Savings Champion is the UK’s leading independent experts on cash based savings. Providing unbiased, personalised advice on cash, researching the very best rates from every UK savings provider.
If you're looking to find a home for your cash savings this website is a must! Transparent, informative and more to the point whole of market. Also useful financial news items in the weekly digest. People often complain about pathetic interest rates from their bank / building society. Now you have no excuse.Read their alerts and find the best rates available.
It's a shame that I can only give ' Savings Champion ' 5 stars as I would not hesitate to give more if I could. They were first brought to my attention by Paul Lewis ( BBC Moneybox/ Saga, etc ) when I heard him speak at a company pension conference, and he highlighted this independent, whole of market company who really are what it says on the tin, i.e savings champions for anyone looking for honest, trustworthy advice for cash savings and more besides if you want it. Twice weekly updates on the best rates and considered comments on current events such as the budget. These emails from company co founder Anna Bowes are among my most keenly awaited each week and having met and spoken to her, her passion for the subject is infectious and clearly rubs off on the other staff members and all advice and guidance is given in plain, straightforward language. Very highly recommended.
Always clear and useful advice, which is up to date with savings market devdlopment
Excellent unbiased comment on the cash savings market, primarily providing frequent updates on interest rates & changes as soon as they happen. Weekly (weekend) overviews with more in - depth overviews that will be of interest to those savers who favour cash holdings. You'll find interest rate league tables that include many Challanger Banks, whose voices are constantly crowded out by the large (complacecent) high street behemoths, but offer far more returns on your savings. If they Savings Champion offered a similar published service on SIPP cash deposit savings they would be peerless! Roger H
We have used Savings Champions for a few years now, originally just to cut down on the amount of sites you otherwise have to check to get the best rates. We have taken the advice offered and gone to places we normally would not have been brave enough to invest in and have benefited by this. Our recent question regarding what to do with new pension income was helpful and reassuring - sometimes that's all you want isn't it, for someone who knows more about this business than the ordinary man on the street to say " yes that's okay". We don't expect miracles - we'd be suspicious of them anyway!
I receive Saving Champion's regular informative interest rate info. However, all the rates are so paltry that I'm better off keeping my 'emergency' money in a number of current accounts (Tesco pay 3%; Nationwide pay 5% for the first year & 5% regular saver). I then use seven Peer-to-Peer accounts (offering between 4 and 11%) for the rest. OK, so you're not protected by the Government's £80,000 cover in P2P - but neither are you if you invest in funds or stocks & shares. I've had a few defaults (some covered by provision funds) but overall, the interest I've received far outweighs the losses and far exceeds anything Savings Champion offers. Peer-to-Peer investing would appear to be a 'dirty word' at Savings Champion. I did email them some time ago suggesting that they covered this type of saving for their readers benefit, but nothing has transpired. If there are any readers of this review who and new to P2P & would like to find out more about it, look up Peer2Peer Finance News.
I have used Savings Champion for many years. I find the weekly update on the savings market very informative and a useful way of keeping up to date with a full range of saving options. It encourages me to take action in order to maximise the best rates at this low interest time. It's also good to hear about new institutions entering the market place. I trust their information. Highly recommended.
The only experience of Savings Champion that I have had is when I had a problem. I did not know what to do, and sought the advice of this company. Also, I asked whether they could give me some information about a non-related matter. They went out of their way to answer my question, pointing me to information that I did not know was available on the Web (they sent me a link, after themselves enquiring). As a result, my worries are over and I am now much better-informed. Thanks, Savings Champion!
i have needed to call SC on several occasions The phone is answered immediately and help and advice freely given Emails have always been answered Service is first rate and better than the Institutes where I have actually invested
I have now emailed Saving Champions a couple of times and have had prompt replies each time. Great advice as well, thx.
I have been using Savings Champion for a couple of years now. Always had great advice and never had any problems. Just today I emailed them and got a reply within a couple of hours with advice. Great service.
The only place to find all the best interest rates on savings. They have no hidden agenda, just honest upfront information.
Your tables and articles are clear, succinct and easy to understand and always feel friendly. I'm not sure that your emphasis on 'best buys' where the difference is 0.01 or similar is a little exaggerated? An extra 10p per year per £1000 is hardly worth changing course for!
Email updates on savings accounts and the website bestbuy tables are very useful. However, I have around £140,000 in savings and have twice contacted SC by phone for advice. The first time someone was going to phone me back to offer “expert advice” but they never did. The second time, a few months later I called again after seeing a note in an email that said “if you have more than £100,000 to save then call us for custom advice and possibly better rates”. I did call and got some very superficial information which was really a restatement of what was on the website. Person was friendly enough but the experience was somewhat lacklustre.
Savings Cmapion is a good starting point for the best rates, but sometimes misses/ignores things e.g. Newbury Building Society at one time offered a higher rate than the Best Buy for call ('easy access') money (albeit only for a particular region, and also a higher rate for 'members'). To get the best rate, one must look beyond Saving Champion (e.g. Martin Lewis at Money Saving Expert)
I always look forward to receiving the latest up to date financial information from Savings Champion. Over the last 2 years I have transferred a variety of savings and ISA''s with positive results thanks to Anna, and I've just set up an account to provide a monthly income, which I wouldn't have thought of doing without Savings Champion info. Many thanks Anna and the Team.

Feb 03,2019I have followed the advice of Savings Champion from day 1. At first I used to cross check the information provided with that of similar sites. Now I go straight to their web page and choose the bank best suited for my needs. No further check are required.
