Jul 17,2023Had a great time doing the course a while back. I was attending with a colleague and found ourselves in amongst a large contingent of NHS staff. Had a fantastic time and learnt some valuable skills as well. It was particularly good to see how the instructor Ian brought people together to work as a team who wouldn't ordinarily do so!

Jul 17,2023Ian organised a Challenging Yorkshire 3 peaks hike for our Group of 15 year olds. Everything was brilliantly set up, hot drinks & food stations for the lads & dads, and all went as clockwork! We all couldn't recommend Ian Highly enough.

Jul 16,2023I’ve had two woodland weekends with Spartan Survival and both have been AMAZING! My first was a weekend with me and my 13 year old daughter learning to build our own shelter, whittle tent pegs, build fires in the rain, cook food, forage and so much more. The second was a team building weekend with business colleagues which was huge fun. I can’t recommend these guys more highly. Spartan Survival were happy to change their usual weekend programme to suit our particular team (all businesswomen, of whom a couple had had survival training already) and were willing to include our ideas to make the weekend very special. Two great experiences- I’m so looking forward to our next adventure! Thank you Ian and team x

Jul 01,2023DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY, DEALT WITH IAN HUNTINGTON. WE BOOKED LEVEL 1 AND HAD TO CANCEL 2 DAYS BEFORE DUE TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW. OUR 12 YEAR OLD GIRL WAS BOOKED ON WITH US . WE COULDNT EVEN GET OUT OF OUR DRIVE . IAN WAS HAPPY TO CANCEL AND RESCHEUDLE. WE HEARD NOTHING FOR 3 MONTHS SO CONTACTED HIM AND HE SAID HE HAS SEPTEMBER BUT WE SAID WE WOULD RATHER HAVE REFUND. HE REFUSED THIS AS WE CANCELLED AND STATED CLAUSE 4, HE SAID WE SHOULD OF STILL GONE AHEAD IN 6 INCHES OF SNOW AND CAMPED OUT IN THE SNOW WITH OUR DAUGHTER, WE HAVE EVEN SAID WE WILL TAKE PART REFUND SO HES NOT OUT OF POCKET. LEVEL 1 IS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN BUT NOT ACCORDING TO IAN . DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AS THEY KEEP YOUR MONEY AND WONT REFUND. HIS ATTITUDE IS TERRIBLE AND EXPECTS 12 YEAR OLDS TO SLEEP WILD IN THE SNOW. WHAT A JOKE OF A MAN. HE HAS ALSO BLOCKED ME ON TEXT AND WHATS APP AS WONT DEAL WITH ANY PROBLEMS. DO NOT USE IAN HUNTINGTON HE IS A BULLY !!

Feb 28,2023My husband and 12 year old daughter just completed the level 1 bushcraft survival weekend. Wow- they loved every minute! A weekend of connection, fresh air, learning new skills and fun. Could not recommend this experience enough. They have taken away memories and knowledge that will last a lifetime. Thankyou to Ian and the team, what a brilliant experience.

Oct 01,2022I first had the pleasure of meeting Jack & Ian in July 2021. As a Psychotherapist working with adolescents we decided to team up to provide Spartan Survival Bushcraft Camping Experience for small groups of my clients who were seeking life skills, help with confidence building, reducing anxiety, stress & panic attacks & developing resilience which all assists in improving mental health. Spartan Survival provide a fun overnight camping experience, based on military techniques, using military equipment & delivered by Elite Military Instructors. Life skills taught on the course include the following • constructing your own shelter from a military basha to keep you safe from the elements • first aid lessons • tracking and observation skills • learning basic navigation • learning various techniques in how to start a fire • cooking military rations in the wild • axe throwing competition • teamwork exercises & loads of fun. Spartan Survival provide all food & equipment, each individual only need bring their toiletries, a change of clothes, waterproof clothing & comfortable shoes/boots. The survival courses events take place in a private, peaceful forest in Cholmondeley, Cheshire. I attended a Spartan Survival course without clients, with a group of other adults & Spartan's rule of no phones/technology - which of course includes social media - is a significant one. For me personally I experienced a deeper connection with my environment, it enabled me to be immersed in the peaceful forest & fully engage with the activities, to not be distracted with worrying about & organising my life. When I have attended as a co facilitator of the course with adolescent groups who are also clients that attend psychotherapy sessions with me, their experience of a Spartan Survival course 'technology fast' for 2 days was enlightening, changing their need to be constantly checking tiktok, their insta account & their appearance. The adolescent's beliefs about what they could accomplish changed, instead of the adults accepting a ' I can't do this' attitude, genuinely believing & encouraging them helped them to overcome what seemed like impossible obstacles & achieve the impossible, something no other adult in their life had thought to respectfully challenge. The first Spartan Survival course Kaleidoscope Psychotherapy did together was in October 2021 so we have been working together for a year. Spartan Instructors Ian, Jack & Albert provide fun & challenging learning activities, whilst at the same time are kind & patient in their teaching & have a great sense of humour.

