Have been to these Specialists over the course of many years with our beloved pets, they have always been so good, Vets always shown genuine care and concern for them. Our Cocker had a couple of big operations, performed by Henry who literally saved his life after a spontaneous pneumothorax, he was cared for so well and went on to live another 4 years. Medicine looked after our Field Spaniels Marshall and Holly over a course of several years, always listened to our concerns and again treated both with care and compassion. I couldn’t recommend them enough.

If there was a zero star I would give it. Only concerned about money. Left me waiting for 3 hours, failed to provide report into my cat to allow cancer treatment, oncologist failed to call to offer treatment plan after I had just been told cat was dying of cancer. Please please take your pet to the RVC if they get seriously unwell. I did so with my last pet and they were amazing.

We were sent here from our local vet due to the "specialist" label in their description for our beloved Spaniel Ollie. He had a lypoma on his hind leg. I could write forever on this review giving all the details and the massive bills we had to pay but the bottom line is they screwed up the op on the leg severed the sciatic nerve which ultimately lead to him having his leg amputated and guess who had to pay for that despite their error. Once you've signed that piece of paper prior to any surgery they are not liable for anything despite our complaints. Our darling Ollie has been laid to rest after enduring his final year of hell because of this money grabbing, unfeeling, corporate machine. Go anywhere but here it cost our precious boy his life. If only we had known.

Got referred here for cancer treatment. I had been quoted £2000-3000 for the SAME surgery at another hospital locally to me, but was referred here to discuss radiotherapy instead of potentially invasive surgery. radiotherapy was not even discussed as an option and just that surgery is the way to go. I agreed to book it in after a £350 phone call, they did not even discuss the price until the day before the surgery when the surgeon rang me. nearly £10,000 for the same procedure! I of course then cancelled the appointment and booked my dog in locally. OK, these guys are supposed to be specialists - so i decided to do some more digging. I enquired with another specialist referral clinic as to how much this surgery would cost, and I was quoted £5000-6000. so even comparing specialist to specialist, Southfields are still exorbitantly expensive. After reading other google reviews and trustpilot reviews for this place, I can say I agree with the theme of most of them - MONEY MONEY MONEY whats funny is that the surgeon who did the surgery my dog needed used to work here, and now no longer doesn't....didn't need to say much more than that! and still nearly half the cost!

Fantastic service from start to end. I was sceptical due to all of the negative reviews on here but my vet referred us for my boy to have TPLO surgery on his knee and having looked around most places had good and bad reviews. We booked a consultation and from the minute we arrived up to the 8 week repeat x-ray today I cannot fault them. Estaban was the surgeon who gave us so much information at the initial consultation and really put my mind at rest. No hidden fees and a package price for the surgery which included an initial x-ray and the repeat x-ray at 8 weeks. I could not have asked for more and he was amazing with my dog and really kind. You could see his love for animals shine through and I would not hesitate to use them again. Fantastic service - thank you Southfields

I was referred to this company I was called but I was unable to make an appointment because my wife wanted to attend to. I asked the prices of their services which I was given when I returned the call several days later the price jumped a £1000 before I’d even got in the door.i said it was £2500 last week now it is £3500 I canceled the appointment has a pet owner for 40years I will now not own a dog again because I am sick to death of all veterinary practices just ripping people off I it needs to be looked into fast because many animals are not being given a chance in life because vets think they can and will exploit your love of your pet for money

