Barbour is a family-owned British heritage brand, established in 1894 in the North East of England. They are renowned for their practical and stylish, outerwear, clothing, accessories and footwear. Forever synonymous with the British countryside, Barbour’s collections span from the best practical country clothing to fashion-forward lifestyle collections. To this day Barbour’s ranges continue to be inspired by the company’s archives which date back to 1910 and each season classic designs are re-interpreted into modern, contemporary silhouettes.
Barbour wellies after minimal use have significant cracks in the outer layer on the sides of both wellies, making them leak - obviously not ideal for wellies! When I reached out to customer service, they offered 10% off.. I expect that if wellies have a fault that makes them no longer fit for purpose, Barbour should rectify the issue at least with a replacement. Disappointed with the outcome as a family member has a pair of wellies from another brand which have offered a replacement when there has been an issue.
Barbour Shooting Breeks. The clasp is prone to failure and after the first pair were returned after one use, the 2nd is failing after about 20 days use and for 199 it’s not on. The clasp is not rigorous enough for country pursuits crossing fences etc. perhaps more suited to the office. A large button would be more appropriate with a strong thread. Barbour made me fill out a claims report 2 times only to reply ‘…we can’t offer a repair service or warranty’. Musto on the other hand and perhaps others will offer lifetime repair. They are just not what they used to be.
I feel, sadly, that the quality of Barbour clothing has gone downhill. I bought my husband a pair of slippers and in a short space of time the inner lining has come adrift and started to pull out when he takes his foot out. I also bought him a Dunoon shirt last year that didn’t have any stiffening in the collar as they always have done. It looks untidy and cheap. I decided to try again and bought another but it is exactly the same, after calling Barbour they tell me it is a design change and they will be like this going forward. I am a longstanding customer of Barbour but I won’t be buying anything else from them.
After a distressing and frankly dehumanising experience with DPD, Karen from customer services, you have restored my faith in humanity ❤️ Thank you
I've bought jackets from Barbour before, but this time I bought my first waxed one, a Sleddale. The order arrived the next day ! I love the look and the fit, I couldn't be happier. I had a couple of of queries regarding the maintenance of the jacket, and customer service were excellent. An extremely happy customer.
Ordered a couple of the Corbridge jackets. Fit was too tight for me, found the sizing guide on the site unhelpful to be honest. However can't argue with the quality of the jacket itself. Returns process was pretty decent too.
Poor customer service, didn't receive package delivered to my home, DPD delivered to the post office. It is difficult me to get out as I am disabled, I told Barbour of this and nobody cared. No resolution except pick it up from the post office or it will be returned to Barbour. Terrible way to treat customers, don't waste your hard earned money with them.
I have recently used the re wax and repair service. I can’t fault it. My coat has been returned with new sleeves, cuffs and a re wax. They even managed to remove the cat hair! I was looking to replace it this year but couldn’t find a coat with the same thickness of lining. Money well spent as looks like new. Will send my son’s next. Well done Barbour.
I have used Barbour for many years as I find the quality hardwearing and stylish. Recently I was looking to purchase a new lightweight jacket but was disappointed to find the yellow Barbour motif too large which distracted from the quality and to my mind cheapened the look of the garment.
I have been buying Barbour for my family and dogs for decades; I have always loved the brand and it has always been a joke to friends that I always have some article of Barbour clothing on me. However in the last year I have had 2 pairs of slippers, 2 dog collars and 1 lead, a baseball hat, a pair of jogging bottoms, full size wellingtons and a gillet that have not lasted more than a few months. Foolishly I ignored the fact the Barbour quality has gone and bought some ankle wellingtons. By the second wear the insoles on both wellingtons kept rising up, making them entirely useless. I was told to buy some glue and glue them in - something I would not expect to have to do with a cheap pair of boots! Needless to say after decades of using Barbour I will no longer be buying their products.
I’ve shopped both in-store and online, and the service, as well as the quality of the items, has been excellent. I’ve bought a range of garments and even used their rewaxing service for my coat, and everything has been fantastic. More recently, I wanted to replace some wellingtons that were out of warranty. I had a question about a pair I found online, and to my surprise, instead of seizing a new sales opportunity, they replaced them free of charge.
I bought a Barbour elisha fleece size 12 - super cosy, a bit big for size but fine. Big downside is the pockets - other than a tissue you can’t put anything in without it falling out- eg phone , no zips and no inside pockets at all! . This is penny pinching on an expensive product and just terrible design from a company that’s supposed to be all about practicality and being outdoors really regret my purchase.
Great service, fixed the issue thoroughly and posted back in Barbour bag efficiently.
Nundenn, eine Barbourjacke hält also einfach mal kein ganzes Jahr. Das sollte man vor dem Kauf bedenken.
I sent my very grubby 14 year old barbour coat to be cleaned and rewaxed . Omg it's like a new coat, what a brilliant service worth every penny.
Wanted to return a coat rung them and asked for a QR code as I don't have a printer they told me they do not l issue QR codes but would send me a label instread.TWO phone calls and a week later they still havnt sent it.Poor customer service they obviously didn't want me to return the coat which was too small for me. Eventually someone printed the label for me so I have now returned it.I will.not be purchasing anything from barbour again. Bad experience and very poor customer service
Had issues with a purchase 1 month after buying. John Lewis would not help (no receipts) but went direct to Barbour and they were excellent. Katy in customer services resolved the issue very quickly and professionally. Couldn't praise them highly enough - excellent customer service.

Dec 10,2024I have 2 waxed jackets which I love, as all my family do with theirs. I thought I’d try a jumper so bought one online. It didn’t suit me so I looked to return it. This is where Barbour lets itself and its premium brand association down. Return was free with “in-post” but took 7 days to get the confirmation email, which went on to say a refund would be issued within 14 days. That’s potentially 21 days from return to refund which I don’t think is acceptable, given the value of the items. Do better Barbour.
