Mar 03,2022I have had a few phone, Apple Mac and laptop issues lately and Bruce and the team on Slateford road have been fantastic. A genuinely helpful, trustworthy and friendly team . I can’t think of a reason why I would consider going elsewhere for my IT probs. It is so good to know there are genuinely helpful people out there!

Apr 27,2021This relates to a MacBook Pro late 2011 model which are known to have an issue with their GPU's; they eventually fail and you are unable to reboot beyond a grey screen. Having tried with Simplyfixit initially, as they were the local experts, once they had determined it was the GPU, they said it could not be fixed. I did some online research, told them there was a firmware fix available, gave them the heads up on where to find it, but they said it didn't work. They were clearly not that interested in investing some time and effort into checking out my Youtube source. I wasn't happy about discarding an otherwise perfectly good MacBook Pro, so looked around Edinburgh and found Smartfix had many good reviews. Although the guys there had never worked on this particular issue before, their attitude was really positive and were willing to take on the challenge. They invested up front in the required firmware and programmer to undertake the repair, which also requires some delicate soldering. They did so remarkably quickly, keeping me well informed at all times and most importantly, I got my laptop back, upgraded & better than new; they achieved what Simplyfixit said was not possible / not worth trying to fix. A real pleasure to deal with. Any and all future requirements I have, Smartfix will get my business and I highly recommend them.

My PC was collected when it was meant to be, I was phoned with the problem, the solution and the price, I was kept informed of progress and when my PC was fixed it was delivered back to me within the time scales we had agreed. Everything was carried out in a very friendly and helpful manner. Oh and the price was very reasonable too. Thanks very much.

Apr 18,2020Just received excellent service from SmartFix Edinburgh. Super efficient, iPad picked up in the morning and dropped off in afternoon with a new screen and back to fully functioning! All done while adhering to social distancing guidelines, would definitely use their service again.
