We have used this company to book the same cabin in Beech Mountain for the last several years. We have never had any issues with the company or the rental unit. All communication from the company and rental instructions have always been detailed and accurate. Just writing this has got me excited about our next ski venture.

I will give give Carolina Cabin Rental a 5 star rating. The property was very clean and nice. I love the Fiddlestix property and location. The price was reasonable and contract was easy to understand. There was no surprises with the property or price. The pictures were exactly like the property. I look forward to my next mountain vacation rental with Carolina Cabin Rentals!!

The cabin was beautifully decorated and came with all the amenities you could ever want. It was obvious that attention to detail was in the plan. Carolina Cabins responded quickly with any questions we had. Will stay again 100%

Great cabin, great views, clean, comfortable, cozy. I would recommend this place to anyone and I’ll be back in the fall.

Absolutely an amazing location with a beautifully appointed cabin! A true getaway from it all spot, but still feel like your “roughing it” luxury style.

The location was great. The house was good. BUT the communication was lacking. This is an email we sent them on AirBNB a day after we left the house and it has been three weeks and we have yet to hear back from them Thank you for a good week, I wanted to write to you with some concerns about our stay. I decided to enjoy the last two days of my vacation as much as I could and not contact you again while we were there. As you know there were things that we were very dissapointed in and this is why... When we started looking for places to stay back in January we had multiple things on our list that we were looking for and your cabin met all of our needs. The reason for our trip was to celebrate our moms 60th birthday. Three families were coming together to celebrate. My mom really wanted a grill to for a BBQ. Which yall had. But when we got there...it was disgusting. And Andrew (my husband) took 45 minutes to an hour to clean it. He said it was one of the worst grills he has ever seen. Which was disappointing. We also wanted a hot tub. Which your place had but it was dirty when we got there. And we are not even sure it had been serviced in between stays. I know now I should have taken a picture and reported it right away but this is the first time I have stayed with a hot tub. It just was not very clean and the water level was low. I asked multiple times about the water level and it was not until Wednesday that I heard back that I was able to add water to it. With no mention of a hose on site so I used a pot from the kitchen to make several trips to and from the hot tub to fill it up. When we mentioned the bubbles (which yall said were normal) to Kevin he said they were not normal and it needed to be serviced. Which he did and they went away. Which again tells us that it was not serviced in between visits. Which is disgusting. Third we were really excited about the outside living area. One of the things we were looking forward to being from Texas was sitting outside in the cool Temps and enjoying the mountain air. When we got there it looked as if the furniture or picnic table had not been wiped down in a very long time. The wipes we used were black after we wiped everything down. Also the outside furniture needs a serious update. It was in no way comfortable to sit in. Also the fireplace did not work. We tried to get it to work and spent quite sometime working on it. I mentioned this to you on Monday morning and it was n9t until Wednesday night that someone came out to fix the situation. That meant more than half of our vacation was gone and we had not been able to enjoy the fireplace outside. Fourth. The firepit! It clearly states in your listing that there is an outside gas fireplace AND a fire pit that we can purchase wood for. Why would we need to purchase fire wood for a gas fireplace. When Kevin came we asked him about it and he said there use to be a portable firepit That was no longer there. Which was very disaapointing. One because we were bought and brought ingredients for smores and little kids who were excited to make them over a campfire. And two because we were told it was there. Then we looked and looked and looked and looked multiple times (using up our vacation) to look for a.firepit that was advertised that was not there. And then we mentuoned it over and over and over again yall told us it was the gas fireplace that that was talking about. Which was not true. Disappointing. Fifth! Half of the TVs did not work. We were only able to get half of them to work and we spent quite a while with to no avail on the others. And the one on the patios remote did not work. We were only able to change channels from the box. Sixth. There was no internet in the extra guest house. This would have been nice to know. We were looking forward to doing a movie night in there with the grandkids and their grandma but because we were not able to use our laptop's internet or use the TV which did not work we were not able to do that activity. There was a DVD player but unfortunately we did not have any dvds for movie night. My mom who stayed in there was never able to use any of her devices when she was there in the evening either. SAD. Also...just so you are aware...in front of the guest house when it rains the front porch fills up with mud. That might be something you need to repair and look into. We loved Beech Mountain but we are not sure if we would stay at the Stettin House again or even any of the properties from Carolina Cabin Rentals. We paid a lot of money and I feel like a lot of my vacation was spent with communicating back and forth with you guys and nothing really being done about it until after the third or fourth time asking. Honestly, nothing was fixed until after the 4th day we were there. And now we are heading home from our trip and there are still things on that list that we never got. For example the firepit.

