Great UI, easy to integrate with Slack, and so helpful to see the current status of the team.
We have used geekbot for 6 months or more and it's very helpful. Everything is customizable, the support is very fast and, besides that, it generates reports about the teams and the tasks that are in progress. I recommend it!
All the standups are customizable. You can have many teams as you like, each with a different standup, including questions and schedules. We've used it daily in our team for more than 6 months and it's totally part of our daily routine.
We are a distributed small team that has members from 3 different countries, and we manage our daily standups + retrospectives through Geekbot. Geekbot allowed us to implement daily standup culture within our team without leaving Slack. So far it has helped everyone to get up-to-speed with how to approach the project management culture we are trying to implement and it allowed everyone to see the progress being made, documented and openly appreciated.
Geekbot has improve my teams performance by keeping team members accountable, addressing impediments efficiently, and not getting bogged down in meetings that can turn in to hour long discussions about nothing.
- Easy to use - Perfect to manage team spread in different time zones - Good to follow the tasks progress - Help to save time
Hello! I speak on behalf of Russian company called “Отследить-посылку”. Before using Geekbot.io we had some difficulties with making daily meetings in our company. We tried different solutions for that problem: drafting reports in Google sheets, Jira reports, Redmine, daily Skype meetings and all that didn’t help. We’ve lost a lot of time because of that, especially Skype meetings (around 30 to 40 minutes every day). Most of the stuff we’ve been talking about at our Skype meetings was lost and because of that a lot of tasks haven’t been solved. But then we tried Geekbot.io. And we were fascinated by its convenience. Things we liked about Geekbot: - How easy it is to integrate Geekbot in Slack - Questions options - Saving the answers to the Dashboard The only thing, that is inconvenient, is that all reports are opened in one chat, because we have a lot of employees making that reports. What features would we like to see in Geekbot: - Analytics of all reports, with ability to select certain questions and build graphs by the information in answers (for example, if answers are numeric or predetermined) - Analytics of questions and its answers: how many questions weren’t answered; how many questions have identical answers etc. - Daily unloading of reports (how many employees have answered; how many reports were missed; how many answers were missed etc.) - Appointment of a responsible person for checking the reports - Ability to add macroses {}. For example, add macros {answers_from_question_N_from_last_report}, so that on next report in question N there were already a checkbox list with lists of tasks, which were planned, so we could mark which planned tasks have been done. - In Pre-defined answers add ability to make an arbitrary answer Besides that, everything is fine! And it would be great to have a little discount to the price! Thank you for making such a helpful bot!
Great tool for multi-location teams.
Pros: • Ability to edit private DMs and silent publishing to the channel • Ease of configuration, templating, onboarding • Love the engagement survey/reminder to nudge • Pleasant/engaging customer support • Quick reply status for repeating the same status from the previous day Cons: • Doesn't always start on time • Suffered from extensive delays a few times (20-30 minutes between questions) • Unable to manage other standups (I purchased for several teams but I'm unable to see/configure their settings) • Response times from customer support are a bit slow even via intercom (expect 1-2 business days, sometimes longer) • Timeline performance (dashboard view) for summarization sometimes lags
I love geekbot i use it for my daily standup meetings with my team and never been so organized.
Geekbot is an important tool to help manage our remote team. The UI is easy to use and it helps keep our team close by promoting engagement.
In Chicas en Tecnologia we found it difficult to find a moment in which to sit down and see what the team was working on a daily basis. So it was difficult to identify emergencies or actions to take against certain objectives and things to do. We started using Geekbot from Slack and it helped us a lot to organize ourselves, to see the work that each one does, to do things in a dynamic way. It is a very useful tool.
Geekbot is by far the best Daily Standup app for slack! I'm attending college and have a Software Engineering group project. Our group needed a Daily Standup slack bot to make our Standups easier and we had tried two others before with bad luck. Standup Alice gave us so many problems so we switched to Geekbot and we could not be happier!! Geekbot has been excellent and I've recommended it to other teams at school who have equally loved it. I highly recommend it!!