Aug 15,2022(Review is based on the Level 2 Bushcraft experience - 3 days) - This has to be one of the best things you can do in your life that offers you so much insight into living from the forest (not food). You're given a British Army Bergen full of all the necessary stuff you'll need to 'survive' (don't worry you're not left to totally fend for yourself, that's the other course they do!). From there the instructor Ian will run through the bag contents and you'll immediately start to setup your tarp tent. You'll learn about different configurations, knots, setting up your sleep area etc. The rest of the time you'll learn things such as fire starting techniques, making your own wooden mallet, making a bow saw and much more (well recommended experiences). They provide all the food and drinks so don't worry you're not expected to have a 'bush tucker' menu. Ian cooked all the food for us and wow, what a menu we enjoyed and being done over an open fire made it a thousand times more enjoyable. When you sit down and talk with Ian you'll get an understanding of his incredible experiences throughout his career and can clearly see why he's as good as it gets. You never have a dull moment in camp I can tell you. So I totally recommend trying out this experience or a similar one they offer as you'll come back with great memories and new found skills. They offer corporate events too, which I think would be a great day out for any business wanting to offer staff something a little different and really help the staff bond. Thank you Ian, it was an experience we never regretted and have fond memories to keep for life.

Jul 26,2022I was one of the participants for last weekends CBC ladies Bushcraft Course. I didn’t quite know what to expect & I am very much a novice as far as outdoor camping activities go. This experience certainly took me out of my comfort zone & it certainly develops resilience. A Well structured course with great instruction, delivered by Ian & Jack. All together very encouraging & inclusive for all. The wet weather didn’t impede us achieving the full course activities. A great & memorable experience I would certainly recommend this course

Jul 25,2022Just had the most fantastic Chester Business Club ladies bushcraft weekend with Spartan Survival - enjoyed every minute! Loved making our own flatbread on the campfire and sleeping in my cosy nest. I’m very proud I was all snug and dry despite some overnight rain. It was very therapeutic listening to the gentle patter of raindrops on my “basher”! Big thanks to Ian and Jack for a memorable experience and well done for keeping us ladies on task - most of the time!

May 09,2022We have just got back from a weekend with Spartan Survival. We took 36 children aged 6-14 and it was the best and most successful camp / weekend away we have done thanks to the great team they have. My favourite part about it was there was never any stress about anything like timing / silly rules etc everything was just done in a way the kids never got bored but at the same time there was also always something to do or time to chill out. We have been on other camps and the instructors are on our backs to have all the kids ready and at a certain spot at an exact time and pressure just builds and kids get cranky. This weekend was not like that and was really appreciated.

They walked us complete beginners through the weapons system and were kind enough to take me aside and teach me how the weapon system worked, making it so much easier to catch up to the more experienced players. They were incredibly welcoming and I 100%recommend it to anyone thinking of starting airsoft.

May 01,2022If your wanting to massively improve you airsoft game then the tier 1 tactics course is what you need. You’ll be taught weapon handling, instinctive shooting, room clearance, CQB drills and more. The course also changes the way you think about what your doing and your surroundings. Instructors not only teach you as a group but also take time for one on one. Massively enjoyed this course and will be back to do it again. Will be looking at the tier 2 course also.

Apr 28,2022Honestly the best experience for me, my partner and our two boys. Back to basics, step away from crazy day to day lives and electronics. I can not wait to do this again (summer hopefully). Two days quality time as a family learning survival skills with ex elite personnel.... such a unique and memorable experience. Huge thanks to Ian and Jack for giving us this opportunity. Jul 25,2023I booked a place on this course unsure what to expect. But after completing Level 1 Bushcraft I can genuinely say it was totally transformative. As someone who runs their own business, I am often under high levels of pressure and spend far too much time on my phone and on other devices. Taking time out, under the brilliant direction of course leader Ian Huntington enabled me to regroup, reset and recharge. Family and friends both mentioned how refreshed I looked and acted upon returning. And now, nearly a year on, I am still using skills and tips acquired on the course. Can't recommend it highly enough. NB: Course leader Ian also was incredibly understanding about a sudden last minute change with regard to attendees within our party. Went out of his way to make sure the course could be adapted.
