I did two Camp Thailand trips last year - Camp Island Explorer and Camp Elephant and Beaches. Both were incredible. I’d recommend Island Explorer for the travellers wanting to see the typical Thailand you see on Instagram and amazing parties. And I’d recommend Elephant and Beaches to those looking for an authentic experience to challenge themselves and be open to new ways of living. During the camps, I was provided with amazing activities and made some of the best friendships. It’s the perfect way to backpack in a more relaxing way as everything is sorted for you, and also great as an introduction to solo travel. 5/5 stars from me.

Camp Thailand has changed my life! Or should I say Brooke(the rep) , she was amazing and wouldn’t of made the trip as fun as it was without her she honestly made sure we was all okay and helped us with anything we needed and was always there for us!

I was originally meant to do Camp Thailand in 2020 before Covid hit, the team were really helpful throughout the uncertainty of covid and moved my booking over. I finally went in June 2022, I took part in the Island Explorer programme which was the best experience of my life. The reps Brooke and Prim became more like best friends than reps. They both made sure everything was organised for us and gave plenty of recommendations. All of the accommodation that we stayed in on the island explorer programme was lovely and a lot better than I originally expected. I would 100% recommend travelling with Intravelr/Camp Thailand, in particular their Island Explorer programme!

Camp Thailand has been one of the best experiences of my life I couldn't recommend it enough,if it wasn’t for Brooke (my rep) I don’t think it would have been as good. she went above and beyond for everyone. She encouraged me to continue my travels to other countries and even apply for the rep job with intraveler. the whole experience was eye opening and honestly life changing my confidence since the trip has drastically improved it has encouraged me to continue travelling solo I couldn’t thank Brooke and the camp Thailand crew enough for everything they have done for me this trip

I just got back from camp elephant and beaches and the trip was very poorly organised and the itinery was changed last Minuit with no communication so we had paid for a lot of things that we then did not receive. Waisted money on a large coach for our trip when we could have saved money on a smaller one and used that for something worth while. Not worth the money I paid

It is truly hard to put into words how amazing camp thailand is! From start to finish I embarked on the most amazing experience. Everything was planned perfectly and Brooke was the best rep and even went above and beyond to sort out individual activities. I would 100000% recommend for anybody looking to solo travel or travel with friends - no regrets!

This will be a long review but one that is realistic. Hotels: Bangkok we stayed in siam 2. It was ok. Rooms very dated and shower werent great. It was probably the worst out of the 4 but did the job for one night. The next was in Phuket (orchid resort and spa). Great hotel! Great swimming pool and even better air con. Breakfast was okay but wouldn't have paid for it if it wasn't included. The 3rd one in phi phi ( gypsy seaview) wasn't clean. I mean it did the job but it was probably the dirtiest and had no real toiletry offerings. and the towels were questionable! Pool was small but okay. it was slightly out of the way a bit but once you got your bearings it wasnt so bad. Money: Now this is probably the most important part of the review. They say you need 250 for a week. Absolutely not. This is wayyyy under what you need and its quite bad that this is the recommendation. id say for 12 days youd need probably 600 pounds. No food is included really and most activities youll either pay to do or pay for something when youre there like food or entry. If you was tight and was selective you might get away with 300 but then youd be restricting your trip. most nights you go out to eat and drink and you can easily do 2 thousand Baht. it all depends on how much you eat and drink and how much you want to do when you're out there. for example the scuba diving is 3,200 and the water park is an entry of 1000. if you do the view point it costs 300 for the travel etc etc, you see where im getting at! you can withdraw money out there so no big deal if you dont bring enough but trust me, it all adds up as there is only 1 dinner paid and one hotel that offers free breakfast. Positive comments: the trip itself is amazing. The activities were great and varied, we had enough time to rest and chill as well dotted through the trip, the reps did a good job etc. The elephant sanctuary was the best alongside all the little excursions we did like view points and just general exploring. Nights out were brilliant because of the atmosphere of the group but Patong beach was the best. Water park is a must, do not miss out! Phi Phi was the most beautiful place ever and very worth doing the walk to the view point. You wouldnt experience thailand like it without the camp and its pretty much organized from the get go! Improvements/warnings: Pool parties were okay! they offer one in phuket which was at the hotel and another in Krabi but it was a bit meh. Not much going on and if there is the other group sometimes they can take over a bit but it might have been just the group of people on when we were there! the one is krabi was a disaster as you eat before but the food takes so long youre finished at 10pm and then its hard to then want to drink and then drink around in a pool. most went back that night. YOU NEED TO GET BREAKFAST. so many mornings most of us didnt have time to eat and then when we get to lunch you end up spending loads cos youre starving. There is a 7/11 near most hotels, stock up on cereal bars and water as usually there isnt much else you can do for brekkie and they wont wait around for you as most days start at 8.30! They offer a " bbq on the beach".... its not a bbq and its not on the beach. its in a little restaurant near the beach where you cook your own chicken noodle soup. Dont get too excited! we were all bitterly disappointed, trust me! only positive is was its free. Tiger temple- totally dangerous trip and probably wouldnt recommend, theres monkeys and when i say monkeys i means 10s to a hundred monkeys. they try grab you and your bags and its just hell. Youve got to try and get up 1200 steps without being attacked and to be honest not worth getting rabies for! we ended up waiting 3 hours for the brave (or stupid) to complete the walk which kinda ruined the day. emerald pool was okay but was packed so again, lots of waiting around if thats not your thing! better off taking a days rest to sunbathe! Sometimes the plan for the next day comes in late so dont expect to know your itinerary straight away. We didnt even know the hotels we were staying in until right up to the day! Last thing- you fly to bangkok as youre there to start off with but you pretty much end the trip in Krabi. The last day is wasted due to having to travel back to bangkok for 12 hours just to fly from there. You could always organize your flight to go home from either Krabi or Phuket as its quicker and you get home much easier! just need to pay for a taxi. Theres so much more i could say but in a brief overview i feel that's most of the important things discussed! Regardless of a few things that were a bit mislead or not up my street, the trip is 100% worth doing. sure you need more money than they say, and somethings may not be worth doing, but its still a trip of a lifetime. Go for it :)

