I have just finished 1:1 lessons with one of the teachers in preparation for PD2 (oral exam) and I am so happy with the experience and outcome. I got really specific and precise instruction plus lots of practice in a very short amount of time. The experience initially didn’t start well as my first teacher did not really know what she was doing. But as soon as I raised this with the school I was allocated a new (and fantastic) teacher the next day. I don’t think we can expect businesses to be perfect but the real test comes when something goes wrong - it is so important to see how the company responds to the feedback. In this case I couldn’t have asked for more.

STAY AWAY FROM CLAVIS. It is a waste of time, energy and money. For danish lessons, it is better to find another place

I wish to give zero star, because: 1. First, this school does not have any organization. Students with broad variations in Danish levels were put in one class. Nobody understands what learning should be expected/achieved and what is required in the exam. 2. The above point results in a big fail rate in moduletest, ~50% for module 1. As you are in higher modules, the rate can be higher, fx, ~75%. After you fail, you ask them how many times you could take the test, they never say. I just heard recently that, one have only 3 times to take a test. Then it's obvious, they want you to to fail and take your money. 3. As mentioned in the 2nd point, they always hide (or even called cheat). This year they close the Aarhus center. They already knew a few months beforehand. But they never told students and kept behaving normally. Then student started learning new modules and failed. At the last moment, they talked about closing the school, so students had no chance to re-test and lost the deposit. 4. The 3rd point is not the thing they do first time. A few years ago they did the same thing in Copenhagen. They closed the Copenhagen center and changed to another place (Aarhus) to cheat students again. 5. I wonder how they were selected by the government among all other schools. This also indicates the government did not do enough investigation before making the decision (or they just dont care. It is suspicious that they may think, why should I care about foreigners?) As an international researcher, I don't need Danish at all. I choose to learn only because of the respect of Danish culture and the country. It turns out I made a bad choice. 6. Students, teachers, and also administrative people should run away from this school asap. You won't get learning/career progress here at all!

I started at Clavis Aarhus with great ambitions and huge enthusiasm to learn Danish. I left with the most shocking experience I'd never wish it to happen to anyone else. Location/Place: easy to reach. that's all i can say as i attended the class online. Online system: quite poor. mistakes and errors very often. the biggest one was when they messed up zoom subscription causing online class to be cancelled. Teaching: poor. all three teachers i met didn't appear to care much. we were asked for feedbacks once or twice but our opinions were never taken in account. materials were ok and practical but never taken seriously. no teaching plan/syllabus. i could go on and on.. let me stop here and repeat the overall summary again, POOR. Administration: very poor. everything doesn't comply to school standards. staff pretend to be helpful but in fact they don't care. one of the most shocking experiences is to hear from an admin staff, "the teachers should not take time to provide feedbacks on the students exams." Thus, at Clavis Aarhus, one can NEVER learn from what went wrong in exams and how one can improve further. Students only get pass or fail as results. Never explanation / score revision. Not even score benchmarks like how many percentage must one reach to pass. I have been through schools and education organizations as both student and teacher. Never in my entire life have I seen anything like this. It is not just me - my classmates and my family who witnessed it all - they also feel the same way.

Overall, a very disappointing experience. As a student, I trust that the educator is teaching and demanding a standard of development that matches the test level. In the end, I found myself unable to speak sufficiently, as the demands of the teacher did not closely resemble the demands of the test. And, in the end, it's the student who suffers for it - not just in passing but in the time spent attempting to overcome the gap between level of expectations within the school. I discourage anyone from taking a course with Clavis, more out of the interest of time than of money - and stress. I put a lot of emphasis on regularly attending classes - I am now searching for a program where I can invest my time more wisely, feel good about my development and feel confident I'm reaching a goal. Not left to drown.

Worst school ever. They kept losing my records and when I was taking exam for module 4 the examiner did not behave professionally at all. She turned on the boombox for the listening exam 😂 and started wrapping different paper into plastic files, making such a loud noise so that it was extremely hard to hear the audio. The result: many people failed listening part and had to retake it. I was the one who asked her to stop making noise, in response she looked at me like I owed her something 😂. She turned up the volume a little bit and continued making noise. This school is organized to take government money for foreigner students, they don't care how well you will do. It reminds me of what government contractors do in my home country. It's worse of course but the basis of the scheme is pretty the same and we call it money laundering.