DO NOT TRUST SOUTHFIELDS! Look at the feedback. Real people telling the real truth about what Southfields is all about….one thing and one thing only - taking you for every penny they can rinse out of you. We all love our pets and we become susceptible and vulnerable to these utter fiends when our beloved family members become seriously ill. I too was someone who’s local Vet referred us to Southfields for specialist care. You arrive and the meet and greet is fine tuned to an art but only to the point of getting you to sign a contract of cost; in our case £2000 to £5000. Then you must pay in Advance at least 50% - £2500 cold. Then the misrepresentation begins and the costs start rising at an extortionate rate. Our beloved Ava, a 12 year-old Miniature Dashaud, was seriously ill. Our little girl was referred on the basis that she may require an operation to her spine or the removal of blood clots however, at the point of admission Southfield’s failed to mention to us that since Covid began they do not hold ANY blood products. Therefore no surgical operation to correct our little girl’s condition was Ever possible and they knew it from the start. Ava was only with Southfields for less than 68-hours and on Christmas Eve 2023 I had to argue that we could No Longer continue to pay these exorbitant fees for inpatient care and we could do what Southfields were undertaking with our little girl at home. My final invoice at checkout had risen to just under £5000. Given the chance Southfields would have kept our darling alive in a sedated state for an indefinite period of time charging us around £1000 per day - just to keep the costs rising. I have absolutely NO doubt the immoral values held by this so called Specialist. What they are completely specialist in, is rinsing you out for cash when they know a member of your family is seriously ill and Southfields take absolute advantage of this. Our little girl came home and we had Christmas Day with her but she was in terrible pain. The blood thinning medication prescribed failed and she started to bleed internally. I contacted Southfields by phone and they stated that I should withdraw her medication and to send the medication back for a refund. And I will come to this situation shortly. On the 27th of December 2023 our darling was in uncontrollable pain as the blood clots had progressed and was shutting down her body. We took the only course of action left and proceeded to our local Vet to see if anything else could be done. We were in utter distress and I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life and put our little girl to sleep. We are completely heartbroken as our little girl died in my arms. The condition that she had came on fast and progressed from start to finish in around eight days. Could she have been saved I am really not sure. But this is not what this is about - it is about a ruthless and unscrupulous so called specialist Vet. On sending back the unused medication, as instructed to do, (all in sealed blister packs, uncontaminated) I receive an email informing me that Southfields will not be refunding me the £300 for these drugs even though I was told to do so by a Senior Clinician. This time, unfortunately for Southfields, they preyed on the wrong person. And I am only just started. I have had a 40-year career in Civil and Criminal Law Enforcement. I gave Southfields the opportunity to offer me a refund of a minimum of £2500. It will come as no surprise they stated they were not willing to do so. When making any payment to Southfields do so by Credit Card or Debit Card this will offer you some protection by way of “Misrepresentation by the Merchant”. You can file a Section 75 Claim Back with the financial institution used in the transaction. The Credit card company will immediately suspend the transaction giving you the opportunity to put your claim forward which is then independently investigated. In my case the Credit Card company has initially refunded me £1751.00 out of £2500, when Southfields were offering nothing and I have not finished yet. A precedent has now been set by this refund and I am now writing to the Veterinary Governing body reporting Southfields for severe misconduct in practice and misrepresentation under a number of Acts of Law. PET LOVERS - DO NOT ACCEPT THIS BEHAVIOR, PROTECT YOURSELVES AND FIGHT FOR HONESTY AND JUSTICE. DO NOT ALLOW SOUTHFIELDS TO CONTINUE THIS DISHONESTY.

This company (Southfields Veterinary Specialists at Cranes Point) which is part of the Linnaeus / Mars series of companies preaches that it looks after it's Associates and treated everyone well - now for the reality. Let me tell you it is no fun to work for them either. There is no money to change things that are wrong, all they care about is profit. There are staff shortages and no one is happy, there is a massive turnover of staff constantly. If you are there for a year you will be lucky. Management at site are awful, they put more and more on you, often ill informed, ill trained, make incorrect decisions, rule with an iron fist. Their only driving force is not patient care and welfare but money. You have to beg, borrow and steal to get the resources you need. Other staff - what I will say though is staff at ground level are excellent, many of them care very passionately about their roles and the work they do but with both hands tied behind you back it's very hard and on most it has taken it's toll. The building is very new but already has quite a few problems mainly because it has been built on the cheap, now there is a surprise. Ignore all the corporate spin and do not use them or join up with them as a member of staff, if you do then get as much as you can out of them and then move on as that is what most people do. Over the past year they have lost a lot of staff, many positions have been left unfilled for a long time as they cannot get people to fill or stay long enough. If they could keep their staff they wouldn't have to do this in the first place. Improvement in conditions and work life badly needed. If you are a customer then staff will do their very best for your animal but the company will try to get a ridiculous amount of money out of you and they do not care!

