Carolina Cabin Rentals made our Christmas vacation wonderful. They are very informative and have excellent customer service. Our house was was clean , great beds, nice hot tub! Very cozy. The neighborhood was very nice and convenient to Appalachian Ski. Can't wait to go back!

We are with a Church organization that decided to go back down for a second time to the Boone area and serve with Samaritan’s Purse with the disaster cleanup from hurricane Helene. We decided this time we would stay in a large vacation home to accommodate the group that was coming to volunteer and so we found a place from the agency “Carolina Cabin Rentals”. I was able to reserve it with little to no trouble, and my money was received immediately in full. The night before, we were supposed to arrive at the cabin on 11-18-24 thru 11-21-24, my brother had a very serious stroke. He was the driver and one of our leads for the trip. Of course, the only right thing to do at that time was to reschedule the volunteer trip. So, I proceeded the very next morning on the18th To notify Carolina Cabin rentals of the medical emergency and they expressed to me that the “cancellation policy” will “stay intact”, their exact words, and that , Not only will they NOT give us a refund , they will in addition NOT allow us to choose another day and use the property that has been paid in full with our money. So, not only is my brother in the hospital recovering from a stroke, but we have now lost a little bit over $1400 because someone decided in their infinite wisdom that we don’t deserve our money back OR an opportunity to come back and use our money for another date. I am only posting this so that we as consumers can be aware of bad businesses and immoral and heartless business practices.

Extremely poor customer service!! We booked a cabin for my daughter's 16th birthday through Carolina Cabin Rentals. After learning that the area was devastated by the hurricane, we contacted them to cancel. After 22 days they finally responded and denied our request to be refunded our initial payment of $722. We understood there was a cancellation policy in place, but assumed that - given the situation - they would make an exception. We waited several weeks after the hurricane to see how the area would recover, but a day before we were to be charged the remaining amount of our rental fee ($1400) we had no choice but to cancel. According to government websites, multiple roads were still closed, the area was still under a state of emergency, and it was advised that people stay out of the river directly behind our cabin due to hazardous debris in the water. In addition, all of the trails in the area were closed, as were state parks. None of the parents felt comfortable with their children traveling to this area. After CCR denied my refund request, I emailed them explaining I had researched the area's current situation (even including links to government websites with the info). They emphatically told me that schools were open and that they would not be refunding my money. I then explained to them that I did not plan to enroll my child in school there and reiterated that the purpose of our trip was to TOURIST activities that were closed (hike, kayak, raft, visit state parks). We were not spending $2200 and driving 4 hours to simply sit in a cabin for 2 days. I tried getting help from Airbnb, but didn’t get much further. I will not use either company again. What poor customer service and how sad it is that they would use a natural disaster to their advantage.

If I could give this a 0, I would. After natural disaster, Hurricane Helene, traveled through the area, leaving destruction in it’s wake (no power, flooding, no major highways into the area, not to mention a boiling water was in effect for the area) we attempted to cancel our reservation as the government advised all visitors to avoid the area to allow the cleanup and relocation efforts to continue. This organization chose to disregard the state of emergency and told us that the cabin we reserved had no damage and had power and, as such, we would not be getting a refund. This insensitivity towards their own community cleanup, at a time when they are most vulnerable, is absolutely absurd. I cannot support organizations that care more about money than each other.

Day 3 and still have not received my deposit back, they even took out the second payment even though it was not due until 15 days out. We agreed to rent a place with certain expectations of ability to move around the area safely and we are definitely not being afforded that opportunity. All we asked for was a full refund. Please do your homework and check these guys out.

I rented a cabin through them for a women's retreat and was given a lot of misinformation that led me to making a decision that put our group in danger. Our retreat was planned for the weekend that Hurricane Helene hit western NC. Nobody ever expects a storm of this magnitude in the mountains, but I did my best to get as much details about the location of the cabin in order to make the right decision. I asked about accessing the cabin and was told we could drive our church bus there. Thank God we didn't because even on the driest and sunniest of days, accessing the cabin wouldn't have been possible in our 18 passenger bus. We would have gotten stuck in the elements. We took cars instead, which are still stuck there. I asked about the location of the cabin and was told it was just off the main road in Blowing Rock. Nope. It was 9 miles outside of Blowing Rock, off of a road full of switch back and S curves. It was NOWHERE near town and couldn't have been any more remote. I asked about the neighborhood itself and was told it was a gated community and completely paved. The first mile in was paved, but unfortunately the back 2 miles was not paved, which matters in a storm. Armed with those answers we made the decision to go. I KNOW we could have chosen not to go, but nobody expected a storm of the century. I just wanted to know the truth so I could have made a better decision. We got out and made it to a Holiday Inn to wait on transportation home. While there I met an older couple who had rented a cabin through them and was given directions to the cabin they rented. The directions given almost got the couple stranded. They needed a Jeep Wrangler or something like that to follow those directions and they just had their car. What I want out of this is for the company to just tell the truth! When I spoke to several different employees of theirs last Wednesday before we left, they each said they didn't even live in or know the area. How were they able to answer my questions if they didn't know the right answers? One of the reps said he would call the homeowner and get answers from him. He called me back and said he had spoken with the homeowner. We found out on Saturday from neighbors who had spoken to the homeowner that he didn't even know we were there. What? Why would you tell me you spoke to the homeowner and you didn't? Just tell the truth! I realize that we are so blessed to have gotten out when so many didn't or they lost everything. I accept my responsibility in the decision to go, but I would have NEVER gone and taken a group of women had I known ALL of the truth about the location. What a poor way to do business!