Our team has used Geekbot for 3+ years and has found it incredibly useful. We are matrixed across a number of timezones and countries. Geekbot helps us stay in communication with one another, without being overburdened with meetings and seamlessly integrates with Slack. It helps keeps us organized and efficient while dealing with a wide number of competing priorities and projects. On top of that the customer service is top notch. Every time we have reached out to Geekbot we have received a prompt and thoughtful response from the team. We look forward to using the service for years to come!
I've been using Geekbot for about 2 years now, in 3 different companies. Never had issues and it's huge value and improvement to our day to day operations. Recently, with some small bugs, it turned out they have outstanding customer support! I'd definitely recommend this service if anyone needs "slackup" automation!
Brandworkers is the first non-profit organization dedicated to the mostly immigrant workers employed in the soaring Local Food production industry. Exploding consumer demand for artisan food products represents an opportunity to create urgently needed, high-quality jobs in and around urban centers. Regrettably, the promise of food produced close to the marketplace is being undermined by aggressive exploitation of mostly immigrant food-making workers. The workers who hand craft specialty food in small batches for sale in grocery stores and restaurants are contending with deplorable working conditions. With painfully low wages, food-making workers struggle to afford food for their own families’ tables. Many food factories are needlessly dangerous because of reckless disregard for employee health and safety. People of color, women, immigrants, and other marginalized groups face pervasive discrimination, pay inequity, and are concentrated in the most onerous jobs in the sector. Local Food today represents an enormous missed opportunity to lift workers out of poverty, contribute economic dynamism to Cities, and improve the food system for all. Led and operated by frontline food workers, Brandworkers is growing an industry-wide membership base to seek and win dignified jobs in Local Food. With traditional models of labor organization in steep decline, Brandworkers members are pioneering a new and unique form of workplace association directly operated by workers themselves and powered by direct action. To assist in the mission of creating dignified Local Food jobs via a new model of workplace association, Brandworkers members seek to employ and celebrate a world-class staff team. Solving the problem of how workers will come together successfully in the 21st century is an enormous task and members expect to be served by a staff that works as a highly collaborative team committed to learning and risk-taking. Geekbot has fast become an essential tool at Brandworkers to foster staff collaboration, alignment, and accountability. An in-person stand-up meeting in the morning doesn’t make sense for the organization. Brandworkers organizers tie their schedules to the diverse work days of food-making workers and most of their time is spent in the field. Having to come in for a stand-up in the morning each day would significantly degrade their ability to maximize their mission impact each day. By hosting our standup meetings on Geekbot, the entire staff team can align at a granular level and unstuck obstacles without having to throw off highly-focused game plans for the day. The few minutes spent doing the stand-up save significant hours of missed cues, requests for status updates, and barriers left standing. In addition to fostering effective cross-functional collaboration, Geekbot pays off in terms of individual productivity as well. Having to be deliberate about what work items will most advance a mission in a given day, publicly sharing them, and knowing you will report on those items the next day does wonders to keep on track and push away distractions over the course of a work day. Our community of members, staff, and allies work as One Brandworkers. Our singular focus is pioneering a new worker led-and-operated form of organizing that achieves dignified Local Food jobs and that can be adapted by workers in any industry, anywhere in the world. Geekbot has fast become a central tool helping Brandworkers take this journey and win.
Using Geekbot on Slack is incredibly helpful for us as a distributed team. We are way better informed what each of us is doing and started to engage more on Slack. Every contact I had with Geekbot as a company so far has been very pleasant. They have been very helpful migrating to a new slack team. Great over all experience!
We are a small tech startup with a distributed and very busy team. We leverage geekbot to improve on our already highly agile approach to software development. We are finding that we have a much higher level of communication and less time spent in needless meetings. The web interface is very handy for personal and project retrospectives too.
This service lets you run asynchronous meetings through Slack. We use it for morning catchups for our engineering team, and have found it to be a really efficient, easy way for the team to report on progress and reach out for help on any things stopping them working. The actual tool is very well designed, with great reporting, and some really nice subtle touches, like the conversation path if you miss a few reports. Definitely would recommend and cheaper than writing and maintaining a similar service yourself.

Jul 26,2019I can't believe I didn't start using this years ago. Running standups on conference calls or standing together in a room seems absurd after having used this. It is superior in every way to the way we used to do things. I also love that we have a history of what everybody was working on going back in time.