Money, money, money that's all they want. I'm sure they have targets to meet. Charged me £46 for an ointment that is £8 in boots. Recommended my dog has his eye removed for £8000 cos he had a benign tumour behind it. Other option was 5 days radiotherapy for £10,0000. Got 2nd opinion and was advised not to remove eye at all as vision is fine. Just want money and eager for your dog to stay overnight with them so they can charge you more. I would nor use again

To be honest, it’s not even worth 1 star. Google reviews are clearly written by themselves, because by looking on here they do not truly reflect people’s experience with them. Where do I begin. To cut a very long story short, my dog hurt her paw, we went to our vets for x rays who sent them to Southfields. Southfields then said she had broken a bone and to rest her. After a long period of rest it didn’t improve, and she was still lame on 3 legs. We opted to be seen by Southfields, who after many x rays said there was nothing wrong with her, even though they gave the initial diagnosis. They wouldn’t accept this however, but left my dog bleeding on her stomach from the clamps, and terrified as the vet we had was awful with her - not trying to calm or reassure her once. After nearly £2000, they discharged us and told us to rest her. We did so AGAIN, but again it didn’t improve. We opted to go to Queen Mother Royal Veterinary College and they were fantastic. The vets themselves were kind, reassuring and actually listened to us and our concerns. They x rayed her, and behold - a broken bone was found. Which Southfields ‘couldn’t see’. She had an operation and is doing so much better. I put a complaint in with Southfields and have heard absolutely nothing since the original acknowledgment. I have emailed time and time again, with no response. My last email providing the report from RVC, was sent beginning of September and I have not even had an acknowledgment to this one. It’s funny… their communications was amazing when taking the money from us!!! They are beyond incompetent, and I wouldn’t ever take my dog near them or their establishment. Awful service, awful experience. Please please avoid! If you can, go to Royal Veterinary College. I have tried to sort this out through emails and contact, however they are beyond useless - and I am note going through other avenues to complain formally, including speaking with RCVS.

I was referred to Southfields by my own vet. This horrendous experience will stay with me for a very long time. The initial consultation was thorough, the initial vet I spoke to seemed semi interested, at just shy of £500 it was steep but I was assured I was doing the right thing - that's where it ended. Southfields refused to use any of the diagnostic imaging or scans which my own vet had done just 2 weeks earlier, insisting that I must have all imaging redone (at a cost of £3.5k) I was charged just shy of £20 on top of that for 2 paracetamol tablets (yes, 2 single tablets, the kind you buy in the supermarket for 39p) My dog deteriorated once on medication for what had been diagnosed, Southfields refused to see her and insisted I go back to my own referring vet. My own vet could then re refer after the bank holiday. At a total loss as to what to do my own vet nursed my dog through, Southfields weren't interested. Eventually I managed to get an appointment and took her back in, my dog was taken off me and I have no idea what they did to her in that short time but she lost the use of her legs, I begged to be able to see her, all they were interested in was me agreeing to more scans and tests and more expensive medications. When I was able to see her on a Sunday - having been told they were too busy to allow owners too come in, I immediately asked for her to euthanised, she was so so poorly and pumping all these drugs into her was having no effect. I was told that had she been insured and cost wasn't such a huge influencer they could do more for her - they couldn't! I was made to feel that because I self fund - the money is there, I just chose to question ever single procedure and ask why and what the benefit to the dog is. Because of this I was made to feel I being neglectful. So in little over 2 weeks, I spent in excess of £10k and still had to beg for my dog to be put out of her misery. You might think this was where the awful experience would end, sadly not. I was hounded for the final bill payment but not supplied with an invoice, when I did get an invoice I could see that I had been billed for a number of things I didn't have, like 12hrs intensive nursing AFTER she had been euthanised. I was hounded daily by the customer 'care' team, sent a link to the payment portal, eventually I spoke to someone in finance who amended the bill. The final nail in the coffin was the laminated paw prints that arrived over a month after her death, laminated and cut into a heart shape, something you might be proud of you 5 year old child for producing, not a large practice with a dedicated customer care team! So that's all I have to remember my faithful little dog by. Her last days suffering in a kennel in the hospital, me unable to see her and advocate for her to put out of her suffering, Southfields pumping her full of drugs to keep her going and run up a huge bill. Very telling that once she had passed the vet said there was no amount of scans or medication that would have reversed what she had been diagnosed with. The only care being dispensed by Southfields is for the payment, overinflated prices, awful customer care and animal welfare at the very bottom of the list! Steer well clear of this practice, for the good of your beloved pet!