I went to clavis for module 1 and 2. As of now, my module 2 exam is still missing after almost two weeks. Doing the module 2 exam was extremely uncoordinated. I couldn’t do it when the rest of my group work as supposed to do it, because I had other university exams, so I asked for a later date. I was first offered the oral part on 29/06 and the written part on the 30/06. Then, they signed me up for another oral exam date (21/06) and told me the day before, when I had said no to it because it was too close and I needed a bit more time to practice. So I panicked, and tried to fix the problem. Julie called me the next day, apologized for the miss understanding, and said that they would give me another date. But then she forgot to sing me up, so on the day of the oral exam I emailed them to double check and found out that the person who told me she would fix it all (Julie) hasn’t fixed it. I was assigned a time last minute on the 29/06, which was very stressful to deal with and made the exam harder than it should be, worrying about it all. Then, the next day (Thursday 30/06) I did the written part. Only to get an email the day after day (Friday 01/07) saying I hadn’t shown up to the exam. But I had, with Andres as the examiner, and I with an exam that was from December 2011, including a text about Claudia. So that’s when they found out I had been signed to two exams at the same time. One would think that after that issue, they would at least try to solve the problem, but no. My girlfriend got her exam results two days after her exam, which was on the same day as mine, meanwhile It has been almost two weeks, and they still haven’t found my exam. They told me that they will let me know next week if I passed or not, that they have to find the professor first. So if it turns out that I didn’t pass, I will have to go to another far away location to re-do the exam due to their own mistakes. They have the worst organization I have ever seen in a language school. And they lost my exam. Do not sign up to this school.

My wife had booked a meeting for an evaluation and the representative from CLAVIS failed to show up. Use UCPlus or Studieskolen instead.

Tak Clavis Aarhus Sprogskolen for jeres indsats!

Hi,I can’t recommend this school for people who really want to learn Danish and being integrated in the Danish society. The administration doesn’t know what they are doing.I was dropped from duo3 modul 3 even though I passed the test. The explanation came later with the letter. The main reason was that my English was really bad that is why I couldn’t continue on duo3. By the way I am studying on the phd program on the Royal Danish music academy in Copenhagen. My English was checked at the second round of my audition before entering the program.Studying phd program in DKDM requires advanced level of the English language. I texted to my friends from group in Clavis and they were really choked! It is unbelievable and choking that it could happen in Danmark!Lying in public is one of the worst things what you can do!It shows the unprofessional behavior with lack of knowledge of educational process and something else…as you see . Some mounts ago I had the meeting with manager of the Danish Radio as he wanted to hire me for the concert (it was a solo concert)where I had to give an interview in English. He would chose me if I couldn’t speak English on the very good lever for sure…By the way the coordinator’s level of English was really primitive!

I was attending to these lessons for about 2 months before deciding to quit. My teacher had the worst handwriting to the point I could not understand the differences between ‘B’ & ‘V’. There was constant noise coming from the other rooms in the building which made me unfocused. The teacher seemed very conventional to the point she stated that it was not fit for the language to apply they/them to the language when referring to someone since the language was made for either He or She. It was rude and unpleasant, and unnecessary. Then we changed teachers for one day, which completely changed the level of studies to the point I could not even follow up. I gave up. Before joining the classes in real life, there was a teacher who did an interview with me and he was so lovely, I wished he had given me the classes, instead of a right-wing unfit teacher that was unpleasant to learn from, the language was already hard enough yet it was not fun. I suggest if you want to learn this language you go elsewhere. I called them today asking for a complaining form and was told that it doesn't exist... which seemed odd...

I had 2 different teachers and the standard was completly different with both. One was really good, positive and we learnt a lot. Another was uninterested, missed many classes, never set or checked any homework, never gave practice tests and we learnt nothing.