Had the best time on camp Thailand! Honestly the best experience of my life! Met some amazing people, and have made friends for life. All of the activities were absolutely amazing, there wasn’t one bad day. The elephants and scuba diving were my highlights. Dom and Kero were the best reps, always down for a party, took us to some amazing bars, were a shoulder to cry on. You’d be stupid not to go on one of the excursions! Holiday of a life time

Honestly this trip was the best 20 days of my life, camp Thailand so above and beyond to make peoples dreams come true, our rep brooke was not only our mother for a few weeks but became our best of friend and it was sad when we had to go back home. I couldn’t recommend camp Thailand enough, your activities are all arranged for you, your transfers and pick ups are all arranged as well, so are your hotels, it’s the most stress free trip ever, I was worried about being with strange people on the other side of the world, but as soon as I arrived I was greeted with such delightful people who I have made friends for life with. It’s worth the money and time and the best part for my was meeting and looking after the elephants, if that’s not enough to convince you to go on this trip I don’t know what will. Thank you camp Thailand and brooke, can’t wait for my next adventure 🥹

Couldn’t recommend camp thailand enough. Everything went to plan and our rep Ellie was amazing. She started as a rep and instantly became a friend, a nurse, a counsellor and a role model all at the same time. It’s scary going travelling on your own but we met such lovely people during camp. I’d definelty do it again

Camp Thailand have rinsed people who's trips got cancelled because of COVID. No refund is offered, instead they nick your £300 deposit. I do not recommend as their terms and conditions do not cover participants backs, only theirselves. Be careful when booking and be certain you are happy to put your money down as if something goes wrong you won't be able to get your money back.

The refund policy of this company and cancellation charges are in no way in line with any holiday company. Its students or parents paying for this experience and I feel ripped off. My daughter signed up to go pre pandemic and had paid a few instalments. As holidays were cancelled and countries closed borders it was obvious the trip would not happen. The trip was deferred until 2022 but my daughter decided she no longer wanted to go due to personal reasons. When we looked into cancelling we realised the refund policy is a rip off. Between 73 hours of booking and 122 days before departure - 25% of programme cost. Think carefully about booking as you will loose a lot of money if you change your mind about going.

Crooks , absolute crooks. They are not refunding for holidays that they cancelled. had to claim through ABTA. they are liars do not trust. They will lie and tell you that you cannot claim but you can. Your bank will refund you if they wont

During the coronavirus camp Thailand is obliged as regulated by the travel industry to give you full refunds if your trip was cancelled. Their website says If I cancel now due to coronavIrus wIll I get a refund? We will not be issuing direct refunds due to COVID-19. This is against UK regulations, arrange a chargeback with your card company or contact ABTA

PLEASE READ THE CANCELLATION POLICY CLEARLY IF YOU BOOK THIS!!!! We had to pay 25% of the cost which equated to £300, as it was cancelled after 72 hours of booking, even though the trip was not until June and the company has plenty of time to secure others for this place. I understand that a charge is quite acceptable for admin etc ( would've accepted the £50 deposit being lost)however, 25% is VERY excessive for a young student, or anyone for that matter, who had to cancel due to very sad, unforeseen circumstances. Yes, the policy is there as an attachment but hardly emphasised or easy to see. Extremely disappointed with our experience with this company and just wanted to try to help others avoid this situation. ALWAYS READ THE AGREEMENT, CANCELLATION POLICY AND SMALL PRINT CLEARLY BEFORE SIGNING.

