Buying and setting up a new laptop can be a daunting prospect, but James of Tech Class gave me the confidence of having a job well done. James sourced me a great deal with the purchase and went to great pains to set up the device to suit my needs exactly ….. and at a reasonable cost. I finished with a laptop I was happy with, that was safe and secure and that had everything on it that I required. Not only that, but James got my old computer going again so that I could use it before purchasing the new one. James has been of great assistance in helping me to understand my computer as I am rather a dinosaur where computers are concerned. He used everyday language making it easier to understand those processes I was unsure about which gave me more confidence in using my computer. Since my friend/technical advisor died I have been totally at sea with technology. James came to my rescue after I saw an advert in the Farndon Focus. Poor James! I didn`t even have the techno language to explain the problems. He was very patient and took the time to translate for me whilst he sorted out my mess. I had my most recent home visit from TECH CLASS on Friday 22 July to change my modem to BT Halo 2 and to update various internet devices. I have been using James McCarter at TECH CLASS for a number of years when I require IT support to ensure that I have confidence in the functioning of my personal internet. I am a very mature man with limited systems knowledge and find James's friendly attitude and patient approach in explaining what actions are required very satisfying.
I needed to update technology and was increasingly frustrated at how things were changing at such a fast pace. James was recommended to me and he listened carefully to what I needed and spoke in plain English rather than Technical jargon. He advised me what I needed to purchase and then came to install it and gave extra security advice too. I would thoroughly recommend anyone who needs support with technology to use James.
From seeking James McCarters advise on updating my very old computer, to the installation and very patient tutorials. You could not wish for better service than that provided by TECH CLASS.

James was very helpful in solving many issues that I had with my ageing MacBook Pro. He successfully updated it with a new operating system, to give a few more years’ service. He was always on time, Covid cautious and pleasant company. He even helped me to understand our new TV controls! I would highly recommend him.
Although I can read and follow instructions in most areas of life, there have been times when Microsoft and Apple have left me baffled. Then is the time to call James. If it is a complex problem he will work on it until he finds a solution. If the problem is simple he'll fix it and be on his way. First port of call for PC, iPad and TV problems.

James is really helpful and patient when you have a computer problem at describing what to do and how to go about it. He's helped us with our computer problems a number of times. I'm moving house soon so he's advised what I need to do beforehand. He'll come to the new home and set up the Wifi, computer and printer which I definitely wouldn't be able to do on my own.
Having read site reviews for some time, I found it unusual to see one so revered with 100% 5 star ratings. I had no knowledge of this when the laptop and tablet decided to 'play possum' and deny proper access to the outside Covid world. Fortunately, on reaching for the village mag., James was listed offering help and that's exactly what he did - and more! I find it difficult to add to the superlatives already used, so suffice it to say that both devices were very soon back on form with the minimum of fuss yet the maximum of plain speak, which was such a relief for one more used to carrier pigeons and pressing Button A (?) for good communication. Thank you so much for being there, James; you deserve these ratings. I don't look forward to the pain of 'next time', but it's assuring to know you'll be there with all the solutions. James G.

James came when he said and set up our laptop quickly giving us all the options. He also arrived fully kitted out to keep us safe from covid!!!

Aug 08,2024For many months we were having a nightmare with our computer, laptop and printer. Their performance was erratic to say the least. James came initially to assess the problem. He quickly identified that the modem was outdated and organised a new one transferring from BT to EE. Our present computer and printer were not compatible and James sort out a good deal for a new printer. The next stage was to find a new computer compatible with the printer. Again he found a really great deal for us, plus a good deal for Microsoft Office and an excellent two year deal for security software saving us time and money. He has reduced our bill to BT as well. James is very knowledgeable, is a pleasure to deal with and listens to what you need. He is also at the end of a phone should you need him.