Wow - what a less than pleasant experience. We arrived at Sugar Mountain Escape around 5 pm on Monday (checkin at 4 pm) to find that this cabin was falsely advertised as having “central air”. We chose rentals with central air due to me having asthma and my husband having allergies. We also found dishes that may or may not have been washed in the dishwasher and used soap in the master shower. So, we are not sure if the shower was cleaned. So we called Carolina Cabin Rental and left a VM within an hour of arriving to discuss this. A gentleman named Tim called us back about 20 mins later. We had found roller air units, 1 with a vent out a window and the other in the master bedroom that blew hot air out the back. Tim said he could send someone out to fix the unit, but then realized as we had told him, there is no central air in this house, so there is nothing to fix. We also found that the ice maker wasn’t working as well. And it appears there has been a problem with the refrigerator before due to floor being a little warped around it. He said would contact the manager and have them call us since there was no other cabin for us to go to and see about compensating us for it or we could cancel our vacation. Seriously? At 9 pm a lady (the manager) called and said that they had a system glitch 2 weeks ago that caused all their homes to show that they all had central air - this is not true this house since we had booked this cabin over a month prior. (PS as of Sunday when we were leaving on their website they are still falsely advertising this house as having central air.) She also said she would work on getting a “window unit” for us and offered to have someone clean - uhhhhmmm - we’ve already done that now, so no thanks. She offered us $275 for our inconvenience (we are paying $381.91 a night) uhhhhmmm no thank you. Gonna need more than that for this “inconvenience”/false advertising. I don’t think the NC Real Estate Commission considers a rolling air unit with a pipe out the window central air. So, it’s now dark, we brought our dogs and we’re going to let them out. It’s very dark, a very steep driveway and a flood light is out making it difficult to see walking the dog at night. Made note of that to contact them Tuesday. We ended up having to open the slider door in the master bedroom to blow the hot air from the roller unit outside. PS this thing is so loud it’s like a 747 engine blowing all night - so no sleep. It’s now Tuesday morning, we get up and there is water underneath the refrigerator so we clean that up. Tim calls again and we make him aware there is the leak of the refrigerator now in addition to the ice maker not working and we need a flood light replaced. He said he would get back with us on that. According to him, the manager that called last night had to talk to her manager as they discuss a refund for us. A lot of manager layers there, no wonder management fees are so high. Anyway, almost a full 24 hrs since we arrived, and a young man arrives about 4:20 pm to install the roller air unit and pipe it out the master window. We asked about the flood light and refrigerator and he said he doesn’t do that. So, still not fixed. PS the roller air unit they installed was louder than the other that blew hot air out the back. So, no sleep. Wednesday morning, Felicity called and left a message making sure the air was working. When we called back, we told her yes but it’s loud, and inquired about the flood light and the refrigerator. She had to go back to look in the system because she had closed the service ticket - the services had not been completed. After looking at it, she said she would have to get back with us on those items. When we asked about a refund, she said she thought Tim had taken care of that. When she looked in to it further, it’s still with the manager of the manager and being looked at. Obviously the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. Very frustrating when you take off time for work and have to deal with headache after headache. When is there time to relax? Wednesday came and went with no flood light replaced, no refrigerator repair and no other calls from Carolina Cabin Rental. We slept a little bit with the jet engine blaring in the room, I guess from shear exhaustion. We never heard another word from Carolina Cabin Rentals the rest of our 6 day stay and nothing was repaired. The towel continued on the floor and the refrigerator continued to leak. Sugar Mountain Escape continues to be listed on their website as “central air” which it is not.

