Swoop's Sales Specialist and Customer Experience Coordinator made it possible for me to plan, book and embark on my trip to Antarctica just 1 month before the expedition start date. I had never heard of Swoop before and was initially unsure if they were a genuine company. Having gone and returned from my Antarctica expedition in December 2024, with a few extra days in Buenos Aires, I can say for certain that Swoop is absolutely genuine and reliable!!
Excellent advice beyond what's available on expedition cruise operators' web sites.
I discovered Swoop while searching for an Antarctica adventure, specifically one that would search for an Emperor penguin colony. My first contact Otto sold me on Swoop's value with his enthusiasm, knowledge and obvious love for the continent. When I decided to include Argentina in the trip, I met two more agents who were equally competent and exuberant. The itinerary covered 4 1/2 weeks, and the execution was seamless. I never wondered where I needed to be or when. Lunch packs were waiting at the front desk on hiking days, and every local agency used was professional and friendly. It was a great trip and not one I could have easily put together on my own. Swoop covered the details with a deep knowledge of the area and activities.
Swoop-Antarctica was our polar cruise agent for our recent cruise to Antarctica from November 14-24, 2024. I almost by luck came across them during an internet search for someone to help us navigate all the available options out there - and I am so grateful that we chose them. They are THE polar cruise experts and you can stop searching around for a company to arrange your next trip to the white continent because you've found it! They have a comprehensive website with an exhaustive range of options to help you build the trip of a lifetime - and they deliver on that in spades! One way to measure a company is to gauge how they treat you after they have your money - and I have to say that they were literally with us all the way on this trip. They prepare you ahead of time with expert advice and such things as packing lists, "what to expect videos" and suggested reading and watching lists, but the single biggest resource they have are there customer experience specialists who are there to offer expert advice but help answer all of your questions and they truly devote themselves to making sure that your trip is a memory of a lifetime. If you happen to get Ali as your assigned specialist then you have one of the best I've ever dealt with. You can read all the reviews and do your online homework, but you really should just go ahead and book with Swoop - you'll be in great hands.
Our trip to EccoCamp in Patagonia was one that will remain in our memories and our heart forever. Patagonia is majestic, beautiful and awe inspiring. The mountains, the lakes, the Glaciers and of course most important, the people. Our guides were very knowledgeable in many areas including Geography, orology, and in my case, particularly in ornithology. I am always very interested and curious in identifying new bird species. Thank you to all my guides for loving birds and animals. I was surprised at how much wildlife we did see in our stay in Patagonia. We were all very impressed in the organization of our stay at Ecco Camp made special by Swoop. We were pleased with our lodging, facilities, food and beverage and the fact that the camp specialized in being Ecco friendly made it that much more impressive. Thank you to all for sharing your land and resources with us. We will never forget our experience.
The entire crew were “top shelf.”
Swoop Antarctica is THE BEST! I booked a trip to the Antarctic to photograph the Emperor Penguins on Snow Hill Island. Throughout the process, Swoop was honest with the odds of seeing the Emperors, they never misled me into believing it was a guarantee, but what they delivered was beyond my expectations. The weather cooperated and the mv Ortelius got us to our destination. The experience was awe-inspiring! In addition, my Swoop Trip Representative took care of all my requests and needs throughout. She was responsive, attentive to my needs, and was of invaluable assistance. She made my travels worry free. I would DEFINITELY book with Swoop for future adventures!
Nardus and Alicia at Swoop Antarctica were wonderful in dealing with our enquiry and booking. We travelled on the small Quark ship Ocean Explorer, following Shackleton's journey to Antarctica via Falkland Islands and South Georgia. Swoop provided an extensive overview of the itinerary and the price to travel with Quark was very reasonable. Once we had booked with Swoop on Quark's expedition ship (Ocean Explorer) Swoop provided us with easy access to our Swoop Adventure Planner with details of our ship, travel itinerary, the required documentation we needed to upload and clear details on cruise travel insurance. Swoop's Adventure Planner makes it very easy to keep up with what you have provided and any outstanding documentation you need to upload. Swoop kept us updated with regular emails, reminders and updates. They were fast to respond to our questions and provided us with everything we needed to have an excellent Antarctic journey. We highly recommend Swoop if you are planning an expedition journey to Antarctica.
