Jan 08,2025I can only comment on the contract process - not how easy it is to place a claim as I have only just taken out a policy. The first gentleman who called me after I filled out the online enquiry was very personable & helpful - transferring me to Kelly in the Commercial department. I have a boutique Bed & Breakfast which was a little tricky as i have both a registered business that takes bookings directly through my website but also through airbnb. Kelly found a broker promptly for my needs. The process was easy & quick, letting me get back to business!

After appalling service from my incumbent insurer (whom I’ve been a customer of for 21 years), I tried other big insurers to find their premiums to be very high and/or not able to provide sufficiently extensive cover. I also had a more complex home and contents risk so a broker made sense. I received excellent service and advice from Calum and I am delighted with the outcome. Not only did my premium come in significantly below the quotes from the 3 big insurers I called, but the coverage was much better in terms of sum insured and other meaningful extras. I can’t recommend Shielded Insurance and Calum highly enough; it far exceeded my expectations. Thanks so much Calum for finally solving my insurance problem at such a great price!
