When I changed my insurance I thought that the on line quote was too low so I phoned to check and delighted to find that is was correct. I the last 9 years there have been no nasty surprise increases and while I have no cause to make a claim I am sure that GJW will be fine. I have no intention of looking for alternative insurance (Certainly not with my previous insurer)

Nov 17,2024I have not had to make a claim so I can’t comment on that but I find there premiums are very competitive and I’ve had my narrowboat insured with GJW Direct since first purchasing it nearly 10 years ago and I will stay with them as long as there premiums remain competitive

Nov 16,2024I explained right at the start that I had never made a claim for a yacht and would require help. I was told that I had to find a repairer, but how? There was no guidance and I was left to my own devices. I spent a lot of time and effort trying to find the best place to get my yacht repaired. I had been advised, by my surveyor, that it was not safe to move the boat by sea and so had to build in transport cost as well. Incidentally my surveyor had warned me exactly what would happen, and he was correct, this was back in June. Immediately I submitted my two estimates as required, they were rejected and GJW appointed its own surveyor, who came up with two repairers, one of whom was based in London, but was prepared to hire space at a local company whom had recently stopped repairing boats; if I had had ten years and a hundred guesses, I would never have come across this firm. The other company that GJW recommended to me had , I was told going out of business as its owner was retiring. The process which, if it had been a car, would have taken one phone call and a couple of hours, has taken four months. I am pleased, however, to report that work has begun on the repairs and the repairer that GJW chose have supplied me with photos and regular reports on how work was proceeding.

Nov 16,2024So far so good. My premium for this year was less than the previous year, so 10 out of 10 there. One can only rate an Insurance company when it comes down to its actions following and during an actual claim. Thankfully, so far I have not been in that unhappy circumstance. Customer service and general information is good.