I have no doubt that all the properties are wonderful and we are very much looking forward to staying at one of the beautiful homes next week. But I have to stay having dealt with several rental companies throughout the years as well as owning rental properties, I am not a fan of Carolina Cabins. First, our reservation was originally canceled due to the pandemic and of course we completely understood. What I didn’t understand was that Carolina Cabins charged me $75 to cancel the reservation. They stated it was their administrative fees. So my reservation was canceled by them and I was still charged $75. I would have understood had I been the one to cancel. Then I requested early check in since the house was free of tenants for the few days prior to our arrival. Check in is 4pm. In order to check in around 1pm into a vacant property, they once again wanted to charge me an early check in fee of $75. I have never been so nickeled and dimed with a rental company and if it was not for attempting to recoup my original $75 in administrative fees, I would not have rented from them. And as lovely as their properties look, I will never rent from them again.

I have had a HORRIBLE experience with this company. I was extremely excited for the first time renting a cabin, we drove 6 hours one way each just to look at these cabins and in person they are beautiful so we booked. Three days after we booked the Covid pandemic hit and I lost my job. I immediately cancelled and did everything I was suppose to after shelling out over 2000 dollars for this event. I was told that I can get 50 percent back. My next question is how do I get my other half back or are there options to reschedule, push the date back, anything. Something. The answer I received from an employee is "it already went to the owners and they dont give money back". My response is, " I am not cancelling because i changed my mind I had no way of knowing about this virus and losing my job" the employees response was "well I can read you the section of the contract where it says where the money goes". I was floored. I never take the time to write reviews, but I am so extremely disappointed in the service of this company. Never again will I even consider using this company or anything affiliated with this company. A 1000 dollars out and absolutely no room to schedule at another time. PLEASE when you book make sure you are 100 percent sure this is what you want because if its not you will be left out a serious amount of money!!!

we have been vacationing in the Boone, Banner Elk area for over 20 years. This is the 1st time we have had to cancel our vacation. Our sole reason is because of the Covid 19 virus my wife and I will have been out of work for over two months leading to our vacation. There is no way to make any more payments so we had hoped due to circumstances beyond our control that Carolina Cabin Rentals would either hold our full deposit for a future rental or return our full deposit. They informed us that the refund policy is unwavering. So sad to see the lack of humanity during this crisis. Scott Schicker

The cancelation policy for the Coronavirus situation is terrible. Will never use this service again and I warn anyone of using their service. It is very sad for a business to take advantage of a situation like this to not be accommodating to their customers. If I was you go to another place to rent.

There was a group of 9 of us that came up last weekend and we stayed at the Honey Bear Cabin. It was an amazing place!!! The lay out of the cabin was quite quaint and yet surprisingly spacious. All of said more than one time that it was “truly our dream cabin”. Carolina Cabin Rentals did a fantastic job creating the perfect ambience for such a place. If you ever plan to stay here in the winter, make sure you listen to their instructions about having snow chains on your tires, especially if you don’t have a 4x4 4- wheel drive). One of our cars never made it up the road due to the ice and snow last Friday and the other car barely made it. Our car did fine as we had an all-wheel drive Subaru Forester. Anyway, the cabin is slightly cool even with a two-way gas log fireplace that heats both the living room and the dining room. The central heating makes it pleasant though. The hot tub was already ready for us when we got there, which was nice. The only thing we had difficulty with was unlocking the door per instructions. We eventually figured out after several tries and after we did get in the first time, subsequent locking and unlocking the door was NOT an issue. The only other thing that we were not prepared for was leaving a tip for the cleaning ladies, which we were more than happy to do as they did an amazing job having it spotless before we arrived. On the day of checkout, the cleaning ladies were there EXACTLY at 11:00 and not a minute before or after; so, make sure you are ready to leave by check out. Carolina did a great job letting us know we have two routes to get to the cabin. We needed to take the route advised for inclement weather. Most importantly, the staff at at Carolina we’re professional in their dealing with us, prompt in their response to our questions, and very friendly and accommodating during our initial inquiry. Andrew, Thomas, and so many others were wonderful!!! Thank you for helping us make our Winter dream Vacation a reality!!!

The cabin and setting was absolutely beautiful. Access into the cabin was quick and easy, and it was more than enough space for our adult party of six. We will always use Carolina Cabin Rental when we go to Beech Mountain! I trust this company so much to make sure my family has a great time!
