Nov 10,2022Abbot's did a fantastic job. The product page was excellent, the product was reasonably priced, it was sent out fast and well packed, all in all it was a superb job. But once the parcel left Abbot's, the not so good stuff started. DHL's stuff is confusing in terms of the costs related to importing, since they call it a "service" when I handle the import declaration myself. I heard that they've charged handsomely for this. Apparently it's changed, but getting this information was hard. Still, while annoying, it wouldn't stop me from buying again now that I know better. What probably does stop me from buying again (from Finland, if that should help you), however, are the extra costs. The shipping costs are fairly princely as they start from something like 23 euros (I pay something like that for a 12-bottle box of wine). Anyway, that's not too bad. The real killer are the VAT and the import charges. These totalled to over 80 euros. So, to actually get the pair I needed to pay about 70% more than the price on the page was. I'm still very happy with the product, and they were still significantly cheaper than a new pair would have been (that's about 270 vs 485 euros). Even so, it's unlikely I'll be ordering again. That said, if I was a UK customer I would've been delighted with it all.