Absolutely disgusted with Lei Lei Mountainstay. If this issue isn't corrected by the company, then we will take it to the YouTube vlog and also our social media group followers. Absolutely gross, unsafe and unsuitable for children. Don't use this company.

Beware of the very strict cancelation policy! Read the fine print before booking! Most rentals offer a full refund if you cancel over 30 days out but with Carolina Cabin Rentals, you will pay 25% if you cancel after 24 hours of your booking and 50% if you cancel within 30 days of your booking. Highway robbery!

Proceed with caution with this company. We rented a home on Eagles Nest for 30 days. We spent over $14K. On day two we noticed the A/C was not cooling well. We reported it and they sent a "handy many" to check it out, not a certified tech. The said it was fixed. 5 more visits later and being told we are the problem not the A/C, they finally sent someone with the proper testing equipment and found a freon leak. The maintenance guy apoloigized for not havin the proper equipment on the other visits. Carolina Cabin Rentals did not apologize. There were no sceens on the windows so when we opened them to cool off at night, misqiotos and moths were landing on our faces in bed. We were unfomfortable for 3 out of our 4 weeks due to gross neglagence. The worst! We asked for a discount and they did not respond. Also, we got there and found the Ice maker was not working. Thier response 10 days later was to change the water filter. Seriously! Of coure we never had an ice maker, so they had to keep bringing us ice. This company ruined our vacation. Next season we will be sure to use another company for our 30 day rental.

I was looking at ski in ski out places to stay and Condo at Pinnacle Inn came up ! It’s definitely not that , it’s across the main road you would have to walk a quarter mile cross a main road and walk behind peoples houses to get to the slopes . There is some kind a of white stains on coach , red stains on the pillow in the bedroom, mold in the bathroom !! Definitely would not recommend!! I have pictures but not sure how to post them .

We just returned from a stay at Beech Bum and we had a blast. Two adults and 5 teenagers and the house had plenty of room. The kitchen was well appointed with dishes and silverware, the beds were nice, plenty of towels and linen. The hot tub was amazing, sauna is a great addition and the mud room is great for snowy boots!! The location is great!! About 5 mins or less from skiing, pizza and Fred’s. We will definitely stay again. I wasn’t sure about the house because of previous ratings but we give it 5 stars. The only thing we emailed the company about was the living room tv - we couldn’t get a channel on it but there were 5 other working TVs in the house.

Terrible communication!!!! Our cabin stay was during the week, last week, and I am STILL waiting to hear back from management!! The house we paid for relied completely on propane and when we checked into the cabin the propane tank was completely empty!! We had no heat and no hot water!! It was more than 24 hours when we were sent 3 space heaters, one of which stopped working after 2 minutes of use! We did not have BASIC amenities until 22 hours prior to our checkout!! All I have received is a handful of apologies from remote reservation staff!! I have sent numerous emails and made multiple phone calls about speaking to management and I have yet to hear back from anyone about any kind of refund! The cabin I paid for was not the cabin my family received!!

The cabin was beautiful and very well appointed. Great location. The photos & descriptions on the site were very true to life! Instructions for accessing the cabin once received were very clear. It would be better if emails were received on a consistent and timely basis (per the ranges given in the site). If you also provide the cleaning crew-I would suggest they may want to pay a bit more attention to dusting in the bedrooms & light fixture in the dining room (lots of cobwebs). Key areas such as bathrooms and kitchen were very clean.

Absolutely DEPLORABLE conditions of this rental. For the STEEP price we were charged It is HORRIBLE value you actually get. The windows were broken and the door was broken and the dishwasher was broken. There was mold in the bathroom there was mold in the hot tub. One of the bedroom lights wouldn’t even turn on so we couldn’t use the bedroom and we couldn’t use the bathroom. The heat was not turned on when we got there and barely worked during our stay. It was absolutely freezing. The one door barely closed and the lock was broken. UNSAFE. We weren’t given an entry code until AFTER our arrival. We weren’t given the Wi-Fi. There was no Wi-Fi to be found in the rental, which caused a very dangerous situation, considering we had no service. The floor of the living room was dirty when we got there. It absolutely was NOT CLEAN for Covid, so they put our health in direct risk of exposure. Worst rental ever. Dirty unsafe and stealing money. I have pictures and videos to prove everything! Absolutely disappointed in the condition of the rental and the lack of communication from the company. I feel my money was stolen from me.

$400 refund for a cabin we paid over $4500 for 4 nights. That’s what was offered when we walked in to find the cabin INFESTED with flies. All we asked was to fix the the issue by transferring us to a new cabin or a refund for 2 nights since we no longer wanted to stay there. I have never stayed in a place so disgusting. DEAD flies in every corner and at least 10 in each room buzzing around while we’re sleeping. Won’t book here in the future, I’ll try a different, cleaner company to rent from. USE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE.

As others mentioned, it is difficult to communicate with the office due to so many diff staff you may get. Some are very rude & condescending. The cabin furnishings & design are top notch but you need to know that the shower pressure & hot water volume is poor; drinking water from tap is terrible; strong smell of gas each morning after we cooked breakfast & showered. So much so that we became nauseous. We have stayed at other cabin & vacation home agencies before and we won't be returning to this one.

Great communication with Carolina Cabin Rentals The house was awesome for a family of twelve. Lots of space and a large table for dining together. Spectacular views of the mountains and surrounding areas. Close to hiking trails and Ice Cream!!! Plenty of puzzles and games and outdoor activities to keep all occupied and happy.

We had trouble with the entry code and immediately called the cabin rental and they got us in very quickly! The house was amazing. Very spacious and clean. All the amenities as advertised. Will definitely return for another visit.
