I have not received my declaration for my new policy. I have spoken with a representative twice to get my mortgage notified and payments from my impound account but nothing was done. My mortgage has now notified me that I do not have home owners insurance. I have no way to prove I have insurance and now notified my mortgage to try to get proof from Bamboo since I have not received any. So far I am not impressed.
Reviewers take it personally and almost act like you're asking them for a favor. They're too busy to take calls or even pick up their phone, terrible on communication! They bad mouth eachother within the company and don't get you any results.... stay away from this company!!
After applying for home insurance, it took a very long time to get approval from the underwriters. Even though we have no claims and a long term tenant for more than 8 (Eight) years and a clean property, they kept on asking for pictures that we provided over and over again. With clean record and no claims, we expect better service from Bamboo to get a home insurance.
WORST OF THE WORST!! I HAVE A GAS LEAK with 4 DAYS NOW WITHOUT GAS IN FEAR OF FIRE AND THIUS COMPANY HAS DONE NOTHING!!! YOU HAVE NO ONE TO CONTACT AND NO ONE CARES, SO I ASSUME THIS IS THE CHEAPEST AND DIRTIEST OF THEM ALL!!! I AM GETTING SCAM CALLS AND ALL THESE OTHER COMPANIES CALLING IN REGARD OF MY CLAIM, THIS IS A SCAM COMPANY WITH SCAMMERS LIKE SHANNON LEMON WHO CLEARLY DOES CARE ABOUT HER JOB OR CUSTOMERS!!! BE AWARE!!
Derek Avery was very responsive and accommodating. A positive experience.
Quick and easy process- gave us different options based on my insurance budget. The agent was great and was able to help me with a policy.
I contacted your company regarding homeowners insurance early December with my given address and zip code. Your agent Raul contacted and confirmed you would cover my home. We started the process and he even got it approved through the under writers. He called me to confirm the process for coverage was ready and he sent me the docusign paperwork to my email for insurance confirmation. Once again I confirmed with him that this was full fire coverage for my home and he confirmed with me it was. I was incredibly thrilled to hear this considering it’s almost impossible to find home owners insurance in the California urban interface anymore. Upon sending me the contract he called me a couple minutes after to tell me he looked at the map and said my address fell under an area you did not cover so just disregard the email!!! How do you lead someone on to believe they are covered for this long of a time even after being asked multiple times that it is not an error? This should be something done on day one of request. I lost multiple weeks of trying to shop for a different carrier with the belief that you would be covering my property. This is completely unprofessional and shows a complete lack of knowledge of the job. Then to top it all off he had the nerve to ask if I would still be interested in a quote from him for DIC still! Why would I trust this guy to handle anything for me at this point? I am absolutely disgusted with the way this was handled by your employee and I hope it’s not a representation of how you do things there.
If you are thinking of saving a few hundred dollars by paying an unknown company like “Bamboo” then you are in for the biggest mistake of your life. Things happen for a reason, so don’t make that mistake. There are a lot of things you can learn, either by someone telling you and educating you for free, or in a tough way by getting into a situation where you expect help but end up paying an extra cost. In my experience with "Bamboo", filing a claim with them will result in two things: firstly, your claim is denied, and secondly, your claim is lower than the detectable amount. In both cases, you will receive nothing from them and will lose your home. You think you are covered by insurance, but you are not. Just a few hundreds more and you will be covered by a well-known company and you will have the peace of mind that if something happens to you or to your property, you will be covered. Please take my advice. I have been hit by this company twice and the first thing I will do is cancel my policy with BS company.
Bamboo was able to cover us for an older house when others could not. The process was super easy.
Great customer service and competitive pricing
I went through policygenius looking for a California homeowners insurance policy because AAA is a garbage insurance company. Oh my god speaking of garbage insurance companies: Bamboo - make sure you read homeeverything's review about how they don't want to pay legit claims. Before they issue coverage, they string you along. make you jump through hoops. take a bunch of pictures. they also said I could get a home inspection without any guarantee that they would write a policy. Now why would I pay $450 for a professional home inspection only to have some crappy insurance company say sorry. Avoid this scammer Chinese insurance company at all cost. Forget about 15 pictures of the interior of my house and they want more pictures they're just collecting information on American citizens. Hey cheap insurance company why don't you send just an inspector out and have him look at the house instead of make me do all the work?
Daniel was great! Very responsive and helpful
Avoid get a policy with Bamboo. In my experience, they will do anything to avoid coverage and you will have to fight them tooth and nail. So get ready with your lawyer from the get go. File a complaint with the DOI as soon as they miss the 1st 15-30 day period and consult with a public adjuster. Otherwise they will do anything to deny you coverage afforded in your policy