I went to Camp Thailand this year and it was an amazing experience, the reps were great from start to finish really made sure we had a good time. The Camp activities and places we visited were so stunning especially seeing the elephants. It was my first time solo travelling and I would 100% do it again on one of their Camp programs.

I have just finished my three weeks with Camp Thailand doing the Phuket programme. To be completely honest with you, yes it is far cheaper to go out there and do it yourself, however, you'd be missing out on the whole experience that Camp has to offer. If I went out there on my own, I wouldn't have met the 30 other amazing people that I did, and certainly wouldn't have known where to go and what to do. Trust me, I was doing the exact same thing as you are now, before I booked it and I have no regrets. The itinerary all went to plan, even if the weather didn't always cooperate. We went during monsoon season and barely even got as much rain as the weather app says we were going to, and if we did, it really didn't matter. I have to admit, you do get quite a lot of free time, especially on teaching days where you are only teaching for 2 hours at the most. However, your camp members are all on a Facebook group chat and if people aren't sitting by the pool, someone WILL put a message on the group chat to suggest doing something, like going to the beach or going out for the evening. Don't panic like I did, thinking you're going to be sitting in your hotel room the whole time. The reps on our programme gave us a list of optional activities on the first few days for us to decide on. For us, we were offered: quad biking, bungy jumping, muay Thai boxing match, ziplining, ladyboy show, cinema, half-moon party. You're looking at an average of 1,000 baht per activity which is roughly £27. I did the quad biking, muay Thai boxing match, half-moon party and ziplining and these were all good fun! I'd suggest you do a few, it does break up the day rather than just sunbathing all the time, and you are adding more memories to the experience! Your accommodation is always hotels, where you stay with one other person (of the same gender) that you can pick, but because our camp only had three boys, there were 3 in a room together. The hotel where we stayed during the first two weeks in Phuket, was in a place called Bamboo House that had decent wifi, okay showers and the comfiest beds. None of us could complain. The hotel in Koh Phi Phi was the complete opposite, the showers were cold, beds not comfy and wifi was non-existent. (Luckily a lot of us had Thai sims). But we were barely in our rooms so it didn't matter. The hotel in Krabi was our favourite; warm showers, comfy beds, amazing wifi, lovely warm pool, food/water restocked in the fridges every day! This goes the same for the hotel you stay in the night before you fly home, as it is part of the same-named branch (Marina Express). Obviously, the accommodation may change in time but we all were happy the majority of the trip. Besides, you are BARELY in that room because you are so busy. Moneywise, essentially the most important part. It does all add up. The Phuket programme, to my knowledge, is the most expensive camp at £1200 that covers for your accommodation, anything on the itinerary and all of your transport to these activities on the itinerary. You will find yourself saying 'what am I even paying for?' but you certainly aren't getting robbed, that money is going to use. Flights will vary depending on your airline and when you booked your flight, mine was around £850 but I saw flights as little as £500 and as big as £1000. You have to pay for your DBS check (£50), travel insurance which varies (mine was £40 but some people got theirs for £15, the highest someone paid was £120) and finally your food and drink whilst you're out there. This is probably what nearly put me off. SOME days you may get a meal included but the chances are, you are going to have to pay for your meals. You'll get free water every day in your hotel room but that's it. Anyone that moans about how much they spent most likely didn't budget well. You'll find some people will finish the holiday spending over £1000 in the 3 weeks, others spent as less as £500. It all depends on what you spend on, if you're going out every night drinking and going to expensive restaurants, of course, you'll spend loads of money. They say Thailand is cheaper, don't get me wrong it is, but you're still looking at about £8-10 for a meal and £3-8 for alcoholic drinks. Overall, I spent £700 and that covered all the extra activities I did, alcohol (and I did go on quite a few nights out...), all your lunches and dinners at restaurants, snacks from 7/11 (where you will live off toasties!) so that's around £230 a week, Camp recommended me £200-250 a week which is reasonable. Overall, I would recommend Camp Thailand if you're looking for an experience where it is all planned for you, reps who can help you with any information and if you want to make friends for life. However, if you are just wanting to brave it, and completely go out to Thailand alone and do it for yourself, that's great but you'll have a completely different experience. It all comes down to what you want to get out of your trip. Don't let a bad review persuade your decision, that was their experience and yours could and most likely, will be completely different.