We were referred to Southfields, by an emergency vet. My experience of their professionalism is somewhat clouded by their ignorance to the suffering of my dog. Playing god, and manipulating vulnerable owners needs to be reviewed. This terrible experience I have endured will stay with me the rest of my life.

Our vet referred my cat to Southfields. I took my cat to the practice and paid the invoice in full, but I did not request the complete invoice (an unfortunate decision). After some time, I received a call from them saying that I still needed to pay £125.48. I asked what treatments I needed to pay for and why they were charging me after my visit. The receptionist said they would check and get back to me, but it did not happen. I had to return with my cat for an additional treatment and was asked to pay this outstanding fee again. And again, I was told they would check the treatments and call me, but it didn't happen. Then I received an email saying that I must pay this fee and started receiving SMS reminders. I asked again what these treatments were that would sum up to £125.48 and why I received this after the invoice was paid in full (I have a breakdown of the invoice with this additional fee). They explained to me that some treatment costs went through after my visit, but I still can't receive an answer about what these treatments are. Additionally, I noticed they charged me twice for my cat's sedation (for first 30 minutes). They admitted the mistake and owe me £31.99, but they deducted £125.48, which is unfair as I still have no idea what I am paying for.

My miniature dachshund Hugo was referred as he had high calcium levels in his blood. The initial consultation was very expensive and it was recommended that he had a scan which lead to him having to have surgery to remove a nodule from his thyroid. The whole experience for me and Hugo was fantastic, everyone that had any dealings with us were very kind and compassionate and very obviously animal lovers. Yes, it was very expensive and we are OAP's but one must be a responsible pet owner and take out insurance which covers most of the cost . Glad to say Hugo back to his usual happy self

My dog Jerry had lymphoma cancer & brain tumour & was incredibly sick. My vets referred Jerry to Southfields & they treated him with dignity & respect. He was seen very quickly & had chemotherapy. He is now thankfully in complete remission & is like a puppy again (he’s 11 years old) He’s been given a new lease of life due to the treatment that he had at Southfields, really can’t thank them enough for giving my dog a new lease of life. All the staff there are so helpful & friendly, even when he goes for his 6 weekly check ups, the nurses all want to see him & give him treats. They make an awful situation so exciting for him, that he actually looks forward to going there & can’t wait to get in there. Thank you to everyone there for all your kindness & help towards Jerry. Would highly recommend them.

After being ripped off by our pet insurance we found ourselves in the dilemma of putting our dog down or raising the money for his operation. We choose to take on the financial burden Southfields do nothing for free. They are all about the money they have no care for the dogs or their owners. After pleading for a bandage change for free we were declined and charged £160 for a 5 minute bandage change even though we have paid well over £7000 to them for our dog. I have nothing good to say about them now and will be escalating my complaint to the royal college of vets . The people operating this organisation should be truly ashamed of them selves

WARNING! The only thing they care about is money, money, money. I was referred to them by a local vets. They told me it would cost £8-£10,000 and my puppy needed operating on urgently - I had to tell them to put my puppy down - with my children screaming and crying please don’t kill him. I managed to get hold of my local vets and he told me to race my puppy to him. But Southfields refused to release the dying puppy without £900 plus all my insurance documents in hand 3am. Which I did. I drove 2 hours round trip and my local vets checked him over but Southfields refused to forward any blood results or scans and these had to be done again at more cost. In the end the puppy was saved and is an enormous part of our family - total cost £2500! Southfields then charged an extra £900 - total £1800 fir what? I tried complaining- appealing mediation ! Always on deaf ears. Just threars of debt collect or court! Scammed !!!