Swoop's attention to detail in planning the trip and follow up along the way made for a truly memorable journey. I rarely give exceptional reviews but Swoop earned it. The Staff of the Seaventure and Polar Latitudes made for a truly amazing experience.
Found one sailing that charged only the "per person" rate for a single traveler in a cabin. Cruises usually have huge single supplements. Kept in regular contact and provided detailed advice via emails, and podcasts.
A fantastic trip and experience with Swoop! Stefano helped me find the right voyage and Ali handled all of the details from flights to hotel reservations. I couldn't be happier with the experience. You have to see Antarctica. It's magical. My favorite trip ever!
We are a couple and we were looking into a cruise to Antartica when we got in touch with Swoop. We submitted an inquiry on their site and Nardus from Swoop reached back to us immediately. He was very professional, knowledgable and kind throughout the process and has given us many options to consider for our trip. While our plans got changed in the meantime, Nardus was still understanding and helpful. We are frequent travelers and must admit it's rare to find this level of service and professionalism in the industry, specifically when you're looking to book a trip of the lifetime it's a must to have someone with experience and knowledge to help you out choose the right option (full pros/cons outlined and really some honest feedback). We are so glad we decided to get connected with them and would recommend them to anyone anytime!
Our Swoop Antarctica trip to the Falklands, South Georgia and Antarctica was absolutely wonderful. The relatively small size of the ship (120 passengers) was excellent; and we loved the mix of passengers with many from Australia and Canada as well as the U.S. The staff and guides were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Our recommendations would be not to miss South Georgia, which was a highlight. It was a trip of a lifetime.
Awesome company, accommodations, staff, ships crew, food, equipment…..everything. The adventure was without compromises and gave both my honey and myself memories that will last forever. Don’t expect a 2,000 passenger cruise ship as the Ortelius will far exceed any of that bs….be ready for a genuine adventure with genuine people aboard a very comfortable, genuine adventure ship.
Swoop folks were super helpful, friendly and found a Antarctica trips that suited my interests for a more active experience that included longer hikes, snowshoeing, basic mountaineering, sea kayaking and snow camping in addition to zodiac cruises and landings for shorter walks, fabulous opportunities to observe and photograph wildlife, flora, landscapes, seascapes, icebergs, historical sites. Also, the other travelers were just as jazzed as I am about the included activities. We enjoyed sharing life stories as well as our experiences together. I started with Oceanwide, a company Swoop suggested, for a trip to Antarctic peninsula in December 2023 and liked that trip so much, I did a second trip with Oceanwide to Falklands and South Georgia and Antarctic peninsula in February 2024 and and a third to Greenland in September 2024. All three trips were fantastic!
I had not heard of SWOOP before. I spoke with the representative and they were knowledgeable regarding my travel plans and desires. I also, was pleased that they were not "pushy" in having me make my decision. I felt very confident in working with SWOOP. They were fantastic after the purchase in following me and the transition to the expedition team member.
Swoop exceeded my expectations in every way. They were prompt in communications and detailed with their descriptions. If voice calls are needed to address questions, they had representatives available to help right away. Their website is user friendly and the dashboard housed all of my flight details, cabin information, and the important piece…the itinerary. I highly recommend Swoop for your travels to the mysterious and last continent…ANTARCTICA!
The entire trip was well coordinated by Swoop and their representatives. They looked after the pre and post rip accommodations, answered all our questions and provided very informative documents that answered all our trip questions. The staff on the ship were incredible in being attentive to our comfort, needs and safety. The food was superb and the scenery of the Antarctic was breathtaking. I highly recommend Swoop if you are thinking of an Antarctic vacation.
The trip to Antarctica was perfect. The ship was grand and the crew was excellent. The professional staff were knowledgeable and wanted everyone to have a great experience. It was great to have updates daily, and staff who worked to make every expedition special and safe.
