Have left a review previously, which I still fully back. This year the lease of my boat came to an end, so the ownership came to me, and I had to change flag, as I was not residing in the country the boat was registered before. The de-registration process was long, and was undertaken by the leasing company, so no responsibility for the folks here. Had done my due diligence, trying to find a way to register my boat fast, in another country, so I could salvage at least a week of sailing. I got a promise from Jeroen that he would wrap it up in a week. On the site of course they advertise a 3 day process. So I submitted everything on July 23, and got the documents on August 10. This was 3 weeks, not 3 days. Of course by then I had returned to Switzerland, and all costs incurred in anticipation of that 1 week of sailing, went down the drain, some 20,000 euros. Meanwhile my insurance company had ceased coverage as the boat remained unregistered. More costs 5here too. Even more disturbing was their lack of communication and attitude. Jeroen insulted me repeatedly when I was pushing for a solution. He wrote in an email “ You are the kind of person who thinks that with screaming and shouting and making threats he will get what he wants.” What a way to treat a client! Of course I started “screaming and shouting” after following up on July 31st, without anyone coming back to me for 4 days! They were clearly hiding. My application had fallen through the cracks, and they blamed it on COVID-19. Meantime they kept advertising a 3 day process on their site, and never put a warning for delays due to Covid anywhere (site and official email communication). They still charge an 80% premium compared to an alternate, equally rated service offering Polish registration in 7 working days, which seems to be a more honest promise anyway. I was never offered an apology for all this. Only insults, aggressive responses, excuses and the like. And obviously no response to my question on when exactly (date and time) did they apply for the Polish registration. I have a legal right to get a response on this question by the way. In summary, this operation is run by crooks. They use misleading advertising, they don’t warn when there might be delays, they charge 80% premium compared to comparable similar companies, they treat customers like plebs, by insulting them and ignoring them when they place legitimate and legal requests. They may have a good reputation, and deliver more often than not, but is this the type of people you want to be dealing with? This is a question for all potential clients to answer.

Although we still wait for the official documents Yacht Registration Holland was very quick and professional with our request. I was hoping on a bit more sharing of their expertise, as some of my questions did not get answers, but probably that had to do more with our lack of clarity than the knowledge of Yacht Registration Holland. The MMSI license was very quick, the yacht registration took little longer mainly due to some bureaucracy issues but was promply dealt by the YRH. Thankyou for the service provided.
