your help and giving us such a lovely experience when we visited today. We look forward to furnishing the salon with your products when they arrive.
