I can see Brunel has great reviews so I decided to request quotes for my thatched cottage, I did this about 3 weeks prior to my renewal, I made contact with Brunel and gave my contact details and an questionnaire was to be sent before a quote given. I waited a week and had no contact or questionnaire. I contacted Brunel after a week and they had no record of my details. I spoke to a broker and I supplied details of property. A questionnaire was to be sent that day, it did not arrive, I contacted them again and the questionnaire was then sent. I filled in the questionnaire details and sent off. A few days before my renewal date I was contacted ,requesting details of my chimney height, I sent details, I was then asked to send more details. My renewal date passed on 28th November with no quotes or correspondence. What can I say, I had to renew with my previous insurance company. To date I have not had any correspondence 4th December. BS Update since response on 6th December from Brunel, I have had no correspondence from Brunel, a simple apology or message I feel would have been appropriate, I really do hope they improve their customer service as this is key to a successful business. I am not competent to rate the broker as I don’t know enough about the company, but I can say that I have been impressed with two of their representatives. One is Steve May, high up in the management hierarchy, I assume, who is very competent and helpful to clients. Steven is also eloquent but doesn’t use evasive, lawyer like language or sound bites. The other exceptionally helpful gentleman is Daniel Boorsma. He is punctual, well organised, meticulous in his approach, and very diligent at following up and completing required objectives. I have had no hesitation to recommend those two gentlemen to my friends and colleagues.

I used Brunel for a few years and was told at the end of December that they couldn't find me any insurance for my work despite having an extremely low accident rate and never making a claim. They gave me just over two weeks to find new insurance, because this was over the Christmas period it made it incredibly difficult to find brokers that were open long enough to find me a quote. They did there best to get me an extension, however when they couldn't do this they failed to call me and tell me that they were unsuccessful leaving me in the dark. The individual dealing with me was called Robert who I felt did not plan accordingly for this situation.
Like many companies we had stuck with the same insurance broker for years. After Brunel quoted for us we changed over. Not only the price but the personal service we got and face to face which we lost with our other broker made it an easy choice to switch! Never looked back and still very competitive.

Jan 22,2025I was looking at insurance online for an annual multi-trip policy. I called a provider, as I had a question about coverage for new pandemics; They advised I call BIBA, who then transferred my call to Brunel. The Brunel agent Philip was abrupt and patronising. He asked me about quotes I'd seen online, and advised Brunel would be more expensive. I didn't get chance to ask my original question about coverage for pandemics; He also advised I should organise my trip details for the whole year before booking insurance, which is completely unrealistic given I'll be travelling and will need to have some flexibility on dates and locations. I wasn't even expecting to be passed to Brunel. From this recent contact, I wouldn't recommend them. I felt unwelcome and unheard.
